  1. "Now I overtake on corner 1!!! need massive concentration...." "Now I come to turn 3, loose concentration"... "Now Taku... Spin out and make it look like an accident"... poor Taku... Got a little wide heading into four....
  2. Can Takuma Sato please star in the next fast & the furious movie????
  3. Even though these two words are similar, I consider them subtly different. Skill and ability... To hit 'nearly' every apex with perfection, near perfect brake and throttle application, his feather touch and the pedals and steering wheel.. That takes skill, it take tenacity, that is Schumacher... "When reach this limit, when you touch this limit, you find... You can go a little faster, a little higher, and with the experience as well, you can fly very high"... That is raw talent, THAT is ability, as well, pure passion.... Senna... If I had to pick two guys to race my two cars... Schumacher/Senna any day....
  4. OMFG those wheels are soooooo hot!!!
  5. Damn damn damn!!!! l0l, is it that time of the month for our moody Fernando is it?
  6. Still, if I was Eddie Jordan, I would've held on to Alesi for another year, those last couple of races Jean drove in the Jordan in 02 were some of the best he did in YEARS! It was as if he had a new lease on F1.... I still remember him holding behind him, to uber powerful BMW Williams cars at Spa Francorchamps, and he wasn't far from the podium iirc... Looks like we know where Sato got his ballsey inspirtation from!!! Gotta love passing around the outside!!
  7. Sweet... That is really good when you can get the next day off school... Your brain is shagged from the lack of sleep, and you learn bugger all that way anyway... Yes, lets hope Webber gets some points!!
  8. That is like saying Chris Amon was the greatest winner ever, but never quite managed to win a Grand Prix... Speaking of 'rainmeisters' have a few people forgotten Jackie Ickx (or however you spell it! l0l!), my dad always ravs on about Ickx... Look at day and age tho, ok, Jimmy Clark may not have had a few hundred engineers to get his car perfect, nor did he have car-pit, pit-car telementary... But then Jimmy Clark's car didn't have 10,000 sensors on his car, his DFV Cosworth didn't rev to some 16k RPM... He didn't use slick and his car didn't create 90 tonnes of downforce... Schumacher was also dedicated countless hours to the test track, not satisfied with leaving it all to Irvine, Barrichello, Badoer, Gene and Massa like others could of/would of done... Michael wanted first hand feed back and he wanted to be able to converse with his engineers on getting the car developed and setup correctly... He was not only naturally fast, he put in the hours and the effort to extract every last iota of performance humanly feasible... You get out what you put in.. You would be hard pressed to find ANY driver that peers Schumacher in this regard... Not only that, Schumacher had a brain, he is/was intelligent, he thought things out, he understood the intrinsic behaviour of the cars he drove, their performances, their strengths and weaknesses, how they did react to inputs and outputs and how they should of, and how he wanted the car to react to inputs and outputs... Absolutely amazing when you think about it... Schumacher was not only a fantastic driver, in my opinion, Alesi, Senna and a few other aside, Schumacher had more balls than the rest of the field put together... Nurnburgring 1995, Schumacher PASSED ALESI! ON SLICKS! IN THE WET!!!! Not to mention.... Lap speed, I still agree that over one lap, Senna's RAW talent and his simply awesomely insane speed would put him tops... Look at Schumacher tho, Hungary 1998... When Ross Brawn sswitched Schumacher to a three stopper, "Michael, your going to a three stopper, I need you to do X amount of laps in X amount of time", Schumacher split the McLarens to shreds and won a very astounding victory... Few others could've delivered what Ross asked for... Or in 2000, at Suzuka when the championship was on the line and Michael produced some of the finest inlaps and outlaps of his career in order to pass Mika during the pitstops.... I still remeber that race... Bloody amazing... He had few peers in normal conditions... In questionable or marginal conditions... Schumacher and Senna stand heads and shoulders above the rest.. I will mention Senna in the Toleman at Monaco (83? 85?) and Donnington in 93....
  9. I heard it would be easier to make a GTS-4 into a GTR spec than it is to make a GTS-T GTR spec... My goal is to one-day make a four door, manual AWD Skyline with an RB30DETT... Big money I know, but that is my dream.... All your engine mounts and a great many other things are different between GTS-T, GTS-4 and GTR, but the fact that GTS-4 already has the ATTESSA AWD system makes the conversion a shit-load easier to accomplish...
  10. 28g's according to F1live... Ouch...
  11. Great list, but my God, I wouldn't want to be the one footing the bill....
  12. On that note... Has anyone had experience with JUN?
  13. USA is NSTC, Japan is PAL, same as Aus I'm pretty sure...
  14. Yeah I dunno aye, I'm a big Ferrari fan, but I think I loved Schumi and muched as I loved Ferrari... I need a new driver to follow, and neither Massa nor Kimi do it for me.... I might have to start going for Kubica... I do like him, Hungary last year won me over... I don't like Hamilton, I think Alonso is a wanker/prick and Schumacher is retired.... It was the greatest injustice for Schumi's engine to blow in Japan...
