  1. Where did you move the earth wire to? Just to give you something else to think about... On the datalogit forums there's a brief mention regarding the pfc's Ign dwell vs RPM values. It was noted that at low rpm the pfc defaults are too great causing the coils to over heat and run a tad too warm. At high rpm 'apparently' they need a little beefing up. Nothing conclusive but something to look at. It was mentioned that the splitfire coils require slightly different values to that of the genuine nissan coils. The bloke doing the testing measured the values with some special tool designed to measure dwell vs rpm. Well something along those lines anyway.
  2. I've seen silver tops with 2 different colour injectors. Red and a clear yellowish look with a red dot on them. Both are exactly the same 260cc high imp injectors.
  3. Nope haven't taken it for a spin... I miss rev's...
  4. On ya Chops. Any improvements since last year?
  5. I can vouche for AM Performances quality... Awesome looking.
  6. Looks exactly how my guage reads from time to time. Has its bad days and its good. Quite strange how intermittent it is. I've had mine do this with the old motor since I bought it ~110,000km's, dropped the new motor in and it was exactly the same for another 40,000kms or so. I had it tested as I also had a oil pressure problem when braking results where its either the sender or the guage. Mine always works correctly when everything is cold, 15-20mins down the road and it starts playing up 'sometimes'. When I looks exactly I really mean exactly.. 100% exactly where it sits low and how it reacts and how high it goes when reving. I suspect my issue is the sender as a really quick rev to 5000rpm+ 'sometimes' gets the guage working correctly again. As I said mines been like this since I bought the car which was 4.5yrs ago. But do get yours tested, however it is cheaper to simply buy an elec guage. They are not that expensive. If possible do a little test for me... Drive at 80-100km/h and really hit the brakes to stop as quick as possible. What the oil guage as you do so... Mine for some strange reason stops working, the needle drops to 0 and the red oil light comes on. As I said above I've had it tested with a seperate oil pressure guage and it reads normal meanwhile the std drops to 0.
  7. lol.. when mine gets a whiff of boost I wait for my other half to start complaining about petrol.. My excuse.. it doesn't really make that much difference to a tank of juice.
  8. lol thats where the Recaro baby seat comes in handy.. *joke* I'm not silly with the bubs in the car. Not silly even without the bubs in the car, might give it a little squirt to the speed limit but thats it. I actually worry too much speeding, freaks me out when I see ppls fly past me doing an easy 20km's over the speed limit. How things have changed. and no I don't really have a recaro baby seat. I settled on a Safe n' Sound Compaq. Awesome little seat.
  9. R32Dreamer, Bugger about the insurance. Oh well.... let us know what you decide to do with the car (private wreck or flog it off to a wrecker) as I'm after a few bits and pieces.
  10. There comes a point where dialing in more boost only induces detonation and the amount of ign retard required for it not to detonate doesn't increase power. The GCG highflows are running the std turbine housing and std comp cover. 450bhp ~260rwkw is a damn good effort taking that in to consideration. Better fuel.. No doubt you can make more power, on pump fuel it appears unlikely.
  11. You have a little to spend. A rough price... As a basis you'll need. Buy from Japland.. $0330 - Fuel pump $0700 - Injectors $1000 - ECU (PowerFC) $0400 - PFC Boost Kit $0800 - FMIC Kit $0050 - Catch Can $0550 - Clutch $0330 - AFM ------------------------- $4160 Now you have to pay some one to fit the parts if unable to do so your self. Your also going to need a decent preferably 3.5" exhaust, unsure what they are worth. You also need a turbo. Something along the lines of a GT30. You 'should' be able to get away with it for 10k. And thats the motor/performance side of things only WITHOUT Labour and Tuning costs. Budget 15k for 300rwkw or 10k for 250 mayybe 270rwkw. Now you need suspension and brakes. http://www.nengun.com and http://www.gktech.com.au
  12. How does the power curve compare? Post a dyno sheet.
  13. This is the strange part, as its a new motor have you checked all your earths? Maybe a bad earth is causing rpm drop and as a coincidence the oil light to show? A stab in the dark but its worth a look.
