  1. Likewise. I've seen some of the plastic ones and they look pretty dodgy.
  2. GODTHRILA, what would you recommend as a good value for money (cheaper ) radar detector?
  3. I'll be putting a stock bov back on my 32 this weekend, I'll take some pics.
  4. The front left stub axle was bent on my 32 gtst when I got it. Picked up a replacement assembly with upper arms for $50 and used the adjustable bushes from the original items
  5. Well I've got a fmic, split dump with a standard front pipe and cat then a 3" catback (don't ask me why, it came like that O_0), which will be fixed soon Got a turbotech bc and running ~14psi which drops off to 10psi. I had to take some timing out to stop it pinging but it just doesn't feel right. Comes on boost reasonable hard and then doesn't really do much. Also starts to ping slightly if you give it a foot full after driving for maybe half an hour.. need to shield that pod I reckon..
  6. Gotta any pics of the sub box? is it generic or was built to fit?
  7. ROFL nice call But yes, as mentioned, your car is lighter and has more power.. you're probably toting almost double his power at the wheels (you're running roughly 320ish kW@wheels and the stock gen3 with 250kW @ the engine probably putting down maybe 180rwkW on a good day.. correct me if I'm wrong). The difference lies in that he has an abundance of low down torque but only two poor tyres to feed the power to the ground. You have lag, but also have 4wd to compensate for when the power does come on. Either way, he might get you off the line if you bog down but I'm sure it wouldn't take long at all to pass him like he's standing still
  8. Yeah well I've seen people on here quote 12psi as the most boost you can run before it kicks in, but if it works off air flow then that can't be true.
  9. The ute would be good for MAYBE a mid to high 14. They are relatively simple to mod enough to go 11s though.
  10. I think in my 32 dash lights were the Meter fuse, L12 for you. Give it a go
  11. My guess it is to lean/richen the car across the board. Not sure which way would be which though.
  12. So R&R is triggered when the ecu reads too much voltage from the afm due to excessive airflow? Ehh I think it runs a little rich at 13-14psi and was just wondering if the ecu used a map sensor or something to decide when to trigger R&R. After xmas I'll put the rb25 turbo on that I've got and get the ecu remapped, hopefully it should go a bit better then Cheers for the responses
  13. DD means losing points off your NEXT license too
  14. I agree completely. It's too easy to get a license here and (particularly without the hp limitations they have over east) get in a car that is too much for you to handle and kill lots of people. Personally I think they should make everyone ride a scooter for a year before they allow you in a car, that would certainly give you an appreciation for larger metal objects moving at high rates of speed near you and the unpredictability of random drivers. But yes, intensive Advanced driving courses should be mandatory. As for revenue raising, I believe that is exactly what it is. How much of the revenue raised by traffic infringements actually contributes to improving the quality of our roadways. Fair enough, some may be directed towards scaremongering in the way of smashed car displays etc. (which is a good graphic way of indicating what can happen, but I say make them ride scooters!), but these honestly can't cost very much. I guess that part of the problem with the poor quality of our road system is the fact that local streets are maintained by the the local councils and main roads, obviously by Main Roads.
  15. I've got permits for the fmic and pod filter (I'm in WA) but am looking to shield the pod somehow. Was going to put it inside a standard airbox but upon closer inspection I think it will foul with the fmic piping, so I'm going to get some cardboard and sheetmetal and knock up a simple barrier, probably open at the top.
  16. The Autobahn isn't unlimited speed limits. It is only on stretches between towns where there is no limit. The roads have been designed to handle 200+mph and are constantly maintained. There is also 24hr traffic surveillance and speed limits closer to the towns are constantly changed to suit the traffic conditions. Not to mention the fact it is quite difficult to get your license in Germany. I do believe there is extensive training and hefty fees ($1000+) before you're allowed on the Autobahn. But they do religiously enforce the Keep Right (other side of the road ) law
  17. Do the R32 GTSt ECU's have a boost cut? and if so, what does it use to measure the boost and where is it located? Just wondering if I am hitting boost cut and if there is anything I can do about it. ECU remap will come early next year when all the bits I have collected go on. Cheers.
  18. I got done by a tripod mounted laser in my dads AU back when I was 17. Cop made me go have a look at the laser, it read 115kmh @ 305m.. .. it was a 60 zone $350 and 6 points.. that was back in the days when you could do up to double the speed limit before instant loss of license.. I was 5kmh and the cops weren't happy but as it was I only had 6 points left so I lost it anyway, just didn't need to be taken away in the back of the squad car
  19. I second the Sprinter idea, or really any old RWD corolla.
  20. Scooters are like fat chicks.. it's a fun ride until your mates find out
  21. castor kit consists of radius rod end bushes? If you still have the castor kit and rear camber kit after the Xmas period I'll probably take them.. the Mrs has kerbed the car spending over the holiday period
  22. My bunky is an '87 ML Barina.. probably worth about $500 and $30 worth of fuel will last me like 2 weeks of driving to work... but I find I still drive my skyline almost all of the time
  23. A Sherpa
  24. Seeing as we're resurrecting old threads.. Does does the r32 ecu have a boost cut? and if so, how does it measure the pressure and where from?
