spotted a black R35 GTR at fountain gate shopping centre car park this arvo. it had NSW reg and was being loaded onto a flat bed... not sure what that was about?... car looked awesome though!
  2. theres no point rushing these things ay. thats how mistakes are made... there always the next one!
  3. Awe boooo! thats a shame. whats holding you back Adam?
  4. i had heard this this might be hapening... i think i should be in attendance
  5. wow, that sounds like a good deal! if i wasnt running this weekend i would gladly donate mine. im definatly gonna come say hi to you in the pits, id love to have a closer look at the beast (if you dont mind...)
  6. yeah, cheers matty... some of us have to be on a tight bugdet. besides its more fun beating guys who have spent the big bickies on the cars. theres no substitute for talent...
  7. sound like a plan! the cheapest and one of the best mods you can do for the track is add less weight. so start strippin!!!! then think about zorst, intake, puta, BOOOOOST!!!!! oh, and dont forget brakes and tyres, the list goes on... have fun!
  8. well said mat, if its your first time, go in with your eyes open! start off nice and easy and work your way into it. in most cases you will find that you will learsn something new every lap. just try not to get ahead of yourself. be smart, be safe and know the cars limits, AND YOUR OWN!!! another thing i found when i was first starting out was i followed someone (a professional driver) around for a number of laps at winton raceway. i knew in my mind that technically my car car could out handle the car that he was in at the time. so i just sat behind him following every move he made and every line he took around each corner. i was basically his shadow. after that session my lap times improved ten fold. i learnt so much by just following and observing that day, and it changed my whole approach. just another little pointer i guess. oh, and i was gonna say something about the whole "break" thing but you've done it for me mat
  9. you could, but i wouldnt. if the wind catches it, it will take off. if you want you can usually pick up the proper blue triangle stickers from any good race suplies outlet eg. concept racegear or merridian motorsports. they are $2...
  10. Congrats mate, that is one nice car you have there. mmm R34 GTR...... the envy!!!
  11. for those who are interested, entry list is up... http://www.wrx.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=56404 looks like their having a crack at you matty! im sure everythings gonna be ok this time...
  12. hmm... i could be wrong. i havent done DT myself before. i just thought that as it was training, its not a part of the official timming. but now i dont know...
  13. as long as it sticks to the car, its blue, and you can make a triangle out of it, it'l be fine
  14. the std gtr injectors can keep up with that much power?!!!
  15. i dont belive there is timing for the DT group. you could always do the DT this time, get to know the place, then go for timing next time. its up to you.
  16. yup, you need to have a fire extinguisher mounted properly in the car (not just screwed into the carpet). i made a bracket with mounts to the seat rails in mine. Blue triangle (just blue electrical tape will do fine) to indicate the battery location in the car, and finally the secondary bonnet restraint. if your bonnet on the car is standard it SHOULD be fine as technically it allready has a secondary latch, because you pop the bonnet with the lever, then you release the catch at the front... (mine is standard and ive never had a problem...) also dont forget, cover all limbs, so long sleaves and proper shoes are important. my mate once forgot about this rule and turned up in a short sleave shirt, he had to go home and get changed... i think that covers everything you need, oh, most important, HAVE FUN!!!!!
  17. what do you mean "worthy", you dont have to be there to break the lap record...
  18. on the topic of loud, ive noticed that the noise limit for sandown is 75DB again, will this be a problem?
  19. all i can say is WOW! nice job adam. looking forward to seeing and hearing it at sandown!
  20. ive ordered front upper control arm bushes and adjustable camber kit form my beast, hopefully i'll get it done in time...
  21. if it rains it rains... gotta love four wheel drive! besides, its the only chance i have of keeping up with you lot!
  22. couldnt have said it better myself! the amount of times i had people say to me this weekend "why dont you put your car in?" and the amount of times i told them "sorry, but burnouts arent my cup o tea!" i was only too happy to stay well away from yob fest 2009! i like my car the way it is... NOT BENT OR IMPOUNDED!!! sorry if i got a bit carried away...
  23. nice, it'l be good to see big red back in action!
