  1. Ok lowered the boost to 10psi, and still having detonation from around 4500rpm in 2nd.
  2. My first car was a 1989 series 3 R31 skyline sedan. i brought it bog stock and auto. These come with the RB30E eng READ NON TURBO. i found it realy good as a first car as they are easy to work and when driving you have do all the driving thier are now other computers or safty systems in the car apart from the ECU (And AUTO computer if auto) You can easerly upgrade to turbo eng when you get off your p's or put another RB eng in with out to much hassel. gear boxs are easy to fit with the RBDET box bolting straight up and some slight moderfying (to the firewall) for the RB25DET box. in the end i had 120RWKW after doing full exhaust system, pod filter, nistune ecu, custom crow cam. and changed to a RB20DET manual box. my best would have being 15.5sec. as for body thier are a few body kits getting around now. suspeiontion. thier are a few options, and coilovers are now avalable. I would recermend this is a first car as they are cheep (from 1k to 5k)
  3. I'm not going to go in to the debate about SMIC v FMIC. IT will be replaced at a later date, for now i have got the 34 SMIC cheep so i dont mind. Also my front bar allows good airflow in to the cooler.
  4. thanks paul. yep gona wind down the boost to 12psi getting a r34 smic (being stelth) and CAI is currently under construction.

  6. Ok I had a old turbosmart boost controol in my r32 (borrowd of a mate for a drag meet) and wasn't happy with it as it spiked at 14PSI and droped of to 10PSI and just seemed dogy to me. I had the car dyno run with this in and made 136RWKW all was good,AFR were fine and haddent noticed any eng issues. (this was done while temp was 32 and 90% humidity i live in darwin) Now the dry season has kicked in and i have started to notice the mertalic rattling sound when im at full boost (3/4 throtal 5000+ rpm) so ive being safe and satyed off full boost. I then had my new turbotech (off ebay and has being featured in hot-4's mag) so i poped it in and like the diffrence, boost came on much stronger and stayed at it's set level (14psi) but i noticed it's detonating still, so i had a try at adjusting it. bad idea it's still detonating and now doesn't pull has hard. Im planing on getting it on a dyno to set the boost but could i also be looking at spark plugs and or coil pack's on the way out. I have had a bit of a look but nuthing that realy answers my question.
  7. My agent took $550 for a cleaner as she allowed new tenets to move in before i could get the place cleaned. so she orgonised it by her self. FFS am waiting on bond being 3 days
  8. i think its one of those things where you can take a horse to water but you cant make it drink. you just have to give people the best opportunities. and perhaps a minimum amount of hours clocked with a driving instructor (harder to forge) is the key here. these should be subsidised so as not to encumber lower income families, though. my girlfriend was the same, she wouldnt drive anywhere and i had to wait until i got my full licence to help her get her hours up in the car. im happy driving with her now because i taught her 100 of the 120 hours and were gonna do one of those advanced driver training courses. anyone know of a good one in vic south? I have attended two. mercotts defencive driving- was a 18th bday present and was quite happy with that one. the speeds all the practical were done at were 40-60km/h did the 2nd one when i got my own car (6 months after turning 18) with AAMI insurance as it was free. didn't like it as the speeds were much lower 30-40km/h and didn't realy show what could happen.
  9. training that shows you how to 'read' the traffic. this is supposed to be addressed by driving with your parents everywhere from the time you get you learners. the age to get you learners needs to be decreased then- to give drivers a better chance to learn this crucial skill so you dont pull out in front of that semi. The problem with this is some parents dont cear or the l-plater's dont wona drive or get it and hold it for the little amount of time. so when they do thier test (which is easy) the pass then wona drive every wre but have hardly and exsperance. e.g my self and my sister 1.5 years in age diffrence. me i got my licence as soon as i could and drove every time we went some were (not with mum tho) i would fight my dad to drive to the point of aguments and i did this for two years. my sister got her p's at age 20 hardly drove, and got a driving lesson before her p-test. my record. 0 crashes hers 3 (minor bingles) i was even afraded to sit in the car wither her casue of her driving. yes vic does now require 120H for l-platers but how easy is this to forge?
  10. 5 points for year is not bad. basicly means one decent offence and 2 time you losse your licence. or even FWD car's for p-plater but then what happens when they go RWD on their full licence and get a bit tail happy in the wet?

  12. Yea i think that was him porn*injapan on boost yea got it dynoed the other day at 138RWKW at 14psi and 15.3 @ 90mph before winding up the boost. looking at a r33 turbo and r34 smic atm
  13. Did see the add for ACA story tomorow night on speeding drivers in school zones. One driver commondore looked like VP had "HOON" accross the front windscreen as if it were a HOLDEN SITCKER. Either some one wonts the cops to catch him or he is a real idot. I fell for my brother as when he gets his p's in 4 years will he be able to do or drive anything other then a lawnmower or golf buggy with rally light set up

I got done when i was 20 for speeding inc a defect when i went to work the next day my boss pushed me to go to calder park and a track meet (ended up being winton) were i relised that i didn't realy know how to drive. and i still dont. im 23 now and just started drifting and ive spent more time facing the worng way then completing a drift. i also did the mercotts driver denfencive driver trg.

Just saw a news artical on chanel 10. basicly a vic roads think tank has come up with some ideas to help reduce the road toll. these include. banning p-plate drivers from driving at night. speed limiters on cars tougher demeit points system (i believe this was for p-platers) also targeting drink drivers there were a few others but cant rember also the roads minster said p-platers are only 13% of total road users but 25% of total crashes. When will the goverment understand it need's to be driver training and not tougher rules. dam soon you wont be able to do anything in a car unless u have a adult in thier till you get a full licence. then we see a incress of 21-26 yo as the major percentige in crashes, due to inexsperance.
  16. Just wondering how offten you guys get pulled over. I've had my 32 4 door for 6 week's now and have yet to have a cop follow me or pull me over. btw ive relised i got a head light out. e.g such as driving down road cop is on side road turning to same flow as trafic as me. would clearly see i have head light out but pulls out in front of me. they see me turn on to same road as them dont bother slowing down, or if they have come up from behind they dont pull in behind me. i thought i would have being pulled over or followed at least once so far.
  17. Ive dont it many atimes and it's fine. if you have exsposed pod filters cover them and keep the water away from them. dont wont water on the inside of your eng. Also once washed and removed pod filter cover i get it running to help it dry and stop water from pooling were it shouldn't while i wash the rest of the car.

Ok random, brought my 32gtst 4 weeks all good, a/c has being fine but i dont use it much. then one day i did use is at it was pumpin out hot air when i had it set to 18dec and was at feet insteed of face. no i thought this may have had something do with fitting a manual boost controller and boost gauge. but i asked my wife as she had driven it earler befoe doing said work and said it did the same thing. it does it also on econ and you can fell the heat comeing threw when you have it turned off. im lost

  23. Seen the moonface racing ones. Would they do the same job as say the ikea formula ones. my problem is the LCA angle is on a upward slope wona bring it back down.
