  1. Try the WTB section?
  2. From memory, others have tested lower than this. (from what i've seen on SAU) 140 seems to be the average though. Someone will be able to tell you definately what it should be though.
  3. Well... when you run long RCA's, and they get cut on the car body... they can short each other... so you get 2volts or more going back into your negative RCA... This can kill a head unit or amp pretty fast! I think that is why they're earthed. =-]
  4. Zorst for R33 GTST 2-dr? What is the minimum? Thanks!
  5. How does the electronic boost guage hook up? Pics? Cheers!
  6. Is that some kind of... surfboard?
  7. Definately wreckers... there'd be tons of front cuts with the stereo bracket still in there. Call JustJap and ask them really nicely, and they'd surely find one for squat-all money. The pocket can be bought from them too (aftermarket), but it's a little bit crappy. Call Nissan and get one from a Nissan Pulsar.
  8. cooks44: My series 2 has a button for "fully up" or "half up" when the radio is on. Fantastic for me.. my commodore had up/down buttons that let me put it any height I wanted, but it's much simpler to leave it on "half up" and never have to touch it again. =-] Dunno about the wiring dude... Usually variants of one model car will have harnesses... My Berlina had harnesses and plugs for Calais foglights. Cheaper to have one harness for all variants. As for series 1 and 2 (in the commodore world, it'd be VN/VP or VR/VS). If series 1's never had that button, you wouldn't have the wiring and plug sitting behind the dash panel.
  9. blackgtst: Aww.. nah. I mean... wear it in as you should for the first 500k's, but if it's a dud, it will bog out on you very quickly no matter what you do. grazza: Well... that kit seemed alright for a month... And considering my mechanic is a total perfectionist and never wrong, i'm happy to throw mine out when the box comes off next week. Mate of mine just received his clutch back from Jim Berry, and he reckens it's the sh*t. Cost him almost a grand though.
  10. Sticky tyres = burnouts. If they're hot or sticky, they get sus. Fair enough too... if you're not being a d1ck, they won't give you grief. (from my experience)
  11. Definately not direct powered, as you said... it'll eat your battery. The remote wire off your headunit should only ever be for remotely triggering something (amps usually). It does feed out power, but i'm not sure if it feeds 12v, and whether it feeds it all the time while the head unit is on. I know it can trigger an amp, but I don't think it would have to be very high-powered to do that. Other option is to use the remote wire to trigger a relay which is wired directly to the battery. This would turn the signal booster on when the HU is on, and use its own power rather than pulling off the accessories. That said, it would only work if the remote wire puts out a constant voltage I think... and I doubt the booster needs much power at all. You did check the antenna plug is well inside the HU? Some resist a lot, and then suddenly click in further if you give it a good ol' push.
  12. A/C fan or engine fan? 91 degrees celcius? That's radiator temperatures! If you're talking about A/C condenser fans, i'm still quite sure they'd be on almost instantly. It was the case in my Commodore, come to think of it. A/C on, fan on. Even if the engine was just warming up.
  13. Spray paint rubber? That doesn't sounds like a great idea... no offence. =-] Black Stuff sounds like a good option though!
  14. What about one of those power inverters that give you 240v out of a 12v source? Rig that up to parts of the car that are metal but not grounded... Might be better suited for electifying your wipers. No more parking tickets! ;o) (jk people... don't do this)
  15. Pulling a fuse is probably easier than disconnecting the AFM... and pulling the ignition or starter would give the same result as an immobiliser... so I figure most theives would assume that there is an immobiliser and just go to town ripping anything out of the car that they can. Might want to wire up a flashing LED or something in the meanwhile. I feel much more comfortable knowing that my alarm has a flashing LED. Kinda deters theives from even bothering in the first place I guess.
  16. I got that same kit from JustJap... there's something wrong with my box though, cause it started slipping a month after me and a mate put it in. My mechanic rubbished the RPM organic kit, saying that RPM just (poorly) remanufacture dead pressure plates and resurface friction plates. Boo! =-[ *cry*
  17. And for amps, bro... lots of amps with neons and sparkles. =-p =-]
  18. I think it's Karma coming to bite you on the butt! =-p Not sure, but it might be worth checking for leaks in all your vacuum pipes if it sounds like air. Could be one of many things really.
  19. I use Kitten interior protectant. Wipe it on with a piece of kitchen paper. Lasts a month or so if you don't handle it or get it super-wet. I think anything like that (even armorall) will soak into the rubber for a band-aid fix.
  20. Don't think I can search by that number man. VIN should read something like: ECR33 114098 (mine)
  21. Pretty sure with most cars the AC condenser fan should come on straight away to try and get the gas in the system as cool as possible, as quick as possible. If I remember, i'll check tomorrow~!
  22. Yes, it should swap over to your main battery. You DO have a Prius, right?
  23. Dunno if it's just me, but i've noticed that series1 has that little coin-tray thing next to the mirror-fold buttons.... mine doesn't have that. Oh! And my dash surround is a rough horrible black/grey.... I hate it. I can't clean it with anything without it shredding whatever i'm cleaning it with.
  24. Yerp... I use rags or kitchen paper, with degreaser or Kitten interior cleaner, and it works a treat. I might use the sponge and leftover carwash in the bucket to do the tops of the headlights, radiator support, radiator and cam-cover, but keep water away from your injectors, coil packs and fusebox. If you can remove it to clean it, do it! I remove the air filter housing, top of the fuse-box, and the coil pack cover if I could be assed removing the intake pipe etc.