  15. 1: lol @ T-bone! Taku takes 'drift battle' and 'time attack' into the F1 World! Watch out Europe! 2: Yeah, I like Webber to aye, I'd like to see him do a little better... Either it is the car, or the team.... Poor Mark... He tries so hard... I just love how Super Aguri are pissing all over Honda, and likewise Williams over Toyota... Classic stuff... I agree, I see him as some arrogant little upstart that I can't stand watching or listening too... At least Schumi won a few championships before being up-himself.... Earn ya stripes Hamilton! I much prefer Kubica.... Much more humble, yet very very quick.... F1 live reckons it was a groundhog... :laughing-smiley-014: True tho, I heard he had a good chance at third before hitting the poor little sod... As much as I am a Ferrari nut, I love to see little 'backmarker' teams suprise from time to time.... Much like Webber at Melbourne in 2004! I used to love Arrows before they folded as well... Mangy Cours - 2000. PIT: "David, on your monitors... You've got your hands out of the cockpit..... What is wrong?" DC: "Aahhhhh not much mate, just giving Michael the bird.... I'll pass him in the next lap or two chaps, just make sure there's a pint waiting for me at he end of the race. I'm FTW!"
  16. Ash-tray makes a nice place for coinage!
  17. Teh bottom two pics of the white car is now my baby... I'm a real happy chappy... Great buy, I'd 100% reccomend Paul and the boys at Autoworx. Great group & great service!
  18. However superchargers aren't exactly just superchargers... There is roots, positive displacement, centrifugal..... I myself am a fan of centrifugal supercharging, 0% lag and as RPM climes, so does boost.... I hate nothing more than blokes in V8's boasting that they've got 1000 pounds of torque thanks to 100 PSI of instant boost at 100 rpm! Never had so much off-the-line get up and go! Well when the rubber doesn't blow....
  19. I agree with what your saying, but what I was thinking is that 4wd, a large portion of the Skyline's weight advantage is negated, but something I didn't (and should've) considered was the massive gain in grip and power to ground traction.... I myself have an Rb25DET NEO in my GTT, and yes it is a great motor, but you can tell it is just dieing from some down low grunt... I've got an RB30E in my VL that I'd like to pull out, strip down and rebuild (with forged components), however, I'm at a loss of whether to go for an RB26 head or RB25 head... I can see the merit in going to an RB30DET/DETT... I just need to do it right... I like your comparisons from stop-starts, and rolling acceleration... it is something a lot of people fail to consider, and a well balanced, well built and well tuned engine/vehicle will be a good all-round performer..
  20. Well... The reason I mentioned the RB30DETT was in response to this: I should've been more specific... I can see how capacity may be a major factor, but surely quality of build, quality of mods, response balance and revs would all equate to one engine being superior to the other.... I it isn't like Nissan DON'T know what they were doing when they made the RB's... I've driven cars with simular motors, I've driven my mates non-turbo BA mkII Xr6... I myself have been driving a VL Commodore for over a year, and I will concur that s stock non-turbo Rb30E and a pos engine... Nothing compared to its true Nissan counter-parts... Funny enough, my dad has a Datsun 260Z, with an L26 engine... IIRC it has 150BHP but for some reason, it felt far quicker than it probably was... I will say, driving my mate's Falcon was awesome, and even in non-turbo form there is a fair bit of go there. However, after driving the Datsun around a fair bit, I can see WHY Nissan got to the stage were they were making one of the best inline six motors of our time, even the L26 Engine was bloody fantastic.... In reference the the Rb30DET/DETT however, I just wonder that if you have an inline 4.0 6 cyl Turbo and an RB inline six DET/DETT, would the extra 500cc-400cc with the RB30 be of any benefit for pre-spool torque than say the RB25 or RB26??? Even with the RB30, Nissan engine looses out to the Ford by a litre...
  21. I wonder how a well built RB30DETT would fare against these Ford turbo inline sixes....
  22. Basically, keep your cam gear/s tho... Just do the bigger mods first, like ecu, fmic, cai, exhaust and a few engine tweeks (plugs, leads & coils if it blows your skirt up) and then go to the camshaft/camgear combo... You will get a lot more scope from them a cut a major portion of dyno time, which = saved $$$$'s...
  23. If you do both you loose the function of the Variable Cam Timing on the intake... I myself have been told/instructed to leave on the NVCT...
  24. I must admit, in recent history, the 2000 season was about one of the last I really enjoyed... Hey, I'm an out and out Michael Schumacher fan, but who can forget Mighty Mika's move on Michael at Spa Francochamps that year... Using Zonta as a backmarker and Mika made toast out of Michael whose tyres were in bad shape.... Japan and Nuremburg were great races that year if I recall correctly... Or when Coulthard gave Schumi the the finger at France that year.... Classic...
