  1. didnt get a chance to say thanks, as i went caming just after work on friday, but yes thanks, i had an awesome time, struggled to keep up a few times but i got there, MJ dont complain u got snail power. cheers John
  2. the injectors can handle more then enough flow for ne possible mods u can do keeping the engine NA, an SAFC will help richen it up if thats what u want but keep in mind rich generally ='s less power. Cheers John
  3. learn, try different RPM's to launch at to get the best between bogging down and excessive wheel spin, really quick gearshifts and lots of practice.
  4. Gearbox is the only thing im unsure about ill just see how it goes, seems to be holding up with the nos alright. Clutch is fine cause its a really tuff item i got put in a while ago. im hopefully getting an rb30 for free, ill have to pay for the rods to be shotpeened, crank balanced, new bearings and new rings and some extractors, all up like 600 dollars as i will do all the change over including porting and polishing my head myself with some help from my boss.
  5. cheers mate
  6. nah mate, only the amp for the subs is left in, i have to rebuild the whole boot to accomidate for the extra go fast addition but im hoping i can do an as nice or possibly better install, ill do it when i get some time, probably start it next week or something.
  7. yeah i went tonight, im quite impressed myself without being big headed, i never imagined these times with an NA. I got a 14.08 with a shitty start and shitty 60ft, looking at my other time slips from last sat if i can get everything perfect i think i can maybe get a 13.9something hopefully, just see how it goes. I wanna 13 before i throw the new engine in.
  8. neone on here at the test n tune tonight?? saw red 33 with silver bonnet, white 33 with purple pearl and GTR badges... a white 32, and silver 34 GTR???
  9. no 100hp definately no safe on a NA, 75 is probably pushing it but i got 14.08 at the test n tune tonight with a shit start and shit 60ft so im thinking i can break into 13's just if i get everything perfect.
  10. im up for something too, can i have a pm....??
  11. I used my time slips and an online calculator (http://www.tweak3d.net/videos/calcs/sixty.shtml) and got 5.4 secs for 0 - 100kph time, wow didnt think it was that quick.
  12. definately not as fun with out the gas in the car cause the timing is retarded, although my timing is at stock rather then retarded cause i normally run it at 19 degreese where as stock is 15 and u notice the difference in power, though if ur car doesnt have the timing advanced it wont make ne difference. If thats what u were asking. Other option is rb 30 with ur head, im putting my 25de head on a rb30 very soon, before i start ill strip back the rb30 replace bearings balance the crank and shot peen the rods and wack some new rings in. then ill hopefully be in the 14's without gas and definately below with gas so like mid to high 13's very soon.
  13. mine's not slow at all, quicker then turbo's infact, get some GAS!!
  14. NOS in its own state is not flamable, hold a flame to it and nothing happens, the reaction occurs when it enters the combustion chamber and breaks down at 400 and something degreese to become nitrogen and oxygen, the extra oxygen being created in the combustion chamber is what gives it the extra power, its like a turbo but the pressure comes from within. Ill get some pics asap but the jet is just tapped into the plastic intake pipe newhere between the AFM and the throttle body. It is ok to leave the bottle open but i personally wouldnt recomend it for extended periods of time. Go for a drive for a day sure open up the bottle and go for a cruise but when u get home that night id be turning it off. cheers John
  15. mate i havent actually bought parts for my car though i can comfirm that they share the same components except some NA's came with softer spring rates then the turbo ones did. cheers John
  16. ive never actually had my car on the dyno, its always been street tuned by myself, or a good friend of mine (one of the best mechanics i know) as im only an apprentice. The car is sposed to make around 140hp at the crank stock so im assuming with nos and my mods its well over 200. Cheers John
  17. i think he was comparing NA vs NA, either way i can chop NA supra's and im NA.
  18. knore: Im a mechanic at Gilmour Developments, the workshop specialises in building race cars and very tuff street cars with very little car audio on the side and will also do alarms etc. cheers John
  19. mate theres plenty more to come, im so stoked about everything, im getting an rb30 block hopefully in the next week or so, my boss is gonna show me how to port and polish my head and were gonna wack that on hopefulyl within a month, so 3 ltr twin cam skyline very soon, then next on the list will be forgies and 200hp nos jets. I forgot to mention that before the rb30 block goes in ill have the crank balanced and the rods shot peened and replace the rings and bearings. After forgies will be microtech engine management and cams and then a long wait while i save to upgrade the brakes to 5 stud GTR brembo's and new mags. Then in a few years big custom plenum and some **** off big turbo when my insurance premiums come down some more but for the next year or so i think im gonna stick with a really tuff NA line. Seeing the look on peoples faces when i tell them there is no turbo is priceless and beating vl turbo's with my NA line makes me feel even better (yes i did do it on sat at willowbank it was great, and this thing had like the biggest intercooler id ever seen and guages and all the knobo stuff). Cheers John
  20. mate im about to send u a pm, but there's no section for NA 33's and i got a quicker time then some of the turbo's....
  21. Oh i am absolutely stoked with the results. I had a chat with another skyline owner there i think he may be on here and said he has trouble cracking 14.4 in his turbo line. Sorry i havent had a chance to get the digital camera fixed yet but ill borrow a mates sometime during the week. Fuel pump is the stocko and it has absolutely no problems the car when nos is activated is very rich the A/F guage goes birzirk and the and everygreen bar lights up and nothing else so there is definately no prbs with the pump. My mechanic/boss told me they are VL pumps and are capable of devilering a fair amount of fuel though i cant remember exactly what hp he said there good for. Where are all the others that said they were getting it?? it took me an hour and a 1/2 to put my kit in and that included removing stereo from my boot and looking after customers and the rest. Cheers John
  22. right from the word go, finish the burnout and turn it on the stage, launch at 3200 rpm then flatten it so the nos activates and away i go.
  23. Willowbank Test n Tune results!! Holly shit ive never been happier here they are *shuffles through the 7 time slips* Reaction Time: 0.588 60ft: 2.107 MPH: 99.45 KPH: 160.05 ET: *14.151* !!!!!! Reaction Time: 0.829 (crap!) 60ft: 2.391 MPH: *100.33* !!!!!! KPH: 161.47 ET: 14.236 I am absolutely stoked with the results. i ran like a 14.6 on my first pass just to see how things went then got right into on the second pass and ran that 14.1 and consitantly ran 14.2's for the rest of the night. My best pass without gas last winter was like 15.7 at 18 degreese and it was 28 degreese on the 14.1 pass then it hovered around 25-24 for the rest of the day/night. NA skylines are slow aye....... Cheers John
