  1. If you have not already done so, swap out your AFM's, I have some spare. The 4wd light may be coming on as the engine is not powering the electrical system correctly.
  2. I mean the 3rd set could have been further up the hill, (the set before the set on top of the hill). Certainly not suggesting any more cones. When going hard I was in 4th gear between the 3rd and 4th sets of cones, no other section was that long and fast, and considering the nature of the road, it was probably one of the more dangerous areas at high speed. But this is only a personal opinion and just an area that I felt unsettled the car. The set out of the cones was well done overall.
  3. I've done it before and as you say it is too dangerous, faster speeds then Wakefield, but with off camber hairpin corners, jumps and no run off area. I think the top of the hill was a bit fast this time around, the cones could have been placed 20m further up the hill for my likings, but i'm a woose.
  4. Yea, someone took a photo of my car. Just seems to blend in, bad for track days, good for the road.
  5. Yippie, that makes me 2nd. Still 5 1/2 seconds behind Duncan though.
  6. Finally got a faster time then Grumblebee around a track this year. Yeah...
  7. Good day, big thanks to those who volunteered their time on the day. I conceed the title of greatest GTR/Driver combo to Duncan this round Video of one of my slow runs with a little sideways action near the middle. It looked a lot worse in the car trying to keep it on thrack.
  8. Get to the next SAU track day. Worth 10 times any defensive driving course. Fuel usage is similar if not worse then my heavily modded GTR, so a little on the high side.
  9. Too little time to organise to get there for me, but the track looks very fast. Maybe the HSV and NSCC clubs would like to attend the track day in Canberra on this Saterday, looks like lot of spaces left.
  10. Yeah took longer then I thought to get stuff together. My suspension is so not going to like this, rock hard and jumps don't got well together.
  11. Just got car back today, all paid into account just now. I will need to complete form on the day as printer is not working currently. Can I please have number 33.
  12. Looking forward to seeing some skylines. Probably the last niht out before it gets really cold
  13. Deziner, I'll be out tonight if you want to see what I've done to my car.
  14. Good to know, aust post would be much more. Great bit of kit. I have one.
  15. Awesome kit, bit boomy for music but gun battles get real good. Shipping for the kit would cost nearly as much as the items, that sub is really big and heavy.
  16. Honda? Or totally stock boosted GTR with updated turbo's and oil mods.
  17. link form the last track day, just short ones with a bit of action. 1.08.788 was best for the day. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/395799-wakefield-wrap-up-thread/page__st__120 Thats cheap second hand coilovers, stock suspension apart from that. Running PULP, driving to the track and back.
  18. It does not have RPM duh... Have you seen the car at a SAUNSW trackday anytime recently? And any of the multiple video's posted from the in car cam. I am also not disputing a smaller turbo comes on sooner, physics tells you that, just the use of -5's will not leave you for dead in the twisties. Again I am "just pointing out there's nothing wrong with -5's on a RB26 without internal work." And they get better when you get some major work done.
  19. Search seems to work fine Read this thread, one forged one going for 3500 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/398645-wtb-rb26-block-crank-forged-26-rods-and-pistons/page__hl__engine__fromsearch__1 Deposit taken but often falls through, get in quick http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/397934-complete-r33-gtr-series-3-rb26dett-engine/page__p__6332764__hl__engine__fromsearch__1#entry6332764 possible http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/398576-rb26-long-engine-only-missing-hot-side/page__p__6336066__hl__engine__fromsearch__1#entry6336066
  20. Will do, I don't like the format of the current one I have (if I can find it), so next dyno I'll post up in the appropriate thread. Of cause different dyno's, setting etc make them not the best to compare unless they are side by side, so they could easily miss a 200rpm difference. And yes the -5's seem to like either a little more boost or a larger displacement to get to their sweet spot, so if 300kw is your goal then go smaller, if you want the option of more power you should consider the -5's.
  21. Trojan don't have one sitting around?
  22. As someone who has done this (and still doing it), I'd suggest a couple of stages. Stage 1 Part 1 Turbo's -9, -7 -5 (the smaller the better if you want response) GT'SS good but not worth twice the price of -7's Exhaust including dumps and high flow cat I think this should be able to be done without needing a tune, if it needs a tune save the money and get a computer (part 2) Part 2 Computer, Haltech or Vipec most common and easy to work on with great support in Australia, unsure on the HKS Fcon pro, your choice. Cam gears Tune Expect 260-280kw, fuel being your limiting factor. Stage 2 Injectors, EG IDC1000 Fuel pump Fuel regulator Cams (if you want them) Tune Expect 320kw, depends on how hard you want to work the stock engine, this set up is good for much more power with more boost. Stage 3 Full suspension approx $5000 in new parts + labour Upgraded brake discs and pads DS2500 or Nismo's highly rated Stage 4 big brake kit (optional if you find you need it) EG $5000 AP front kit Stage 5 Rebuild Stage 5 can happen any time Most here can recomend ESP and Trojan (more good news then bad news anyway). Budget at least 20% more money then quoted for unknown problems that need to be fixed at the same time.
  23. There seems to be a consensus on this, but I'll put some basic facts into this thread to dispute this quote. Knowing every car and driver is also different also, but I have -5 on a stock rb26 with the basic upgrades, ECU, Boost, injectors, fuel pump, air intake, cam gears (currently set to 0) 20PSI 310kw+. This seems very common based on the rb26 thread. The car is fully stock apart from the engine and yes it is laggy to my likings, but not much more so then when it was stock or others I have driven with -7's or GT'ss. Making good boost around 4000 and coming on full around 4500. However there's not many GTR’s getting around Wakefield at the NSWSAU days faster than this car, particularly if you discount the race cars. So yes the -5's can push a track car and fast, there's nothing wrong with them and those -7, -9 or gtss will not leave you for dead, it's not that simple. Saying that, yes I did purchase the -5's with the dream of putting a stroker kit in the car one day, So not really disagreeing, just pointing out there's nothing wrong with -5's on a RB26 without internal work.
