  1. slap a 25 head on it or a turbo.. NA mods are neither cheap.. nor worth it.. Bang for buck.. NA is hopeless..
  2. Whats the ABS pump goin for?
  3. LOL!.. he wanted it more driftable!
  4. No.. yiu dont have to.. but generally on older cars they tend to seize and be quite damaged from the heat from the exhaust.. i think you should be right with a 34 though.. I will post pics of heat wrapped headers tonight/tomorow
  5. Im willing to sell my kidney.. how much is this going to set me back!?
  6. Due to the induction, exhaust setup and size.. its only NA's perhaps a leak in your zorst?
  7. lol.. I know.. I just thought id start a thread where poeple can compair their new headers everyone will be getting from our recent group buy.. Things like.. torque.. powerband.. sound.. etc. etc. Ill be posting pics tomorow sometime when I install mine Just a refrence thread too for the future..
  8. Seeing as your in QLD.. and Im in NSW.. I got no clue on tracks up there mate.. sorry.. Have a look at Initial Dirft Australia.. or Aus drift.. or a drifing forum where you can find details where drift specific events are held in your area.. Yes.. petrol is a good idea as you will be thrashing your car all day.. similarly.. poeple can and do go a little crazy on the weight saving factor at track events and completely strip their cars interior.. its not necessery though.. Tools are a good idea if something roots itself.. and fluids.. fluids are a good idea.. coolant.. brake fluid.. oil.. water.. This is a typical preparation for a circuit trackday.. so its a little more hardcore than a first drift event.. really.. just a very basic box is needed with a couple of essentials.. Why not have a look as a specator before you do your drift day?.. have a walk through the pits and see what others bring.. (do bear in mind poeple bring hardcore back up as there are quite skilled drifters that acctualy need the support).. but i think you'll be fine for a first timer with the very basic things..
  9. Its not worth adding a 26 plenum on a 20 because the 20 had smaller head ports that all the other RB's.. so the entra flow the 26 offers will be "overwhelming" the 20 head. In terms of 26 plenum on a 25 head. Yes.. very good idea.. a 26 plenum (correct me if I am wrong).. but it has twin throttle bodies.. better flowing for air.. and a larger amount of air an be taken in through the 26 plenum. You can attach a 26 plenum on a 25 head via use of an adaptor plate. This is your best bet.. Plenums can be quite cheap (factor in exchange rate and your cheering).. Adaptor plates.. I do not know.. The Greddy plenums and 26 plenums are quite similar in design.. but a massive difference in price. Bear in mind by putting on a front facing plenum you will most likely need to relocate the battery to the rear and run a pod in the corner.. or.. if possible.. run piping down into the engine bay itself.. infront of the radiator.. (YAY HOT AIR! ) In a perfect world (where money or mod parts grew on trees) you would want to get individual throttle bodies.. virtually no flow or starvation to cylinder problems.. You will be wanting to modify your stock plenum.. or get an aftermarket or 26 alturnative as its quite hjard to reach a decent NA power figure on a stock intake manifold.. especially if you have had your port/polish done.. you will definately want to be taking full advantage of that too! Hope it helps Hesh
  10. Well yeah.. thats why I went the ghetto heat wrap approach..
  11. Hey mate.. is it a practice day?.. or a competition? If its a competition then id stay clear if you havent drifted before.. If its a practice.. then go for it!.. Its well worth the $100 - $160 (depending on who and where the track day is with)!!! Its awesome amount of fun!.. There isnt any NA hate when it comes to drifting.. you can drift an NA and I have seen people do it just as.. if not better in an NA than some turbos!.. If its your first time drifting I wouldnt worrie too much about tyres.. new kids usually dont end up in blisteringly long smokey drifts on the first drift event.. but then again.. you could be a quick learner..
  12. Hay guys!.. Well santa dropped off my coby extractors that we just got from the group buy!.. I was thinking we could start a thread on how and what we did to install.. and to compair the increase in responce etc. So feel free guys!.. cos Im off to buy some heat wrap..
  13. Can you heel and toe?.. I know its quite hard to keep a 1.5 in cheak when you give it a hiding or in the wet and you dont heel and toe down gears.. compression lock up is a biatch..
  14. Saw one recently on sale on e-bay.. have a look.. it was a fair price too!
  15. *sigh*.. its not a set of rb30 headers.. maby a set of 26 headers!?! You could always get the Autech ones.. lol..
  16. according to the workshop manual.. 52 is CAS and 53 is Vehicle speed sensor.. So 50 points! No worries brother..
  17. Without a doubt its a slipping clutch.. especially at those rpm And about the nasty zorst noise at 6K.. by then your pretty close to redline.. NVCS has well and truely kicked in.. cams are screaming off their chops.. its just a characteristic.. you will hear high comp NA's (like Hondas) screaming HARD and VERY raspy.. its just the sound it makes.. if you want to change the note.. a new muffler will solve your not problem without adding any more restrictions..
  18. I was in ur same predicament.. all honesty.. bugger it.. buy a GTS.. or buy a DE and engine swap..
  19. this thread still going? In my opinion.. if you want a slight increase in response and torque.. get a CAI (i.e such air from OUTSIDE the engine bay).. its not much.. but its noticable and quite cheap if you want noise.. stick it anywhere.. you will be sucking in hot air.. and probs be doing worse for performance than a stock airbox but its acheived your purpose of a "sick induction noise" Pannel filter is best of your keeping air box and will do just as well a pod. Pod is only worth it if you will be running piping to down and outside of the enginebay for cold air.
  20. Hay Albii.. Maby you should post up the pics I sent you of the block?.. someone may be able to identify them? Or post in the turbo section? Im 100% sure someone will be able to point out which one is which.. and then from there you can compaire with an NA block and see if the lines are blocked.. or you need to tap into the appropriate places..
  21. theres a single wire you cut from the ecu.. I have it saved in my faves.. Ill have a search and post back.. Hay Glen? What zorst do you have?.. It sounds so sexual!!!! Any other mods?
  22. As said all above.. get a set of rb26de headers and change the flange around to mate up with the rb26 head.. how did enlargening the wholes for the head studs go?
