I mean, I do drive a manual, but I can't think of why the auto would make excessive noise like what you've describe.. Best wait for some other opinions first...

Well I'm getting about 400km per tank... I'm guessing an R34 GTT's fuel tank is 60ltrs?? I should check in teh manual..

I've got one, thanks to the boys at Autoworx in Perth. R34 GTT manual sedan... Happy as a pig in sh*t myself.. They are awesome, as macsta said, they are a great alternative to an SV6 or an XR6 (T/nonT) and as we know, teh NISSAN is much HOTTER! Mine is a conversion and as has been said, if done properly, it isn't a problem at all, fun to drive, nippy and just a real pleasure to be in really... However, I'm getting about 400km/tank to about 440km/tank, the fuel efficiency isn't as good as the Aussie cars, but a few mods (chip/ecu, 3"exhaust, AFM, 02 sensor, intercooler, EBC and a decent tune) will find you clock some decent miles per tank even whilst having plenty of fun under the bonnet.

Stock? Not much at all...

A few factors to recognise with the R34 GT- 4. * These, compared to GT turbos, have 4 stud wheels, requiring conversion in most cases. * Different engine mounts, ok if you want to keep the RB25 I guess, but thinking of going to an RB25DETT or RB26... Big job. * Stock, without any performance upgrades, engine swaps and the likes, these things are apparently (not that I know first hand) uninspiring. I'm having fun with my 4 door R34 GTT at the moment, but one day I aspire to build a 4-door GTR... I'm sure many people here do! If you can, get the manual strait out, my GTT sedan was a manual conversion, but best to get it that way, manual conversions as a rule are a pain in the arse.

A six speed box might help... I got a huge shock (ok, I drive a GTT, but that isn't the point). Driving from my farm (400km trip) to Perth, I found I was doing 3,000 rpm in 5th at 120kph, considering I drove my mate's ED Falcoon the trip before at was doing a cosy 1,700rpm at the same speed.... So there I think may lie an important factor for an inherent lack of fuel economy, because of the high 'cruise' revs. These things desperately need a sixth cog...

I just loved the fact that the #3 'could of' been retired for the 'best player in the AFL' when he chose to hang up his boots, but insted, he jumps ship, and Mainy gets the #3 retired in his honour. Ultimate middle finger salute to Juddy... But yeah, RIP Mainy, your were, and still are a bloody legend, a champion of WA footy, a hero of the WCE.

Same, I bought my R34 just before Paul sold up, I was very happy with the service then, and Alistair has succeeded in filling a big pair of shoes! He is uberfriendly and is very helpful... I'd go back again. (EDIT) - Don't post when on the border between still drunk and getting hung-over

At least AFL still uses the 'foot'component a fair bit, unlike our rugby and umerikan cousins...
