  1. not for under $2000 and the R31 rear suspension is basically the same if its IRS or not, just the stroke length is different I agree about the spring rates! You will get cracks in the welds in the chassis, seen it many times on the old girls.
  2. good work! if you find a new windscreen let me know where you got it, might come in handy for others. R31 Rears suspension could be an easy fit too, plenty of Ozzy spring options then aswell.
  3. I have a clutch master cylinder spare, and a speedo cable Im not going to convert, if anything a KEAS shift kitted E4n71 with kevlar bands... harharhar
  4. I have nearly bought one on 3 occasions over the last year, main thing stopping me was insurance would be $1200, and Im 27 with good ratings etc. Just keep that in mind, Also dont believe the km's on the ODO, a guy rocks up to the export places and changes them for $50, industry standard. have seen turbo ones for $13,000 on road from a dealership, pretty good price really. on carsales there is a 4 door with full R34 GTR running gear, mental mods, wants $32,000 last I checked. looks horn!
  5. For Nth American vehicles, possibly look at doing a conversion to the 240sx, or Z31 300zx turbo. there are also coilover kits available from Japan, not cheap though. I could arrange to have a pair of DR30 struts sent over, might be pricey but can look into it if youre keen. (i can weight them and get dimensions etc)
  6. Have you listened to the new question-time... I cant help but laugh... seems a bit more structured though, not as much as a sh1tfight. Im trying to get to 'spectate' after work during the week. My house is only 1.4km away (up near the roundabout to red-hill lookout)
  7. Theres a place in the US that make billet stub axles to go into the Subaru Sti R180, just bolt on the shafts to match and its done. heres an aussie approach to the problem http://ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&...lit=subaru+R180
  8. Fairly sure its the long nose. Looking at the pics on ebay, the shortnose comes out of the S15 and R33 and stuff like that. Then the Longnose comes from HR31 and DR30 Skylines, Z31 300zx Give SWR a call, or better yet drop in and say hi.
  9. Yeh, makes me wish I kept all those ones I sent to the scrappers.
  10. the Z31 in my driveway has a rebuilt 4N71b with $2500 in receipts (apparently) so Im hopeing the L series bellhousing will bolt on and somehow I can use it! Otherwise a rebuild will be on the cards... quite pricey too by the sound of things. Same box as the VL commodore so there are shift kits available too.
  11. Im after a 4 door R23. Send me some pics and contact details and see what we can do! habib_tupperware@live.com.au Im in Canberra
  12. I filled my hoses & trans cooler before installation so there was minimal air. Transmission is staying cooler, but the fluid is grey and silty, plus it wont hold gears when cold. I think its time for a replacement. The RB30e has a bolt on top of the plenum to purge the air out of the cooling passages (highest point) especially a problem in the VL commoores as they ar on a slightly different angle to the R31. the 2x VG30det in the garage have the air outlet, might not be standard though
  13. Oh cool im excited to see this too. I have a few fabricator contacts, and if you need any shop drawings done let me know, Im a Cad monkey for ActewAGL (and others) pm me if you need a hand! Cheers & welcome, Andrew
  14. Where the hell would you find a 2000GT ? Ive been looking for 4 years and havent found one yet!
  15. Saw the Silver R33 with black and red nismo decal kit near the RSPCA / Cotter Road Intersection. (i dont remember his name etc)
  16. Nah, I didns see any bids on them. send him a message on ebay tehy look like they would howl
  17. Just in addition to above, I thenk there is a 'short nose' R200 then a 'long nose' R200, Will have to verify, but the 1988 Z32 R200 will bolt in, with the only major hassle is the tailshaft flange needing changing to suit the bolt holes. (different PCD)
  18. cawww nice!!!! I did have a near comlete 5 speed conversion in the hatchback parts car, but ezy scrap own i now. send me a pm if you want to sell, im after a 4dr sedan for a new project
  19. R180 to R200 is not a simple exercise. The 4 main bolt holes will need to be Lower, and more forward. Bottom line is custom modification to the rear cradle. I have a mate who has a R200 setup ready to go into a MR30, may be able to take some pics to clarify what is needed. Secondly, how much power are you hopeing for to actually need a R200 diff?? oh and congrats on the project, much jealous
  20. zomg thats a much better price!!!! Im not in the market though, but nice car!
  21. one thought: Inline Suspension in Queyanbeyanyanyangalininni
  22. I can highly reccomend Hypergear Performance They do a deal where you send the original to them in Melbourne, then they send it back fully rebuilt and balanced, with a 12month warranty etc too. also there is an option to get the wheel(s) replaced with better ones, machined out exhaust housing, or compressor housing to suit. http://digi-hardware.com/turborebuild.htm The owners name is Tao, nice guy, very easy to deal with. Lots of experience too (he is likely in the sponsored section of the classifieds on this forum)
  23. Yahoo have them occasionally as well as Jenesis, (they have carbon fiber look alikes, perfect!) I am 'THIS' close to getting a custom set made every set ive pulled out at the wteckers fell to bits too....
