Quick simple question for everyone. "Of all the mods performed to your car (maybe new suspension, exhaust, a set of wheels, stereo gear, even that monster tacho) which has brought the biggest smile to your face???" I may as well start off. My fav mod would be the splitfire coilpacks, as after 6 months of constant misfiring whenever the car hit boost, problem solved and for a mod that wouldnt increase the cars power, it gave me back a lot of missing power. Interested to hear everyone elses fav's Luke... (ps. purpose for this thread, secretly is to help sort the order my next group of mods)

Has anyone played this on PS2???? I want to get it. but every ps2 game ive bought lately is so watered down from every other version. Sadly the computer aint upto spec (it doesnt run test drive unlimited in lowest spec without slowdown issues), and not willing to fork out the money on a ps3 or 360 (money that can go into the REAL skyline) If anyone can back this game up as aight for ps2, ill part with the cash. I did see it at the hire shop. maybe i should do that.

Hey guys. Sorry to bring up such a covered topic. but after searching all last night and tonight reading through every post i could find. The topic of cat convertors seems to be very varied. Just about every brand ive been reading about has another topic claiming to have problems with that particular brand, whether it be poor build quality, poor performance or poor longetivity. Am i missing some posts showing that their is a proven budget cat convertor that wont disapoint. (only have performance goals of 200rwkw from an RB25), currently in the process of turning my Catback into a turbo back, in my Cat goals i dont want something that will promote a dronier exhaust note. Currently only have a povvo compliance cat. Now ive found this one on Justsr Does anyone have much experience with this brand, or do you's reccommend another brand for the same or less $$$$$$ Cheers for any help. Luke.

Are the R33 GTR seats similar to the R32 GTR seats. because they are good as compared to the 33 gts-t's. What sorta guesstimate $$$ figure would 33 gtr seats be worth???

We'll see how it goes. I dont want it rubbing. its already rubbed completely through the finish of an intercooler pipe, and in about 40 minutes of driving time marked a brand new strutbrace. im not all that keen on having to repolish/ replace stuff everything i want to take it somewhere decent.

Yeah i was thinking it could be partially a fire retardent. The only other thing i was thinking is it may prevent some heat being transferred to the outside of the bonnet (potenial burn risk, depending how hot maybe paint risk), but im not 100% as im the one asking the question

Hey guys. Just a quickie, My S2 R33 gts-ts bonnet has been rubbing on a few parts. I.e the intercooler pipe (worn the polish off the pipe) and i installed my new cusco strut brace last night and today it already is showing minor signs of rubbing. Now i believe it is purely from the piss poor lookin material lining the underneath of the bonnet. So ive taken it off and so far it appears that the rubbing should stop. Any experience with this as to whether removal of the material could effect the cooling of the engine bay and whether i could see any problems down the track whether i need to find a substitute material that wont wreck the finish on parts. cheers for any help Luke

Even without the turbo most people still mistake them as being turbo, tough looking car perfect for the new driver to legally step into an import For the GTS-t's. (Me) Fantastic budget performance car, esspecially when you compare it to the local market around the same price. Good performance, responds well to mods. Capable of being good at any obsticle you throw at it, (drift, circuit, drag, show) etc. For the GTR's. Cult Following, Capable of being as good as just about anything in any motorsport application provided you have the budget, proven track status, look hot. A realistic Dream Supercar esspecially with prices as low as they are atm.

Hey guys. Went into my local Bob Jane today and got some prices on 18's and 19's They are RJR Tremors (about the closet to the style im imagining that ive found so far, 5 spoke, bit of dish) not 100% sure of their quality and i relise they wont be up there with what Japan offers. These are the prices ive been given, your comments would be most welcome Rims 18" * 8 Hyper Black $247 ea 19" * 8 " " " " $347 ea Tyres to suit 18" 235/40*18 $179 to suit 19" 245/35*19 $249 (the tyre prices are for their budget tyres) I guess the main Questions are. Is the look of the 19's worth the reduction of ride quality over 18's, and is the look of the 19's worth the cost over the 18's???? And Mostly. Are these prices a Rip and i should shoot through and look elsewhere (I reckon i can do better for tyres through a mate. but I am more interested in your thoughts of the rims more so then the tyres I also havent tryed negotiating price either. so there may be room for this to move.

Hey guys. whilst out tinkering from time to time ive found that a lot of the line's clips and bits and pieces are fairly brittle and like to snap when u try to remove them. For example. when trying to pull the underside of the bootlid out. Im in the process of sounddeadening the boot atm and these clips are giving me the irrits. Any thoughts on the easiest way to get these out without breaking them. Another point ill add. Under the bonnet there is sum crappy foamish sorta material which is rubbing on my intercooler piping and wearing off all the shine. This is held together by the same sorta clips. If i was to remove this could it effect the way heat radiates through the engine bay? as im sure its there for some purpose. btw this is in a S2 R33 gts-t.. Cheers in advance. Luke

Whats wrong with having Gran Turismo on ur dvd player with big subs???? i installed my ps2 in the car today. The GT40 race car sounds awesome when you let the volume rip.

