Rb25 Tranny Vs Rb26 Tranny
Marco-R34GTT replied to Charles W.'s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well the Rb25 box is only a 5spd isn't it? -
Nah it is a GTT R34 actually, so it would be the turbo Rb25NEO. Just asking what your opinion would be, cause by the look of things, you've got a nack for this kinda stuff, I like what I see... I suppose as things become more cramped and congested, it would require one to be more meticulous and precise? I have seen some Skylines with twin pods... Do you think that twin pods would be a tight fit?
-
Well mate I reckon what you've done is a great job, simple yet effective.. However, I must ask this, what if one was to have a twin pod intake? obviously that would complicate things substancially....
-
Wow that does look great, but I agree, too much light coming off that side LED takes the focus from around the bulb where the illuminated ring is... Can this 'angel eyes' addition be linked to another led that shines down in front of the airdam where the intercooler is, like this BMW one?

Any pics? Do they look any good?
-
Darn... ok, cheers mate!

Is R34 Gtt And R34 Grt Rear Suspension Same?
Marco-R34GTT replied to gtt's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
So you need to lower the ride height a bit? -
I don't quite understand.. I don't doubt whether it would or not, but WHY would and aftermarket bov make you stall on idle? Also, is there many aftermarket bov's that give better performance but don't make more noise?
-
Where abouts are you located mate? or more importantly... The car...

Why Use A Surge Tank? What Is The Real Purpose?
Marco-R34GTT replied to Sayajin's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Really? Wow, never heard of Teflon in braided hoses.... Bugger me, you learn something new every day... -

Good point, sry just got caught up in your posts. Well I'm going from a VL commodore to an R34 GT-T, so, there 'might' be some similarities, as the VL had the RB30 and the R34 the RB25neo. Yeah sry mate, just getting a tad overzealous, I did in fact read the first post. I've been reading a fair bit the last two weeks on this forum, so I kind of gathered power FC was an ECU, I asked only to make sure...
-
So you wouldn't bother with replacing the fuel rail? air filter? or even replace stock flywheel & clutch? PowerFC? I've never heard of it (Being new here and all), so I'm guessing that is an aftermarket ECU right?

Just When You Thought Wrx's Couldn't Get Any Uglier!
Marco-R34GTT replied to bhappy's topic in General Automotive Discussion
W0rd.. Yeah, I agree, that thing isn't just ugly, it is a bloody monstrosity!!! Looks a Suzuki and a Hyundai fused into one and taken to the cleaners with a ten foot ugly stick! -
Broadcasting is horrible here, and yes, regional areas are shocking I agree! Still, just like road building, Australia could learn much from Europe when it comes to coverage of motorsport...

I agree if you can't afford to be their buzz off.. However regulation prevents the teams from creating and innovating in new ideas. I mean we will never see anything like the Tyrrell six wheeler or the Brabham fancar.. It just won't happen, there isn't enough leeway in the rules to allow enough variation between one car from another. Some regulation needs to be put in place, but at the moment, it is all over the shop and the current rules have woefully applied in all the wrong facets of the sport..

Back in the 80's, they approached such revs but could never exceed 11k/12k, this was because conventional valves restricted such high engine revs. Then someone discovered pneumatic valves which opened and closed the valves with little mechanical impediment... They might have to regulate against pnuematic valves to lower revs... I think TDI is the future of F1, just need to lower the revs, even 15k would be ok....

1: F1 is rooted, I have followed it for many years (First season I watched race to race was 1999) and no joke, this passing problem is getting worse! I remember the glory days of when Senna scythed his way through the field at Donnington in 93, or Schumacher on Alesi at the Nurburgring in 1995, not to mention Schumacher on Hakkinen again at the Nurburgring in 2000 and likewise Hakkinen on Schumacher 2000 at Spa Francochamps... Some memorable passing moves, mind you, we can't really forget Brazil 2006 either, THAT WAS SIMPLY AMAZING!!!! However, I doubt what the FIA have done since 2001 has done much to help F1, the only thing I reckon was good in the last few years is the new Qualifying format, the rest is screwed, and the engine rules aren't half bad, but this engine carry over for 2 GP's in crap (I would say 1 engine a weekend, THAT is reasonable).. I can live with V8's, but I can't stand this stupid stupid twin compound race rule, that is bad, even worse, I just hate grooved tires... F1 is digging it's own grave, I like to see F1 being the best sport, with the best teams, the most money and the most drivers, but it is missing some special ingredient... Badly.... I think the FIA needs to somehow bring diesel technology to F1, make the engine manufacturers have to totally rethink policy, design and assembly, thus pegging back F1 back on 27 years of N/A V12/V10/V8 technology... Something along the lines of slicks, two control compounds (tires), 2.0 inline TD (Turbo Diesel - either inline 5's or six cylinder in ANY configuration, flat, vee or inline). Get rid of all those silly winglets on sidepod, nose cone and other places, create (zones) on which external downforce parts may be fitted, and limiting it to the approximate areas of the front and rear wings, with a few exceptions.. Maybe a 'tunnel blocker' device of sorts could be placed between the bottom of the rear wing to the top of the gearbox cover to exasperate the 'drag' effect and giving the car trailing a greater advantage... Cars need more drag, more mechanical grip, and lower straighline speeds (well, not much quicker anyways)... Get rid of TC too, it sucks...

So pistons and rods won't be too good to use past 280kw is that right? Also, on that note, how many kw would the stock crank handle before also requiring to be changed?

Ive Decided To Stop With The Mods
Marco-R34GTT replied to R33GOD's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm guessing fmic is a front mounted inter-cooler right? What are the other two???? -
lol... Ok... Well on that note, if I may ask, is there much around in terms of after market intake manifolds...
-
What are some s/s manifolds that HKS offer. Either I'm a f***wit, or I just can't find bugger all in regards to intake manifolds... I can find exhausts manifolds left right and center, but nothing intake....
