I know I do; I'm so totally wrecked after yesterday though, can't believe I'm awake right now. Got some OK-ish shots, I just don't think my head was in it yesterday. Blah. Haha, totally freaked me out when you slapped me but I worked it out quick enough

frickin laaaser beams on their heads Unrelated, 25mm ext. tube on the 28-200 makes it very hard to take photos because you have to have the object pretty much touching the lens to focus on it...

Taser wasn't used on that guy. Was used on his brother. He got capsicum'd and baton'd around the legs; CCTV has confirmed this.

So how do you do these, are they long exposure and you run a light around the outside of it?

Taken with a P+S a while ago (Panasonic FZ35)...

You're f**king kidding me. I thought you'd realised that being an idiot on a public forum isn't a great idea to do. Obviously not. Highway Patrol are trained to be dickheads to people like you, and this is from an undercover officer's mouth (not mine). I was pulled over by one a while ago and had a bit of a chat (friendly too, because I was polite even though I was in the wrong) and was saying how HP have a bad rep in the car scene, and was told they're told to be like that, to catch out people who fire back. That is all. Next time you get pulled over, throw away your hatred for a second, be polite and helpful, and watch their tone change. Requesting a lock. PLEASE.

But I like my eyes...

You've obviously had bad experiences. We haven't. By your logic, maybe all people who post on SAU shouldn't be so one-sided. Shoe on the other foot.

QFT But: If it's the guy @ the Dragons aftermatch, he wasn't tasered, but you're right, he was fighting with cops. You NEVER fight with a cop. There is NO excuse. No matter how much of a prick they might be to you (and I'd say that's fairly few and far between), you be polite to them. Why? Because it's common courtesy, and if he's going to get you for something, then being polite won't hurt your chances. You be hostile, and sure, they'll grin, because they know they have the power. I don't know how many times I've had to tell this to people, just go along with what they're asking, and everything ends up easier. If it's truly unreasonable and outside their jurisdiction, sure, but in general, just cooperate and all of a sudden things get so much easier. Guy after Dragons match: Don't fight with a cop. Guy in Sefton: Don't run at cops with knives. They have a job to do, and being hostile doesn't help anyone. Fantm1: Good to hear you got it sorted out; you're right, there are a few assholes out there, but there are a LOT of good cops out there just trying to do their job. I have nothing but the utmost respect for a lot of them.

Got it Only problem is the link is a misnomer, the "Events" section... But wasn't specified under the NSW section.

I'll be in for some of that

Um.... R33GT? as in GTS? as in N/A? Not gonna happen. You could put 22's on it.

Sounds like southbound @ Heathcote Caltex? Jesus, that's some jump for him to go across to come after you (if that's the place)

There's a lot of hearsay about this... Tristan, you've gotta be a "delivery driver making frequent stops" or similar to be eligible for the <25km/h exemption. Jake, carparks can actually be enforced by police (unfortunately in this instance). The problem is that they're saying that she wasn't wearing her belt all the way from her work to the carpark. Until video footage comes out (both police and the footage from the carpark), we're all just speculating. If she was doing the right thing and it's the officer being VERY picky, then yeah, it's an abuse of discretionary power. If she had truly done the wrong thing, then she should suck it up. Will be interesting, though.

Car Accident Drams, Help Needed/advice From Experience
oweban replied to Yts's topic in New South Wales
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's a double line there, according to the pictures you took in the first post? Therefore making it illegal to do a U-turn? If the RTA Road Users Handbook says that, politely invite them to review the handbook on page number 94, and then review the photos taken of where the accident occurred. Fight this like hell. Refer to the second point in the attached image (as stated, on page 94 of that handbook). -
I agree with a number of your points; a greater presence would encourage people to slow down more than the hidden cameras (cops hiding behind rails etc). I understand the idea is that they can be "anywhere", so to always stick to the limit, but the truth is that people are always going to speed. Watch what happens when a HP cruises along at the limit; NOONE will speed around him. I thought the gap they wanted to fill was 103 mil? But there's one in Bulli, NSW that got 6 people last year apparently. Now they'd consider that a failure cause it made fk all money (like $1350 or something), but I consider it a win; it would be VERY easy to speed through there, but the camera makes you slow down. A well-done camera, IMO. All in all though, on the freeway, if you're speeding, you run the risk of getting caught. I know 100 can be very boring, and I've been booked for speeding myself, I'll admit fair and square, I was doing the wrong thing and got done. So I've learned my lesson, and slow down now (and wish and wish and wish that there was a cop around when P-platers scream past at 140km/h). There'll always be two sides of this; if they don't want people speeding then they can modify cars so they have GPS and can't go over the speed for the zone Although then the whole "big brother" thing kicks in... There'll never be a way to get everyone to do the limit. Then you'd get people in 60 zones doing 60 around sharp corners sigh.

The moral of the story is that radar detectors are illegal in NSW. Don't speed, don't get caught. /thread

Ahh, maybe it just didn't have enough charge before. Was pressing it and nothing was happening... Currently having a strobe-rave in my office, this is awesome (so are free batteries)!
