  2. PVA_GLUE: Sorry mate basically what i said in my previous post is all the info he could give me on the different diff's he doesnt know the part numbers. Its good to hear my new diff is tuff, so hopefully i wont be breaking it netime soon. The conversion all up is costing around 7g's drive in drive out, though im helping out with alot of labour and it includes a full twin exaust and microtech ltx-12 comp and tuning. im hopeing for around 300kws at the crank with minimal mods which my mechanic says is not unacheavable. My best friend is buying my old engine to put in his silvia with a 100hp shot of nos strapped to it, so dont race him.
  3. ill do my best for u, ill ask the mechanic tomorrow when ipick it up. My mechanic actually said there are four different types just for 33's. turbo 4stud, turbo 5 stud, non turbo 5 stud and non turbo 5 stud, and most of them have different brake combo's aswell, he said he couldnt beleave it and is just praying the one he got me is gonna fit apparently i may also need a different cradle?? for the turbo diff.

  5. Ill definately be at the next one though. i heard bout urs, my new one goes in tomorrow, s'all good, now i got something that will handle the power of my new engine, now my gearbox is the weekest link, wonder how long that will last.

Go with the turbo dude, insurance between turbo and NA is dick all as ur already paying shit loads as its a sports car and import, ive been quoted a pathetic 60 dollars extra a year from just cars if i was to convert my car to a turbo. EDIT: If ur nething like me, u will get very bored with an NA very quickly.
  7. this is all well and good that these cars can go fast in a straight line, but they dont really handle or stop. My mates dad had a BA fairmont ghia and the thing was toyworld quality inside, for a car that cost more than twice the price of mine and be almost 10 years newer it should come out with a slightly better build quality.

  10. yup ive seen the blue 34 gtr, NSW plates, its a genuin NUR spec, his gf, or maybe daughter looked to be in her early 20's he looked to be early 50's. Awesome car.
  11. Hi all, Well this morning for some strange reason i decided to do a u turn on boundery street in brisbane, if u know the area its fairly busy at about 8 am. So ive started, it was raining and i realised that i would have to make this a three point turn, theres now traffic coming from both directions and i panicked (spelling*) a bit dropped the clutch in reverse, and i got lots of axle tramp and then BANG, sounded like the back half of my car fell off or something. So by now i was pissed but had to go to school. So im on my way home this afternoon after a really ****ed up day and i rembered what had happened, so im cornering fairly hard to see if nething had broken, after feeling the car was not quite right i pulled out of a t intersection to turn right, clutch in, in 2nd, dialed up 6500rpm and let it go, and as i suspected i left ONE beatiful big black line, not 2 and didnt go sidewayz as the car normally would. Now very pissed off i began to look at the bright side. 550 bucks later my car is now getting a gtst diff in preparation for the VH45DE, which i have recently put a deposit on, engine should be in less then 6-7 weeks. so i guess its not all bad. Just thought id share it with you. Cheers John
  12. thats not bad at all, i dont really drive like a granny, but i generally get around 400k's to a tank, just about all peak our city driving.
  13. im paying 3300 a year full comp rating 5, goes down to 2700 next year and they want under 100 dollars extra if i turbo or put a V8 in my car. Go Figure
  14. thats so much money man, if u could do some ur self i would suggest it, i needed new mags, still do, but my total was still under 600 bucks, including a new side skirt. But i got my crash on video, drifting in the vecinity (spelling*) of gutters = BAD.
  15. agreed, definately not worth the gains unless ur going into more serious mods ei, cams, throttle body, port & polish but then the $$$ add up, the engine becomes unreliable and u may aswell buy a turbo.

Dude i dont know about the rear, but i did a very similar thing a few weaks ago, if u can get ur car on a hoist, do it urself, shouldnt cost more then 300 bucks for parts for the front end, and its not a very hard job. I fixed mine myself along with a mates car who did the same thing also a line. Takes a few hours but nothing really dificult.

  18. all u can do to reduce it is get a resonator, unfortunately it reduces the loudness factor in of ur exaust in general it does get rid of the aweful resonance, i have a resonator off a V8 commodore, it has 0 restriction and has almost totally eliminated the noise, it pretty much only does it when the car is cold now. On the plus side it gave the care really really deep note.

  20. I had a VL for the first month i was on my L's then i got my skyline. I also drove mums LS1 Caprice, Dads Ford Exploder and then his SS UTE when he got it, oh and an SR20DET Silvia, my first turbo experience and since then something has been missing.
  21. well on the newer safc's minus means telling the computer its getting less air and therefore gives the engine less fuel ie leaning it out, i imagine its the same new or old.

  23. it will definately have to be sold in the next to months, though if money comes through i may need to get rid of it very quickly.
