  1. It really depends if its going to be a street car or a track car. As a street car I see a 335i as a step up. Don't get me wrong, I love R34 GTR's and might buy one one day once I step into my Engineering career, but comparing them relitively stock for stock I think the 335i has the whole package. Performance wise a 335i coupe has been tested many times by independent tests to do low 13's down the quarter and 0-100 in just under 5 seconds with the 6 speed steptronic transmission. That is bloody quick for a stock RWD car in any one's langauge. However everyone knows the 335i is relitevely "detuned" and with just an exhaust upgrade and ECU reflash people are getting into mid 12's and low 5 0-100. From what I have seen people have pushed the stock turbos to their limit and are getting into high 11's and low 4 0-100. So they definetely aren't no slouch and much like the R34 GTR, they just need some key breathing mods and tune to really get their potential out. It really does come down to personal tastes and what you are using the car far. While a Jap car always has good performance potential, it is very hard to make one classy and luxurious. On the other hand Euro cars definetely have this covered and most have a gorgeous leather and modern interior but may lack in the performance aspect and how easy they can be modified. Hence this is my reasoning of the BMW 335i, good balance between the two
  2. For a track car I agree. But I don't think that is what the OP is asking about. For a street car using it for going out to dinner or going on trips or whatever, I would feel like a dick driving one. They really do look like a toy car.
  3. I often discuss this with a couple of mates of what car we would choose for a "realistic" price that has a bit from every category and Japanese imports aside, for a true two door sports car around $100,000 that has good power, fantastic handling, great potential, luxury and class, the 335i to me would be my first choice.
  4. Ok first question, why can't you run 10 or more psi? What do you mean by the ECU isn't letting you?
  5. Not sure what you are on about but a HKS GT-RS does bolt onto a stock 6 bolt dump pipe. Considering a GT-RS actuator is 1bar, yes he is. I ran mine on the stock ECU at 1 bar for a while before i got a tune. It just runs rich and shit.
  6. Lately i've been running 33-35psi in the rear to get more grip on 255/35/18 (used to run 38psi). Seems to hold second on full throttle a lot better with only minor wheelspin now.
  7. Dave jump start the car, let it run for a bit (or take it for a quick drive) then put the trickle charger on it. I run a trickle charger on mine now aswell (don't drive it often enough and the battery goes flat) and when I first went to run it I had to jump start the car. Give it a go.
  8. Remember gearbox and diff ratios affect torque figures read on a dyno.
  9. I remember we were on the Autobahn doing low 200's (220-230) and we constantly had Porsche's, BMW's, Merc's coming up behind us flying passed or us moving out of the way for them. A lot of Australian's cant comprehend this since we are so used to 100-110 being the max speeds and these Autobahn speeds sound ludacris to us. To Europeans 200+ is nothing and quite normal on roads designed for it. Also to people that think it is dangerous and suicidal, there are less deaths on the Autobarn every year than there are on any other European highway. Also to compare to Australian road deaths, Australia has nearly 4 times more road deaths than Autobahns do (Total of German, Austrian and Switzerland). Also the OP said he was in a Porsche 911, not a bloody Toyota Camry. Cars like that can quite easily handle high speeds and it really comes down to the driver being in a good state of mind and control.
  10. Yep check the VIN number first. The only thing that is strange is the fact it has one airbag....
  11. Yeah im curious about specs of this turbo aswell, what makes it so special to spool up and be on boost that early and that hard, yet still make allright top end?
  12. Hahaha yeah, yeah I actually sent them an email for pricing for the clutch lines so will hopefully get back to every one soon regarding that. As a quick rough price so people know what to expect it should be under $50 delivered Australia wide, but will give an exact price once I receive pricing. I also need to find out from them whether their clutch lines replace everything from factory (around 70cm) or just replaces the small factory rubber line (around 10cm). Hopefully their kits replace everything, but once again I will give people updates on all of that at a later date. Lets finish this one off first Will do mate
  13. Yes I will be able to get them for a WRX, however you will have to wait for the next group buy if you don't mind waiting. As soon as this group buy is over (within the next week or so) I will open up the next group buy.
  14. Agreed. I doubt you could tell the difference between the Aus and Jap spec.
  15. Just to add to the ADR/DOT approval discussion. The guys told me that they included some paperwork for the kits which is certification to prove they are legal just to make 100% sure we don't have any dramas
  16. Not sure if you guys are reffering to me, but if so the name is Phil, not Paul lol. But yeah at the price you paid for them than bargain. Hopefully your ignition system will handle the 1.1 gap on the boost that you are running. In theory you want to run the biggest gap that your ignition system can handle. The 5000km change over of copper plugs isn't so much the fact that copper plugs don't last long, its because most of our cars are modified and usually run rich, this in turn makes the spark plugs foul up, regardless what they are made from.
  17. Well considering the three most common choices of cams in a RB25 heads are: 1. Stock cams 2. Poncams 3. HKS cams Then you should be able to tell (or post up some detailed pictures and I can tell you since I have had them all) which one of those three they are or if they look like something different.
  18. Take a cam cover off and check to see what cams are inside if you think they are not stock.
  19. What is the rest of your setup?
  20. Shit, sorry to keep you waiting man. I will write out all the Express post satchels early next week, that way the day they get here I will start sending them out so they get to every one ASAP.
  21. No one is whinging so get over yourself. You sign up onto this site, try and sell your car for a price that is unrealistic with unrealistic km's and people here are trying to help you with letting you know what it is worth and all you can do is act tuff with some swear words because you can't take advice. You aint impressing no one. If you are going to act like an uneducated child than perhaps you should kindly f**k off and try to sell your car on boostcruising.
