  1. OK i forgot about the Ti bumper, its out the back still. I'll pass on the wheels, I dont want anything bigger than 16"
  2. flange wont need modification. the last bend before the pipes go rear-ward will maybe need bending. (just depends, not every set out there is the same. there are a few manufacturers) clear lexan/perspex or whetever the lights are made of is very hard to repair properly. most adhesives and epoxy will make the inside go all foggy and shit. your best bet is to just use the Aus lights, hotplates arent that special (car wont go any faster)
  3. AAAAAH this car!! I know it well...Randy from Nissco (in Halbert St Bayswater) built it with his son Vincent (orig owner a few years back) They commented that it was one of the only FJ's they had to chain down on the dyno as it kept trying to jump off the rollers! Came on boost VERY hard. WOW this looks so much better too... what did you use for the lower half paint? details??? I really like the rims, they look like what was going around in 1984. What $$$ you chasing? Get it finished for the Skyline Nationals too, only a few months to go. September.
  4. What just happened? someones gotta be on the turps for sure....
  5. only option is yahoo japan (import monster) OR get a cistom one made up (not actually all that hard either)
  6. ya, twas full of oil and mush!
  7. More fiddling about today f*kt my finger on the angle grinder, bloody dickhead not using gloves! the loom is finished, 270cc injectors ready to plug in, fuel rail cleaned up stripped back the 'TURBO' rocker cover, looks horn as all brushed/polished. But will be primering and painting later got more bits on order (Silicone reducers and shiz) scored a HUGE BOV, HKS< from jdm land. needs a good stripping but will look & perform great.
  8. kool, I got something else up my sleeve, thantks though.
  9. No probs, I called your mrs this arvo to give you a hurry along! I took a punt and ordered the silicone joiners today, hopeing they are all going to fit etc..... also got a supplier of stainless steel piping, at $38 per meter for 2.5 inch (63mm) and not many options here in Canberra... I have decided to use the XR6 intercooler, its a good size, strong, great quality. its only let downs are the OD of the outlets, at 2.25 inch. so I have to get reducers to suit. So there IS an action plan to have this all finished and tuned and ready to roll (as in tested and fixed etc) by August/Sept. I got a big A1 sheet of paper and mapped it all out, with time frames and task lists etc.
  10. Some progress this weekend. Sorted the radiator, got a few new hoses on order (delivery this week) waiting on fabricator to send me the custom turbo compressor outlet, have finished the loom for the microtech (need to keep a few wires connected to the L24e ECU though, to control the 'Thermotime' switch and the auxiliary air valve) tested and cleaned teh VL turbo injectors, new hoses and clamps cleaned up the fuel ral got new bosch 040 fuel pump, gotta get new hoses for it should have Radiator, thermostat, new hoses all installed this week, as well as the new injectors and microtech ECU. Car does run ok on the Microtecheven with the turbo tune on it. next up will be finalising if i will intercool or not (with only 9 weekends to go till I want to do a testing weekend before running all the way to Skynats in Adelaide!) silicone joiners are getting cheaper, but the BEST ones are in the UK, and I cant get them to send me here in Aus! grrrrrr!
  11. hah! ass picker! Looks very good, much jealous!
  12. Infact cancell that, I got too much to do on my Hatch... (gotta concerntrate to get the fuccer finished)
  13. Can you pm me the vin number, engine number, and a pic of the mod plate? I need to follow a few things up to see what is needed for Canberra Rego (tight arses)
  14. There is much info on this topic, bottom line is that they go great as N/A (with tripples) but once you put a turbo on it reliability goes out the window due to the bore thickness being reduced so much. If you REALLY wanted to boost it you would need to sleeve the bores (meaning EXPENSIVE AS!) there is a siamesed f54, and a non-siamesed f54, cant rememember which is better! If your looking at doing this with the HR30, I'd suggest a L28 with some very decent add-ons. will get you over the 200rwkW mark if done correctly. Head combination and camshaft is the key, as well as matching the turbo to the engine (not the other way round) Keep an eye out for Adaptronic ECU, oz built and owned and is extremely good. Contact Stewart Wilkins in sydneyor Randy at Nissco in Bayswater/Vic they know who does what
  15. there are 5 different VG turbos, post up some pics and that will help a hell of alot more.
  16. you got a scanner>>???
  17. check if there is a resistor pack (silver boxes bolted to the body with wires goin in and out) in teh injection loom
  18. I'd like to offer a hand to anyone that needs it. I just need to confirm I have no work that day, but yeah, If you need a pit monkey or photos or just to tell you if your bum looks big let me know!
  19. What I would do with $2000, turbo it, or L28 with Adaptronic and extractors
  20. Score!!!! do they want the headlight covers too???
  21. Went for $5700 to a Sydney-sider, not G but someone 10 min away.... Sounds like it will be looked after though
  22. Hey what is that piping yuo have used on the intake on the Ti???
  23. Very glad you have let us know this. I had contemplated a ,anual conversion for some time. Now by reading this it wont be a 'weekend' job after all. This week I have received an auto shift kit and some other bolt ons, so I should be ok for the next 100kW or so.... Good luck making the new one... please take some pics and document what is needed for us other auto drivers!
  24. Can you provide us with some recent Picxs, and What is needed to get it regoed again? Have you got all the paper work? are there any other repairs needed to get it all sorted? Sounds like an easy project (surprised you are selling actually!)
