  1. Different wheel-sizes front to back?
  2. Think I just managed to source one - should be on it's way in the post anways .. fingers crossed! .. really looking forward to the install now
  3. Or just run the HICAS diagnostics and find / fix the problem
  4. mmm .. R34 GTR MFD should be going into my GTT later this week - I can't decide if it's an overly ricey modification or not
  5. Any more pics of this car? ...
  6. Has any of this sold? More information on the GTR bonnet damage?
  7. Don't mean to butt in - but as he's in South Australia - he needs to be very aware of the laws here and what can/will be defected by the police, and picked up by a Regency inspection. Aftermarket turbos (apparently people get by with high-flows because it uses the same external housing), aftermarket ECUs, boost controllers, turbo-timers, bigger AFMs, bigger injectors etc are basically out .... this ultimately leaves major power-gains pretty much unattainable unless you are willing to risk it and having a fail-back plan to reverse the modifications (with associated labor costs) each time you get sent to Regency for an inspection ..
  8. Been both an internode and iinet user for about a decade now - can highly recommend them both My experience with the internet industry in Australia (working for various ISPs and telcos over the years) says stay away from most of the cheapos - tpg, dodo etc
  9. SA Transport - Window Tinting Laws That is so bloody awesome - I'd heard rumours of this coming in, but it's good to see it's a definite. I can finally get my R34 fronts darker than factory (and maybe closer to matching the factory privacy glass rears). Woot Woot Woot! *happy*
  10. Is it just me or is every second-post on here the last few weeks from some nubtastic P-plater with a 'great idea'?.. It's gotta be school holidays
  11. *grumbles about people who have today as their last working day* I'm working right up till xmas (24th), and then back again on 29th .. no rest for the wicked! For the first time in four years, I'm at least not on-call for work over the xmas break (nothing better than having your xmas interrupted at 3am in the morning because a server has crashed..)
  12. With your situation, with an aftermarket steering wheel - it could be that your boss isn't one that is HICAS compatible - not all of them are. In that situation, the boss won't be activating the steering wheel angle sensor so the car doesn't know what angle you're steering at. (And of course, cant detect your steering movement to enable HICAS diagnostics). I've also previously run into a situation where (with a factory wheel) my steering angle sensor was off - but for me, it was actually the entire rack that was out, and had to be re-adjusted so that the steering wheel sensor registered centered properly.
  13. Diagnostics are the easiest way to figure out what's wrong - I had some recent HICAS probs that I had to dig into the R34 Workshop manual and figure it all out (in my case it was a mechanic who had removed sensors and not replaced them properly - they're spring-loaded when mounted into the steering rack).
  14. Trying to find a reasonably priced MFD is the biggest problem I'm having right now
  15. Hey Josh - just thought I'd update you and let you know that my ECU is now fitted with the nistune, etc Thanks for the easy group-buy! Jenna
  16. Interesting - I've been reading the R34 Workshop manual and they talk about an 'automatic' setting for the lighting switch - but I'm buggered if I can find anything like that. Playing with the sensor on the dash seems to do nothing with interior or exterior lights - maybe mine's busted? I might have to run through the diagnostics in the manual - but without having this switch in the 'automatic' position, I'm not sure it's going to help me...
  17. Automatic lights?
  18. Damn, you're doing all the bits I've been wanting / pining on doing since i saw them on Import Monster .. I really need to talk to you about getting like a roll or enough to do all my interior bits, sedan b-pillars (twice as much as coupes), etc. I've just about given up trying to get it through the distributors themselves...
  19. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Oh .. and if I didn't say it enough - Thankyou!
  20. Oh god, please please please please please remove this f**king annoying feedback button. It's annoying, it's intrusive and you cant make it go away. I've looked, I've clicked it, I've tried - nothing makes it go away. Even an unlogged in user gets it so I cant even use that as a workaround. I f**king *HATE* it. Make it go away or an option to make it go away, PLEASE I've added my feedback with it already saying I'd love to see it removed (or even the ability to hide it would be fine). The site is really making me not want to use it any more - I'm finding it *that* annoying.
  21. What about taking a note from the latest HPI - Toyota Crown Estate Athlete V?
  22. Well, I ended up talking to the local seller of 3M products, and they no longer deal with DI-NOC. They did provide me the details of the 3M rep for South Australia who they assured me would be able to assist, but many phone calls later I still haven't been able to get hold of them.... So right now, I honestly don't know what I can say with regards to price. Yeah, applying the actual product doesn't look like it would be too bad - my worry is mainly around trying to remove the small wind deflectors that sit on top of the vinyl. I've heard these are very easy to damage, and they seem to be attached with a mix of very old double-sided tape & screw-mounts. The other consideration for us sedan owners vs coupe owners is we have to apply twice as much - adding to the costs - because both the front doors and rear doors have a spot for it. I definitely want to fix mine, I hate seeing the sun-damage and other damage my factory vinyls have - just need to get hold of the product, and build up the confidence to take it on!
  23. So whiteline - since selling their Selby-swaybar arm - are no longer manufacturing their swaybars in Australia using Australian steel? That's the sort of response I'm looking for. I've googled and googled and all I can find is websites saying they're the exact same product (I'm guessing because historically they were). Anyone else?
  24. I've priced up the same swaybars that I would want for my car from a local whiteline supplier, and compared against these prices and there's only about a $30 overall difference if I were to purchase both front and rear. I imagine that saving would get quickly eaten up in p&h from Sydney to Adelaide by going for a Selby bar. So - from what I understand, Selby swaybars used part of Whiteline, but has in more recent times split off under Bob Tait (who is/was? a Whiteline Directors/principal). Additionally, Selby use the old Whiteline manufacturing facilities. So - that begs the question - what's the difference between purchasing from Whiteline and Selby - other than the color - is the product / quality / performance any different/better? The model codes for the associated Whiteline vs Selby swaybars are pretty much identical, and so is the website itself - which also begs questions. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if you (anyone?) can give me a good reason why I would go Selby vs Whiteline?
