  1. I know I know... but I want it all Anyways I don't see myself attempting 100kmh+ drifts with my car. Maybe 30-40km on skidpan first then 60-80km on track where if you get into trouble you lose the front bar not half your suspension. I dono maybe you're right maybe I am dreaming!!!
  2. Sounds like the setup I'm talking about. Did you notice any sound degredation without using the dock? Depending on the rest of your stereo I believe if it was really good you would hear the difference but I"ve never heard it so I'm only assuming. In my not that good setup I can hear the difference when I burn audio cds from 128kbit and 192kbit. *shrug*
  3. Whats flatchanging? I probably change properly but buggered what you call the different way you change.
  4. Would you mind taking a few photos as you do it cefiro-rb20 ? That'd be great cos I think alot of people are interested in r32 dash in ceffies. Also when you mean you have to cut it off you mean the part that sits next to the windscreen/firewall is too long and has to be cut down to make it fit flush at the front? ta!
  5. I like the grill look like the GTR. As on the meggala's rb25 ceffy and the ceffy posted above. Ceffo - the one you posted would look good without the chrome bit i think, just the stealth black grill thats sunken in a bit i think that'd look nice too.
  6. Don't get me wrong, once it's setup its easy. I mean the last stereo I setup it has 3 RCA inputs that can be "high jacked" without taking anything out. This allows for easier plugging stuff up. It's the same sorta thing, when you install youir HU you just use the CD-in converter thing (I know it works with Pioneer type cd-in thingies but I don't know about other brands). And once you mount your dock somewhere you can slot in your ipod (without it falling out when you brake or go round a corner and hitting you in the head) its all done. From there you just run into your car and put the dock in, press CD/input on your headunit and thats it. Shrug just remember (i just thought of this now) the ipod would be a fairly nasty missile so where you mount it should be safe and secure. GoodLuck!
  7. Iwells - Sorry I thought I answered that already. Nah they didn't take the gauges, they did rip out the turbo timer however. If I had a choice of what should be stolen it would be TT not gauges (especially good gauges).
  8. Sound deadening = get it I'm doing just two doors properly - this will help my speakers greatly.
  9. Unless your worried about adding a few kilos to your car I would take the opportunity to sound deaden it as well.
  10. Oh, and I should probably say.. overall if I wanted to play mp3s in my car, Id use my car mp3 player. It's easier and less fidgety. Ipod in car (in my mind) is for show/novelty factor. Either way its still pretty cool
  11. I've seen two ways of doing this. Both ways involve a decent head unit, and personally if I was going to the effort I would not bother doing it any other way than properly. The first is using the dock that you can buy for normal use. ie. the dock is designed to a. plug your firewire in for recharging and b. plug in RCA outputs to plug into your stereo (or in this case your HU). You just use this, obviously you can't plug in firewire to power your ipod (if you find out the proper voltage which I can't remember off the top of my head I think you easily could however), but more importantly you use the RCAs and plug them into the extra port of your HU. In my case, this is done through buying a converter that converts RCA plugs into the special cd stacker input at the back. I think this converter is like $30 or $50 max from the US (worst case scenario). I'd be going down the above path.. the cost is basically RCA cable, ipod docker and RCA>CD-in converter. And if you want your car to charge your ipod you'll have to figure that one out yourself but basically it just needs to get the dc power of whatever voltage it is and then you would hook that up to your firewire out on your dock.. It's been done before too (google). The second is the alpine method, I assume its the same sorta thing but I haven't messed with it, nor do I really know how it works. http://www.alpine-usa.com/products/leading...ch_kca-420i.htm Good luck. If you need any help with the method I've described lemme know.
  12. lol nark. OK - when you get em hooked up, whichever option, please let us know ta!
  13. I like the r32 dash. I'd like to see one in a ceffy, I wonder if the level of the dash in relation to the floorpan/window would sit ok?
  14. I don't want a shitbox - if you want a "driftpig" why not get a $200 bluebird and drop an engine into it? That would cost less than a ceffy. ITS COS THEY LOOK GOOD! And i'll always try to get the most for my money. I've decided not to take that car because I can't afford the paintjob - if you guys want it let Meggala know. If I had the cash I'd take it but yea ... can't afford to paint it and as I said I need nice paint for the chicks. Otherwise I'm the type of guy to get a car to how I wanna look it, then do what I want to do with it. If that means painting it then taking it on a track and crashing it so be it. Maybe not the smartest idea but if you never look after your car because you think inevitably it will be crashed why bother doing anything? BLING bling!
  15. I'm all up for Sydney ceffy cruise.. just need to find me a ceffy
  16. "I owe you a 10 second car" ****ing fast and furious. nice times ceffo! and yeah practice practice practice will pull yourtime down im sure.
  17. Yea it is all ceffo's fault. I'm comparing all paint jobs to his car now. Problem is guys for the same amount of money I'm looking at straight show-looking cars with custom everything - that's the problem.. especially since they both driftable. I just like the ceffies... but it's annoying that with a respray which would be a must for me with this car, means I can't get intercooler/computer. So my dream of turning it into a fast car goes down a little bit Not that a stockish rb25 aint fast nuff.. but still.
  18. LOL scrape it green. Like I said. If you were as ugly as I was you'd need a good paint job to attract the CHICKS BRO. Uhm.. cough.. Yeah I'm torn so I'm going to have a think about it - and I can't thank Steve enough he's been a champ - especially that he knows I'm the type of guy who would spray the car. Scratch it drifting, then pay to have the scratch fixed. If I destroyed the front bumper, I would get another one put on with the same paint at cost... why? ... FOR THE CHICKS BRO!@ ... cough.. anyway... Watch this space - damnit ceffies are the shizo!
  19. Thanks guys that makes me feel better. There are actually a couple of places the green shows through however, it's only a little bit but yeah enough for me to want a respray. I guess I'm fussy like that. And I would *IMAGINE* (I'm only guessing) the car was the stock colour, then lime green, then they sprayed it white. I would have preferred they left it green hehe. [edit: Iwells - the side skirts and near the door seals etc have some white flaking off the same green is underneath, not much but enough to tell the whole car was green before the white] Anyways in my mind the little places that it comes through annoy me enough to get it sprayed which means I can't get the rims I wanted. So I'm still thinking about it.. As for the front bar if I decide to go ahead with the buy munkey is welcome to have the bar to make copies from it, or if he wants to repair the small cracks in it he is welcome to have it for a case of beer or something. Otherwise if I don't go ahead with the buy - he can barter with Steve. (I was going to buy a front bar from him to replace this one for the respray). Cheers guys... but yea I'm still bummed .. I have less than 24hrs to decide to get it or no as I don't want to mess Steve around as I'm sure it's a great car and many a more less-aesthetically fussy people will be able to snap up what is otherwise a great car. Unfortunately I'm too ugly not to have a perfect (or near perfect) paint job.... TO GET THE CHICKS BRO! O_o (such a nice ass on the car tho)
  20. Nah this breaks my spirits. I'm kinda 50/50 on the whole thing and god its a damn good lookin car but yea I don't know if my budget allows for a re-spray and I'm thinkin I can get a car that don't need a respray for the same money... but it just won't be a ceffy.. and if it is won't be rb25. Shieeeeeet! Some pics (want more ask steve)-
  21. Well it would seem this car was once green. Do'h - was hoping I wouldn't have to spring for a spray job. Otherwise it looks all good!
  22. im laughing.. but ... im also quite very scared. ceffo.. hold me.
