Yeah I've known about this for a while, but it has been mostly speculation, just asking about opinions and if anyone has come across any fresh developments on the proposal... Still, they wouldn't turbo the 4.5 Ltr V8, they'd turbo a GTR anyday, otherwise it just wouldn't be a Skyline now would it.... I'm a bit sad they aren't considering a new inline six motor though.... RB32 anyone???

I heard about this plan by Nissan to shoe-horn an Infiniti 4.5 Ltr V8 into the current 350Z shell, along with AWD and the fabled clase ratio six-speed box..... I haven't heard much in recent months??? Have Nissan still got this on the drawing board?? Willl it happen? It is all talk??? What do you guys think of a 420BHP AWD Z???? Any takers??? All I know it, it will kick Ford and Holen right where it hurts!

So if I'm keeping the factory turbo, do I: a) Stay with the stock SMIC, or go with FMIC, I've been recommended the FMIC by a large number of people... b) Go with a full exhaust that includes front & dump pipes?

Sweet, so I've picked a good exhaust (however, I'm still going to speak to some bloke based in WA who is on the forums)... Bugger the BOV... Now I need to ask this... Apexi PFC.... Is it worth getting for the R34, I've been advised that the GReddy piggyback E-Manage Ultimate is just as good as a stand alone ECU replacement as it allows almost any parameters for tuning, timing and whatnot, and it is a much newer design... Is this true, does this guy's opinion hold water? I'm not chasing 600BHP at the rear wheels... As I said, FMIC, zorst, and MAYBE chip/ECU will come first, later down the track, will come suspension, mild bodykit and maybe a bigger turbo... SO yeah, is a full blown ECU replacement necessary? I'm trying to upgrade smart! If I'm getting an exhaust system, I might as well get the full dump/front pipe as well?

What about other small mods like AFM's, or the SAFCII's??? I don't know much about them, can someone please shed some light on them, and people with experience, do they, in conjunction with other mods, help HP? and/or economy/response??? Cheers.

I'm definitely looking for something with both a muffler and resonator... Much like the 'Greddy Power Extreme II Exhaust System'... I agree that noise = attention, and that isn't always a good thing (in fact, in most cases, it isn't)... However, nice note would be cool, and a few kw more grunt will NEVER go astray!

Cheers! Yeah, I've been told that with Front/Dump pipe, 3" exhaust and a hi-flow cat, plus an FMIC, stock boost will rise from 7psi to about 9psi... On that note, what is a good cat to get? Catco? Metalcat? Magic cat? Magic cat seem to make some steep claims but it appears that other makes tend to bag magic cat... Anyone had any experience with these???

Two questions... One, I would like to get an exhaust with the upcoming FMIC that I am planning to install... Now, I'd like an exhaust that increases performance, one that will provide benefit across the entire rev range (or at least good average power throughout most of the rev range), and yes, I'd like some note, some growl.... However, can this be accomplished without two things? One, without being sooo bloody loud that cops a mile away can hear you change at 4k rpm, perfornace without the "OMFG I'm a hoon lol!" thing... Secondly, I'm not a fan of milo-tins... Never have been, I'm aware MOST aftermarket exhausts are of a larger diameter than stock... Basically, can I aquire this performance without a gaping 10" hanging out of the back of my car, looking like it needs it own set of wheels to keep it of the ground, with a horrid drone to match.... I don't mind the look of the " Greddy Power Extreme II Exhaust System", but I wouldn't want any bigger... How are these things for performance/loudness/note??? What are the INJEN/HKS/APEXI and other equivilents like?? Blow-Off valve... Similar thing, performance increase? Is it possible without the "HEY PULL ME OVER OFFICER!" volume.... A little "piiissshhhh" is ok, as it is nessicary, but I've heard some in my day, and crickey some can be loud.... What is the HKS SSQV blow-off valve like? Are there others that perform better, or are quieter??? SSQV is plumb-back correct? Cheers in advance... Also, I drive an R34 GT-T...

That is exactly right! I believe the same thing! I got pulled over on Berregan st/rd for doing a U-Turn at a set of traffic lights... Well she pulled me over and I was thinking "oh shit, I've lost my license", which is unfortunately, my natural reaction to the red & blue now... Anyway, she asked for my license and said to me "Why were you doing a U-Turn at a 'round about", I said I'd not been driving for six months, and that I'd just come back into the city from the bush, and that I saw no 'no U-Turn' signage... Anyway, after that she stated "Your very nervous considering this is a routine traffic stop", I admitted I had a previous record of dangerous driving and that I was just trying to drive carefully (ie: NOT fanging my Skyline) and just trying to do the right thing without being a dickhead. So she asked me under what circumstances I was charged, I replied that in that situation, I was being young, stupid, naive and irresponsible and if I could, I'd like to leave it there because it is something I'm not particularly proud of.. Anyway she made me blow into the bag and I blew 00.00, considering I don't drink and drive full stop, that was good. However, she followed by saying "see, it's ok, you blew zero zero, your doing the right thing and you've learned your lesson, just be careful with those little things". "Remember, the roadies (Highway Patrol I'm guessing), would've fined you on the spot, it is $150 and 3 demerits... Still, you were up front and honest, you DID do it on a green arrow, which was a bit better, but I've seen accidents here boy, just go up a few hundred meters next time and do a yooie in a safer spot.... Drive Safe!".... Still, I got a caution though... I was genuine though, I just need to Not make such thoughtless mistakes... On that note, green arrow... Plus No "no U-turn sign", it is still illegal? I must say, I'm not so much relieved I got off the fine... I'm more pleased that now, I don't think of cops being totally untrusted and emotionally detached knuckle draggers.... I'm very surprised....
