Just got car back from Racepace. Verdict: I like the way the car handles now! Boring photo of Hicas unit removed. Note 5kg weight reduction. Custom Racepace Hicas bar, retaining OEM tie-rods. Racepace logo is a nice touch. Again, it's nothing exciting. Note 4" exhaust sits very close to rear differential housing. Cheers Matt

Personally, I love the tough look of the Work Meister S1. But I certainly understand Jack's point regarding unsprung weight etc etc. As mentioned TE37s, CE28s, LMGT4s (all of which I have owned) and other popular Volk Racing wheels are so overdone on BNR34s. I am a wheel whore, therefore i am always looking at other exciting wheel matching for my car. These were the original pics that got me hooked on the Meisters. This particular set was traded on this forum in 2008/09 and changed hands twice as far as I know. The set for sale in Sydney may very well be the same set of wheels transferring ownership again... Looks almost Tonka (toy) tuff! As always, I appreciate the input Cheers Matt

Guys, I almost forgot. I would like to buy these wheels.... Specs: Second hand Work Meister S1 20"X10.5" in chrome and get this - Fr offset 0; Rr offset -6. Cost: NOT cheap Discontinued specs, rare I did a bit of calculation and the front is going to stick out 21mm more than my TE37s and Rear by 27mm. Couple of questions: Would the wheels clear my AP brake calipers? Would the inner rim clear my Tein RS? Would the outer guard rub on the rear guard?

Yes, my car spends more time at Racepace than my garage! I am always picking Chris's brains on how to tweak the car more for better performance. I just got transfer case modified to allow more power to be diverted to the front wheels when power on. This supposedly gives better traction when launching and on corner exit. I had Hicas removed as well to allow a more stable rear end when cornering at moderate to high speeds. The factory setting of Hicas gives the car a rather unstable feel to the rear end. Besides, all of Racepace circuit and targa cars have Hicas deleted. Therefore, two more boxes ticked! I also underwent another re-tune on the dyno and Chris discovered a minor lean spot just as the boost comes on that needed some adjustment. Just a word of advice, dyno-tuning needs to be carried out periodically as the GTR tends to get out of tune with mileage. Power at the Rear wheels was slightly down from 413 rwkw to 407 rwkw (humid day!). Boost levels slightly down, probably due to high barometric pressure. All other systems were checked to ensure optimal operation and the car is thankfully A1. Hmmm... just a few more thing on my list to be done. Finally, thank you all for the continued interest and support. This thread has over 100,000 HITS!!!

Thanks guys. I have read Hamish's thread.

Hi all, I am contemplating conversion to E85 in search of more power. I have a few 'dumb' questions for those who re using E85. Yes, I have done a 'search' already and found no objective information. Besides bigger injectors, fuel pump and dyno re-tune, what else is required to convert to E85? My tuner told me that E85 may 'foul' in the tank if left unused for extended periods of time and that the fuel lines may 'corrode' prematurely due to high ethanol content. Is that true? The tuner says its not worth changing just for a little bit more power. "PowerPlus E85+ is a renewable fuel source that is also environmentally friendly. Its performance is comparable to 110 octane race fuel. Your engine will run cooler and your ETs will be less affected by atmospheric changes. PowerPlus E85+ is not corrosive like methanol, it includes all the anticorrosive's and lubricants found in PowerPlus 98+ and does not leave carbon deposits like petrol so maintenance is reduced across the board. Your spark plugs and oil stays looking like new." Are the above claims true in 'real life' situations? Less carbon deposits?? If tuned well, what sort of power gains are expected? My car yeilds 400+rwKw (on Racepace dyno). Any drawbacks on using E85? I guess one is limited availability at servos? higher price per litre? If there are no other major drawbacks, then why aren't every power hungry GTR owners using it? Any comments appreciated. Cheers Matt

Advan Ao48 Semi Slicks 265/35/18
tangomatt replied to Downforce's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
How does the date (of manufacture I suppose) affect the useability of the tyres? Do the tyres go off? I am thinking of using semi tyres for my daily. Is that a good idea? especially taking into account my car only gets driven once a week maybe. BTW, good price, as I got quoted $540 per tyre from Traction tyres. -
Topgear: R34 Gtr Vspec With Hks V-Cam
tangomatt replied to TOPG34R's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
For one second, I thought it was a replica of my car, only in black! At listed price and all the goodies that come with it, its a relative bargain! Good luck with sale. Matt -
Free Bump! Tough looking wheels!! Love the offset, any ideas the exact amount of offset? Cheers Matt

Free BUMP from a wheel whore! Absolutely awesome wheels. Pity offset is not for GTR as I would have snapped these up. Don't forget these are NO LONGER in production. Therefore just the rarity of these wheels are worth the money. Hell, I feel like buying them even if I had no suitable car for them to go on.

'02 R34 Gtr V Spec 2 Nur
tangomatt replied to GTRRKT's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
To be brutally honest, Nurs are a bit over-rated. I know from first hand experience! The M Spec Nurs are better in that you get a leather interior. -
For Sale: Item: complete set of Nismo S-Tune coilovers Specs: Front 6.0K Rear 6.7K (Hardness adjustable); Non height adjustable - lowers car about 20mm-30mm overall. Suits: R34/33 GTR direct replacement Condition: excellent; no oil leaks; suspension shafts are perfectly straight; No creaks; no rust etc. Some minor cosmetic paint blemishes. Racepace can vouch for quality. Mileage: less than 20,000kms mileage from new, originally purchased from Import Monster; Reason for sale: removed from my Racepace RB28 in August 2010 to make way for Tein RS upgrade Price: a very reasonable $1100 + freight if needed Don't worry my trader's rating is impeccable! The Nismo S Tune reduces body lean, pitch and dive. Provides neutral, balanced handling. Spring rate is 20% stiffer than stock. Good street to weekend track use compromise. Common misconception is that a stiffer spring rate would provide better handling characteristics, however, according to Racepace, a softer spring rate is beneficial to allow proper and optimal loading of the tyres when cornering, therefore giving the most amount of traction to turn around the corner. The traction is also more predictable. On with the pics: PLEASE PM if interested

Hi Shiro Ryo I switched the NUR engine out because I wanted increased capacity RB. Its amazing what just an extra 0.1771 L of capacity can do to transform the way the engine performs. I sold the NUR engine as a whole with the Gold cam covers because that usually is worth more money. I went for black cam covers to match the theme of the car - black and white. Matt

Eoi: Racepace Rb28 Vcam
tangomatt replied to tangomatt's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Hi guys, Thank you for well wishes For those who have been following my build thread will appreciate the quality of the parts and the workmanship that has gone into putting the car together by Racepace. Asking price is under 40% of what I have actually spent. My loss will certainly be somene's real gain. I hope the next owner will test how the car performs at the track. Right now she is still a track 'virgin'. Reason for selling - have fulfilled all my dreams with a R34 GTR in the four years of ownership and constant modifications. Time to move onto a new chapter.... Hmmm.... Resto-mod Mustang Eleanor (a' la Gone in 60 seconds)? More JDM? perhaps the mighty DBA-R35 or Honda NSX Type R replica? Or even Porsche 993 Carrera S or Turbo Rauh-Welt style
