Gtr 33 Or Evo 7 Or Etc Etc Etc
a20089 replied to Adz2332's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
From your descriptions of what you want there's two options 32 GTR Vspec or 33 GTR (either vspec or not) Pick which one you like the look of. After that start replacing everything. Both are at the age where modding the engine too much may blow it. Get a new engine and certainly new turbo's. Get new suspension, either car is 10+years old and will be a bit saggy. Probably need new front disks New clutch. Get this thing http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Gt...40&start=40. It makes such a difference. -
Yep if you’re over 25 and house the car in a garage then Shannons is hard to beat. That price you provided sounded OK, however look at the excesses and the conditions

Sorry I took off last night, looked at the time and pick up my meat tray :-)

Spotted a white 33S on the parkway, very cute girlfriend in the passenger seat. And the owner should be a member with the SAU sticker on the car. Yes I was on the bike
-
Not a bad time at all, similar to mine. Then again I'm going to have some flash new tyres for the next track day and hoping for some 1.10's

Spotted ladybytes on the parkway today. Yes I was the bike...

Some basics RB26 much more solid engine for making big horsepower. 300rwkw long term without changing anything inside the engine 4wd, yes it makes so much difference Standard Brembo's No not all lower lips are black, but they tend to look better that way. They always scrape anyway. Instruments are pretty much the same, with an extra front torque guage for the 4wd. Suspension that can handle a race track Bigger and better wheels etc etc

Where should I start with a review of this unit? I'll be brutally honest as is my way. Installation in an R33 GTR. Packing: Received neatly packaged in a postpack. The sealed bag for the unit looked great except when turned over and it showed the "glad bag" logo. The CD was hand written and the wiring diagram was also hand drawn. I thought, OK it's a well presented but certainly back yard job. Contents: The main unit is well put together and neat. The little switch supplied in my opinion is too small for usage when the car's going full throttle so I purchased another larger one. The 9 pin connector surrounds were made for male connectors or the supplied screws were not long enough to use, so did not allow for a screw in connection between the 9 pin connectors. A bit of tape was used to over come this. Installation: Fairly painless, I used a mate that was a mechanic and owned a GTR as well. The wiring diagram left one connection a bit up in the air but using a voltage meter we found the correct connection. The wire colour in the instructions is correct up to a point but after a certain point the wire colours change. Nothing too painful to overcome. Unit use: A breeze, After reading the unit manual I was worried I'd need to program the unit. Not at all, just press up or down instant and automatic save. I started on map 2 with 65 gain to test the unit and felt a dramatic change. After a few small roundabouts I lowered this to 55 gain and now with more confidence I have lowered this to 40 gain. That provides great grip for small roundabouts and sharp corners where there isn't the room to slide the car around. This is my main setting. I have also been playing with map 4 30 gain for the second setting, which allows for bigger corners without the understeer the map 2 creates. No track work yet, but from road tests, the faster the corner the less gain you need. Wet weather, max gain on map 2 really helps around town. Best features: This unit allows you to set up the car to your likings, if you drive on a lot of small roads and don't get the opportunity to go fast, in general the higher the gain setting the better. If you enter fast and wait to plant your foot, or enter slow and power all the way out you can set the unit accordingly. The ability to switch between two map settings on the fly is very useful. What more could you want?: Having used the two settings for small corners and medium corners, I could do with another one for big sweepers. But then I'd probably want yet another one after that and I'd never be able to flick the switch to the right location in the heat of race. At 256 setting options there's plenty of choice. Also seeing the unit change the signal from the G Sensor, why not allow the other longitudinally sensor be changed? Giving full control over the car. Summary Apart from the careful packaged but back yard look to the packaging and a couple of very minor items there's nothing to fault the unit on. It does what it says it does and is very easy to use. (data logging option not used). Other unit are for R32 GTR's only but this one works safely with all of them. I stand by my comment that this should have been standard fitment to the GTR. I'll post some pics sometime of my install. Why is this not being actively sold in the forums here? The slightly cheaper unit seems to sell like hotcakes but it's far less of a unit that this.

Yes them indeed, I tend to consider them part of SAU anyway. Would probably be on a Friday due to costs.

If you search for Power FC manual on the forums you will find a great manual a member has created. As for knock, I generally run 1-15 with 23 being the highest I've seen. People's opinions differ but up to 50 could be considered "safe".

As said in general the complete car will sell for more than the second hand parts. The exception to this is the mods. People are often interested in aftermarket gear. Saying that I'd love a 6speed gearbox. The hassle of stripping a car is too much unless you have to strip it.

Yep I'm going to do one, but probably next year with the RS's

That seems a little how shall we say.... big brother ish. I fully understand the problems of liable etc and a similar website www.whirlpool.net.au has had many issues such as this. And not to try to sound funny but how you have interpreted this rule seems against the concept of being able to truthfully and fully report a situation. From the guidelines "No slander to be made towards businesses or individuals......any information that could be classed as slander or is an attempt in anyway to deter business from any individual or business on this website is the responsibility of the owner of the website and all legal liability falls on said owner." Slander or defamation = "...adverse public statements about legal citizens presented as fact must be proven false to be defamatory or slanderous/libel" taken from Wikipedia but a common definition. The OP has proven in an Australian Court of law that his cause is true, he can not be slandering if sticking to the points of the case as accepted in law. The reproduction of an Australian court verdict can not be taken in anyway as slander if presented as is. It is merely a reproduction of court accepted truth. In either case there is no posibility of slander/defamation. The second point of the guidelines seems to be related to fear of the possible repercussions for liable but goes further and I can not clearly define what it is trying to say. 1. "an attempt in anyway to deter business from any individual or business on this website" Seems to be giving protection to anyone listing as a business on these forums (website). A commercial agreement for sure, and somewhat understandable, but is it the intent of the forum that nothing ever be said against someone that has paid PranK money? If so that has been broken many times (references available). In this case the shop does not seem to be a financial supporter of this website and the precedent of naming and placing details has been made many, many times, probably on a weekly basis. 2. "Detering business" is so wide and vague, by this point some of the traders own posts could be considered determinantal. I note it also says "feel free to post any information about a business or individual that you have had good dealings with." So we can't say anything bad but everything good? What about where Businesses have quoted prices on this website, then end up charging customers more. Yes I have the invoice from the websites biggest financial supporter as proof. I used all the good feedback on said business to base a judgement on my investment of thousands. Perhaps I should sue SAU for not informing ME of the business practices of said business. I know it has cost me $$'s. I am still in discussions with said business about this (if they ever bother to get back to me). Some rational please in the moderating. A god dam court of law has said what the truth in the matter is. -

It's a matter of public record now, you can post the name or to be ultimately safe, post the court transcript. -
