I thought id give my car a full body refresher and take panels and windows out full respray re-seal etc. Now after tking the skirts of to replace them with N1 style. i found a couple of russt spot now the guys at G&S bodyworks did a excellent job cutting them out and treating them and welding new plates on top. Now just a question is there ever a way to fully prevent further rust from reappearing?

And have a guess what came up the spool website and have another guess what i found in that website F**k all about rb34dett stroker engine for 9k. I understand the VR has much more adjustments and ALot of potential, Just saying from the weight ratio point of view, and the ammount of tuning they did at the end of the production line. Dont worry about it im just curious about things LOL

I meant the Car is much lighter not the engine. Spool does it for 9k, I wonder how those strokers will go with the -5 and how responsive they will be. And the petrol usage difference.. Have you got a website i can check this out? Is it advertised?

I forgot to mention the 2.8L stroker. That also should of been standard and not the 2.6. And the Idea of the Rb26 was probably was being worked in 87-88 but was refined and produced to GTR spec in 89.. What i mean by stage 2 is yes the ecu was tuned more then the average tune. Yes the Rb26 can be tuned slightly and make more gains and it could also be tuned again to make more gains. Dont know what the limit is before you need extra parts. What im saying is the VR was probably tuned more then the Rb26 straight off the line. who knows. And yes it can be further tuned to make more gains aswell. Anyways Who knows what they did in the factory and what tune they did and comparing the ratio to the Rb26 what was tuned more i dont know. Im just guessing because the laws were different before. Why is it that the 180km cluster was inplemented into the Older GTR cars and not the newer ones? Did the law of speed change over the eyars which allowed them go harder with the factory tune?

Wait where did i say that the RB is lighter then VR i didnt say that PS Not sure if im right or wrong but i perosnally beleive that the RB26DETT has more hidden power then the VR the VR has basically been modded more then the RB from the production line. AAnd yes dont get me wrong the VR has ALOT of potential aswell. but because of the law changes i think the VR came out basically almost with stage 2 mods from the factory line. The Z-tune is how the rb26 should of rolled out of the production line in the fisrt place.0-100 in 3.5secs and ive read articalls that it does the quarter in the 10sec mark.. And that is a healthy tune and can be driven as a daily

Has anybody ever looked into this? Since my car is getting upgraded slowly slowly so far around 500hp. I know thats not much to worry about with the GTR but im a perfectionist and one of these days want to go about strengthening the body just like they did to the z-tune. Who does this type of work and has anyone ever done it to there car?

5 speed Close Ratio Gear Set with strengthened Input Shaft Fortified Transmission Center Plate (GTR32/33) I also Change the main shaft to the R33 gtr one its abit stronger. I also replaced the synchros. I have actually been told there are some fake gear sets going around. Anyways When i drive my car it sounds like a spaceship, I actually love the sound of it. The size and teeth angles are different then stock to make them stronger and more durable.

Im still not mechanically minded but if a synchro fails does that mean you need a whole new gear set? Or cant you just replace the synchros? Or is it the Synchro that causes the gear set to snap?

Parcel shelf shift???? never heard of it.. ive driven in 3rd at about 4000rpm then droppped it into second at around 6500 and let it rip alot of times. whats that called lol

if a supra can do those big speeds Just curious as to why a bored out rb26dett with big horses cant do the same even a modified rb30dett. I cant beleive the speed on that supra thats 395kmph one of the fastest things in the world. How and why hasnt the GTR competed with it, If it has can anyone advise me ?

When my os giken was getting installed the guy said the gears are massive he swears i will not snap it im currently running close to 500bhp my aim is around 650bhp and they should handle excellent with that power, How much power are you running and what are you doing to make them brake, are they second hand sets or wat? PS: my stock box was never changed since brand new in 1994 last of the r32 gtr's. I had that power for around 1.5 years and i was doing alot of rev n dumps before it finally snapped from 2nd to 3rd.

Can you tell me how you are braking so many boxes the os gikens can handle big power 800BHP some say more as there was one guy that ran 9 sec runs in it. HOw in the hell can you brake 2?

Sorry half asleep when i wrote that! If you have one of those thin fridge magnet cards and you apply it to the body and it doesnt stick too well, But a thick magnet sticks. How could you tell how thick the bog is?

Anyone know any tricks i know the magnet trick the hinner the magnet the kess sticky but is it even suposed to stick well with a paper thin magnet ?

So my car has been in a minor accident front guard, Bumper, have been replaced i have also took it to a guy and i have decided to do the full paint job windows out + repair etc (G & S Bodyworks Yennora) his name is Gus. Has quoted around the 4k mark for a full cut down window out re-spray.. plus repaairing the damage. THis includes the after market seals front and back. How is the price? A i getting ripped?he seems to tell me his actually doing a good pric for me and normally it would be over the 5 k mark

Thats fair enough, its just strange your the only one in australia tackling this problem.
