  2. I dont think they are actually 5 spds, they lock the convertor up as an overdrive providing 1 to 1 drive its not actually another gear. On most occasions you loose this when u start modding the box.
  3. mine will never be finished but check the link in my sig its a complete build diary on it. Supercharged V8 R33
  4. Thanks mate. good luck with the conversion. there an absolutely unreal engine, and super tough in stock form. UPDATE: 11.56 @ 118mph temp was 27 and relative alttitude only a little under 2000 so there is still more left in it. Did the photoshoot for zoom this week as well so look out for it in the next couple of issues, not sure what month yet. The decision has been regrettably made to de-register the car and build a full tube frame front end with walk off fiberglass nose, 4 link rear end and tubbed. Will still keep build progress though. This will all be started after winternats ready for the next season. For the immediate future we are investigating a bigger stall convertor to get it off the line harder and switching to methanol.
  5. hey, im now living in toowoomba during the week and head back to brissy for the weekends, for the most part ill be in a black 32, wont be taking blacky up there.
  6. Ill vouch for this car, it is abobroad minded personely mint, quite a show stopper in the flesh.

    Black Update

Thanks guys, im stoked with it, awesome to be driving it on the street again... Few little things to do, but there always will be... Zoom Magazine feature on the way keep an eye out. James ahh yes i remember that night fondly, man that was ages ago, with steves almost off road drifting antics... haha what an awesome night.. the good ol' days.
  8. from the two short drives from home to the work shop i had it was pretty silly, mind u it still had the race pipe on it so id say u would have been able to hear the thing from a 5k radius of it.

    Black Update

Hey all, just thought some of u might be interested, after quite a few years in the works Blacky is finally finished, thats not to say further developements are not in the works, but astheticaly and functionally shes done. She will be on display at Mini Jam as the sport compact class fears the extra few cylinders and therefor cannot race, but she and i have found our home in the super street class of racing, we have been fairly competetive and will be back again at the tin tops to have another go.. For those that dont know the thread in the NA section its the complete build diary of the car from when i first decided to give her a Nissan V8 heart. The link is to the last page with some completed interior piccies, with the rolld cage, custom cluster and harness'. For the street she will be identical but have two GTS-T seats and normal seat belts due to my engineer not liking harness's or fixed back seats. Either way have a look and feel free to leave ne positive or negative comments. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...ic=35764&st=260 Cheers John
  10. cheers mate will certainly do some more research into that. and try some different things on the dyno. Had a busy weekend finishing off the interior and dash, heres some pics, for the street ill be running standard seat belts and hopefully a pair of GTR seats for street use, for praticality and less of the wrong kind of attention (if thats possible).
  11. cheers guys, sorry no extra pics, ive recently started going to uni up in toowoomba and the car is living in brissy still which is limiting my spare time. Will be completely finished and on display at mini jam in 2 weeks time will take a heap of photos then. Sorry no videos of it, dont know how to put them on the computer without a digital camera.
  12. mate ill probably take it off your hands, got a mobile number i can contact u on, would like to come hyave a look at it today. has neone got this guys no. ? much appreciated cheers.
  13. hahaha gotta have tunes, biggest thing i use it for though is racing, after i cross the line and i can actually aort of hear it i like to know wether i won or not and by how much. Found someone to make me a new alloy gilmor drive and adapter all as one piece, when thats done... MORE BOOST!! haha the simple answer.. ZOOM called me the other day and said they are going to do a feature on it in the next few months aswell so pretty stoked about that. Work will slow down on it now though as im going back to uni full time, ive played around enough and need to get my degree out of the way so i can get some good dollars and build it bigger and better then ever. Next big thing, im looking at trying to source the newer larger nissan VK56DE from the states or nissan japan..... straight bolt into my car atm.... mmmmm more cubes..... lots more power!
  14. my rb25 used to make around the 150rwkw mark with a 75hp shot of nitrous and run 14.0's consistantly... was good fun!!
  15. it wasnt off topic, and yes im sorry it was a rant cause im over hearing that certain things are percieved to be "too hard" from what people have "heard" and not actual facts. I was simply offering advice on what i would have done, rather than pouring bucketloads of money into the NA to make it quick, if i could go back and do it again.. Remember im only offering my opinion on past experience not what i have "heard" and thats what a forum is.
  16. ill stand by my comment im sorry you guys dont believe me but there is no reason y i would lie or post up bs information. They are in the final stages and all they basically have left to do is decide on a tender to run the track. I have my sources take what u like from that.
  17. y not swap engines it takes about a day too do and is way easier then f**king around adding turbos, and bits and pieces, its cheaper and its right. Why is there this big stigma that changing an engine over is so hard, or takes to long or what? i dont know? u can get ur engine out in an 1 1/2 to 2 hours, and it shouldnt take any longer then 2 1/2 to 3 hours to put the new turbo donk in..... the internals of an NA engine still arent as strong and will never be.. listen to the people thazt have been there before, its cheaper and easier to buy another engine or sell the car an buy a standard turbo one. Or put up with it until you can take one of those to options or you will regret it down the track. No matter how hard u try you CANNOT get more GO for less work and or dollars fact of life.. EDIT: this is not a direct attack at neone simply my opinion, no offence intented we all friends here shairing the same passion.
  18. may be bring the black beast out for a run if the new balancer is back.
  19. no need to sign it nemore guys, it has been confirmed lakeside is beeing re-opened as a historic and club racing circuit....
  20. i wanna be your mechanic, thats some expensive shit, i could have the week off after u came in dude.
  21. ive only ever had a quick glance at the cams rules for cages but from what ive been told is the if its andra approved it will pretty much be cams spec aswell
  22. guys pm me, myself and my housemate build them mine is andra approved and street legal, as previously mentioned, you can either bolt in and weld, also some andra tech guys go a little easier on street registered cars depends who u get and how they are feeling.
  23. dont have ne but ill get the Digi vidio camera off the parents next time its out. Photos are pretty bad, but the only interior left is the dash and door panels other then that there is nothing, full roll cage, body deadener removed back to bare metal and then a full gloss black coat of paint for all the metal bits inside, 5 point harness's (only using them as 4's ATM) Top of the line autometer tach that comes with PC software and records driveshaft RPM with burn shift light plus a shift light for each gear, autometer, boost, water temp, oil pressure, tranny temp and AF guages for each bank and my autometer speedo and fuel level should be hear next week. Its my big tin can and i love it. Eug i reckon it sounds closer to a V8 supercar with the race pipe, either way its defening with no helmet on. Should be back terrorising the streets in a few weeks. New Hoosier slicks arrived today so that should hopefully bring the times down a bit aswell.
  24. mines making around 300rwkw's and its not enough but im making 1500+ NM's oif tractive effort on the dyno wheel spinning.... needless to say its pretty silly on the street but more is never enough... Needless to say its back into RD and were doing some more things too hopefully push up and over the 400kw mark and thats where i shall sit for a while. Next will be a tube frame car, fiber glass body to exactly replicate the current car, same engine but with a PSI blower hanging out the bonnet. Will more then likely commence mid-end of next year.
  25. hahaha, yeah, nah thats only cause i ran out of money, actually ordered a speedo and fuel guage from the states earlier in the week, when they arrive ill throw up a quick alloy panel with some indicator lights, hand brake warning and some other crap and it will simply be boilt the passenger seat in and throw the other harness in and get it engineered.
