Hence why she is using a thicker head gasket to lower the compression. All u backyard mechanics tell me why my engine has lasted so long at almost 11:1 compression at 11pound of boost and the only time the car is driven it is cained... Now please... everybody take a step back if u dont have hard facts and havent done it yourself dont be so quick to critisise.

After some thought im gonna run blacky... It wont go fast enough but ive already entered so 3 qualifying runs = me having more time in the car getting comfortable with the new setup rather than trying to kill myself on the bike First time ever running the v8 down the strip at Jambo!! fark yeah!
-
bigger engine.. supercharger... buy another car.
-
im in toowoomba generally tuesday through thursday... but not in the skyline... big gold patrol with NIS 450 on the plates... and SS/AA 4669 on the front and back windows.
-
any turbo or manual diff... i gave my last one away, model number is an r200 same between 32's and 33's not sure about 34's i know the autos are geared taller so im guessing your chasing the 4.11 ratio manual version.
-
Blue generally designated an NA, turbo trim?? there is no difference other then a boost guage in the dash.
-
Hahaha, tis all good, ive had to straighten mine after a red light once
-
mine was still NA at this stage albite a V8, still looked the same with the 6 in it.

14 to 1 isnt quite optimal for methanol either. On an NA engine 16 to 1 would be better for running methanol and what SydneyKid said i would guess ~300
-
I thought a about the bottle... but how much fuel do i add for a methanol dedicated system... and although i have a kit i would only want to run 8 port direct injection to ensure every cylinder gets an equal dose... no money... had to borrow money off the rents to enter.. Why wont they let me race? f**ks me! I told them i would race for no points prizemoney or trophy's, its a true example of a japanese muscle car, it has been teched and races in the national series... i asked if i could even just do exhibition runs.. nothing, y? i have no clue.. i begged them every year to let it at least run down the track... Ill be racing my bike now... See jamboree was enver for bikes either originally, ray box and mark stanbury need there heads checked i think..
-
26/9/15 hoosier slicks... when i can afford it i want to get some passes down on radials as the car is technically still registered Ray and Mark will not let the car race at jambo... as there is a 9.99 cut off for sedans in the extreme... i've begged them every year for the last 3 years to let me race... just do some qualifying runs even... now they have a class for V8's and i still cant race....
-
hahaha, cheers guys.. felt absolutely unreal... abobroad minded personely over the moon!! Bring on the nationals this weekend!!
-
Not quite quick enough for the extreme class so looks like its the bike for me... should be interesting never run it down the strip..
-
 10.45 @ 131MPH straight out of the box backed up by a 10.47 @ 131MPH only got 2 runs in. still have a cooling system issue... and both runs werent wonderful, so there may still be a little more left in it with some fine tuning. Absolutely stoked!!! car performed like a dream. AzzuraA: No worries mate, pm any questions you have..
-
Cheers buddy, Yeah its a bit of everything really but ive done 127mph before with a bad launch, on 4 inch shit house front runners i dont want to be struggling to pull it up if it does something similar, its not only the extra power but the area under the power curve is heaps bigger with methanol.. just trying to consider all factors.. taking it to a t n t tomorrow though so it should be a good indication.,.
-
Hahaha, yeah... well diference between mechanical and EFI methanol is the injectors are not flowing continually, only opening and closing when required, therefor there is no excess build of methanol in the intake or heads and thus most of the cooling advantages are lost.... Basically we think either the water pump is cavitating or the thermostat is restrictrive or not opening fast enough. We think the water in the engine is boiling before it gets time to circulate. This was only evident on the dyno and our few burnout street tests did not show the same result... So for now were just going to pull the thermostat out and build a 4 or 5 litre overflow tonight to hopefully get it down the track. The nationals will be the first major sponsored outing, so weather its going to explode or not i have to make a showing for the sponsors... personally either way i dont mind as they have bought a box for it... wouldnt phase me if the car did explode on the line at the nats as i would just sit in the box and drink piss all weekend.... but to make a good impression it has to at least make it to the line.
-
Hahahaha, thanks guys. mmmm burnouts.... i think i almost enjoy that part more then racing itself.. but nah this saturday we will be keeping them short... have a bit of a cooling issue and i really want to get it down the track..

Some piccys of the new setup. -
Hey all, For those that have followed the progress of the car.. The methanol conversion is complete, we picked up 130hp, now making ~530RWHP, with a previous PB of 11.22... well the rest writes itself... So saturday is the day... if u see me come say hi, ill be in the loudest 33 there
-
Personally i think they add to the asthetics of the car... I was lucky to get NIS450 on my patrol when i got it... suits blacky very well... Its an individual thing.. each to there own... i personally think they look heaps better, make the car stand out and individualise it... But my car is kind of all about standing out... The only downside i see to them is that they are usually alot easier to remember and therefor if u do something wrong u may be more likely to suffer any kind of consequence someone may be willing to dish out.
-
Thanks guys, more concerned about attaching the main line to the car.. I may make a bar between the rear chassis rails... dont really want to pay 500 bucks for midori rear steer arms so i can make mounts on the cradle..

didnt realise it was only an intake manifold... yeah mate copper gasket go and wack that sucker back on... if u really want a gasket go buy yourself some gasket material and a ball peen hammer and make one yourself..