  14. Out of curiosity.... Are you able to take note of how the cams have affected fuel economy if at all.
  15. lol... Half the time I don't even notice what other cars around me actually are.. Its my other half that says he waved at you or oh you see that car... That is unless some knob in his r32/r33 or silvia comes up next to me saying 'look i have a blow off valve psssht psssht'. The majority who do this are P platers but.
  16. Nope didn't even notice... Was simply cruising in the 380 Fagna. So what happened?
  17. Thats one of those just jap 2.5" hks style dumps HRthirtyone?
  18. Done.. something I should have done a long time ago..
  19. Spotted AM-Performance around town last night. I was in a gay 380 GT Magna 5speed Auto. Not too bad but still fwd and has issues with traction, its traction control lets wheel spin go for too long then really cuts power hard. Then spotted an idiot in his VS V6 Supercharged Calais loose it at the bottom of Anzac Highway. He held his foot in to it too much turning right on to Anzac in front of KFC, Basically it snapped around on him spinning the car smashing it up over the gutter hitting a small pole and stuffing 2 maybe 3 rims. He would be stressing this morning, lmoa. Silly, no need to go that hard.
  20. I was actually pretty impressed with my little mildly modified Rb20det. It only made 164rwkw running 1bar of boost with an exhaust & fmic. Up and rolling it was as quick if not a bee's dick quicker than a 100% stock R33 GTR. Now thats not bad really.. It also never ever had issues and never had an R33 with the exact same mods beat it. My little R32 was always a little quicker. A mate at the time had an R33 with the same mods but obviously making more power than I. His car clearly weighs more and has longer gearing. Driving the R33 vs driving my little R32 the R32 won hands down, it was so much more fun to drive especially when boost snaped on hard exiting a corner in second. He even stated the R32 felt quicker, and it was. All though for some reason these days there appears to be quite a few r33's pushing 200rwkw on their stock ecu, back then it didn't happen. Most likely different dyno software or something. Once you pass those first few mods the R32 gets left behind. They require a turbo upgrade that increases lag and makes the car just that little bit harder to drive. I've never been in Roy's but from the dyno graph it does look impressive, looks like it has that 'fun' factor. An example is the crude power to weight.. Lets go with 1550 for the gtr and 1320 for the 32 gtst. The gtr needs ~30rwkw more in order to achieve a similiar power to weight. An R33... Needs roughly 15rwkw more than the 32 to achieve a similiar power to weight. Thats going off the 33 weighing in at 1415kg's. A friend had his on a weigh bridge some years ago. Power to weight comparisons are crude as, I don't like using them but it does help bring the weight issue in to perspective. In conclusion the Rb20 will never make power easier than an rb25 or rb26 for that matter. The advantage it has is Nissan tied it up in a lighter car with shorter gearing that all works in its favour.
  21. Taken from calaisturbo.com that was taken from ausrotory forums. Probably stated before bbbj discovered it was bill making the purchase. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is what i was told today , from a daughter of a prominent TF bike team owner & who also works for ANDRA Track should have been sold today to Bill Russo, and has also purchased the land next to Speedway City. Not sure if SC is included. AIR will be demolished, and a new track will be built, possibly facing the other direction - no more racing into the sun. Admin buildings will be at Speedway City end. Apparently Tony Thornton,Bill & TF bike owner were discussing ideas over lunch earlier this week. ONCE AGAIN - TIME WILL TELL --------------------
  22. If she goes without... you go without..
  23. The idea does have some serious flaws. Mind u it would be difficult to chop an address. Its an idea.. Just getting a little frustrated with the rip offs especially when I see parts with sellers that have a handfull of posts. Oh well maybe suggest COD only... That too has its flaws for the seller but I guess thats the risk the seller should take if they are not a regular.
  24. Yer all R33's ran VCT on the inlet cam. R34's with the neo motor ran VCT I 'believe' on both the inlet and exh. You can see the lump(s) on the cam belt cover.
  25. Frog, The problem is if every one paid on the day then only a small hand full of people turn up it wouldn't be worth shauns time. Lay a deposit, if the numbers aren't made the deposit will be refunded.