As the poll suggests. Ive just bought exhuast and cooler today. the big question being. On a silver car. are people leaning towards getting it out there for the world too see, or does the idea of concealing it partially to make people look twice to notice sound more enticing. The theme of the car is a clean street car. No bodykit or huge chromies planned. The other question. What sort of paint would be recommended as odviously some heat will be involved?? Also would a layer of paint normally reduce an IC's ability to lose efficiency??

True. Although it would be nice to have more ways of kicking the back end out then just by using the clutch. and. they are disc brakes. not drum brakes. 96 S2 R33 gts-t (sorry didnt mention previously)

Well. I dont intend on selling the skyline (at this stage). Although once further down the line ill be looking for a 2nd car as im getting close to that time when ill need a practical 4 door car with easy rear seat access. an empty boot. probably Auto in the hope i can convince the mrs to take up driving. Hence also small. So i guess that puts me in the market for something along the lines of a stocko civic sedan or just about anything along those lines. On a positive. With a 2nd car the Line could be pulled off the road for an overhaul without having to pull it apart and get it back together on the same day. Also been strongly considering gettin a cheap oldschool car to park in the corner of the yard to tinker with on the weekends. something with no intentions of getting it on the road. that i could practice things like spray painting, pulling engine parts out etc. Something like a S1 Rx7, Celica or 240z .

yeh thats my main concern being sound and quality. although the full (cheap) system did get plucked out of their book as a full kit. so its not just a bunch of random bits thrown together but yeh. its a tough call. but i have to admit. that blitz catback looked pritty horn.

Well. just got another quote today from a local exhuast shop. Full exhaust turbo back, mandrel bent including cat, and cannon muffler for $970. sounds good to me. But i think i would rather have a named brand. But i guess an exhaust is an exhaust at the end of the day. I can always change the muffler at the end of the day What are your thoughts? considering i can get a full exhuast for only a bit more then the blitz catback.

Hey guys. Getting bored tonight so i might as well try and sus out another of the small probs ive found in the Line The issue at hand. whenever the handbrake is pulled whilst driving. instead of being offered nice strong rear wheel braking. im given a nice loud screech. (roughly a similar sound to that of tired old brake pads rubbing metal on metal). Anyone had this happen and have a nice easy fix i could do this weekend?? cheers. Luke

During my travels of deciding whether to get wheels or an exhaust first on my 96 gts-t ive come across an ex display Blitz Nur Spec R 3" stainless CAT back exhaust (cannon with a 2nd muffler further down the pipe. which they said retails for almost $1000. they are offering it to me for $740. Firstly. does this sound reasonable. To complete the exhaust i still need a Cat and the front pipe. The price i was given for a front pipe (new- from a catalogue was $299) (blitz also) (This is all NOT installed) I guess the main question. Does the Cat back price sound good. as i can worry about completing the exhuast later. 2nd question. being 3" i assume it'll still bolt onto my stock cat until completed later down the track. And lastly and most importantly. I would love to here comments from people who have owned a Blitz exhuast (pref this model, but in general). regarding sounds levels on and off throttle. As far as doing the whole exhuast at once. I could. but i still need some coilpacks first, so trying to gain power before sorting that out would be pointless unless price is spot on. Not to mention a good set of 18"'s would at least make a standard looking S2 R33 stand out a bit more. Cheers for your thoughts. Luke

nah. i never give it any until the oil guage has settled. so it does it after the cars warmed up. but only on 7psi not on 5

ok. new development to my problem. the way i have the hi boost on the solenoid is via a 3 way switch allowing either hi boost, low boost or 2 stage. decided to flick the switch from hi mode back to being off (low mode). had no problem at all. for a couple of short trips. later in day swapped bak to hi mode. after a couple of accells. the problem started reoccuring. so when i get a chance i guess ill have to check my connections there. and maybe just deal with a couple less psi till i have time to get the car checked by sumone who knows more then me.

hard to decribe the sound, my first thought waz a light flapping sound???, then its sorta a clicking sound. i really dunno how id describe it, as far as ecu mods, nothing. doesn't even have an aftermarket exhuast at this stage, just pod and solenoid. so boost would be roughly 7psi either way, it never used to do it at all. then it suddenly started yesty morning, and has done it EVERY time the revs get up there since.. so its not really an intermittent thing. and yeh. the drop in power does feel slightly like a slight miss.

hey guys. hope this is in the right section. Yesterday my 96 r33 gts-t started playin up. the car has done almost 90,000km's (not even 5,000 with my ownership). only mods are an apexi pod, and the hi boost solenoid trick anywayz. as of yesterday. the started started playing up under acceleration. once it reachs about 5k rpm im feeling a slight hesitation in power. and the cars making a quiet clickingish sort of noise. the only time its doing this is under full boost in medium/high revs. (in all gears) has anyone experienced a similar thing? i really dont know how to explain it any better as im a bit new to performance engines. (haha ex car waz a lancer). does this sound like maybe an engine prob, turbo prob or hopefully sumthing simple??? any help/advice would be great. cheers in advance. Luke

in regards to this. has anyone had much too do with those adjustable mufflers that can be set to be straight through, or quiet??? (as seen in several magazines now) Does anyone have an idea of how loud a 3" turbo back, with sumthing like this (in db - set to its quietest setting) be on say an rb25?? p.s sorry if this is a hijack, although it could also be seen as a possible solution to the problem edit: apoligies, didn't notice the post directly above me
