  2. There's no such thing as 300rwkw on a limited budget. There's also no such thing as a street rb20det making 300rwkw.. Well there is if you don't mind having no boost in the first 3gears. Settle on a sensible power level and go from there.
  3. Pitty about pinnacle.. a nice quick clean interface. Give it a shot encoding in wmv as it usually produces good quality 640x480 vids with a very reasonable file size. Divx is another good codec.
  4. Pinnacle has a new patch out if your not aware. Most likely introduce more bugs as it fixes some.

  6. Well there's no point throwing one of those manifolds on to make a little more power only to find you have blown a hole in it as soon as you give it a bit of a hard time.
  7. Maybe it was a coincidence. I will find out next time its on the dyno. Out of curiosity.. What heat range plugs are you running? 300rwkw on the dyno I run on usually see's NGK 8's in the car.

  14. With regards to knock.. Mine tends to have a consistent level of knock and if I dial in another degree it will then simply spike. Its not like you throw another degree in it and you will see 60 then 70 then 90 it will go from 40-50 to 90-100+ Thats with mine anyway. I have noticed something interesting that I didn't expect since I dropped a set of cooler plugs in.. Knock levels went from the usual 30,40's with the odd 50 to 13-20 max. Peak torque was also able to take another degree where as before it would always knock. The 6's I pulled out according to the old spark plug reading method were simply too hot for the application. I've now got 7's in it with zero fouling, however I don't leave the car idling warming it up, I simply start wait 30seconds while I throw on the seat belt etc and drive off slowly. Now I've sorted out my cat that died it now screams up top however its now getting a little knock at around 5500rpm. Time to throw it on the dyno again. Fixing the cat made a massive difference to spool and boost response. This is especially noticable in top gear at low rpm, now the boost guage simply flings to full boost.

  16. I personally would buy a cheap small run about and then keep the worked 180sx. At least then you can have a play from time to time. In the skyline thats stock... boaring..
  17. I've used Kapersky but found it a little bloated for the amount of ram in my system. 512mb + the license ran out, that was the real reason for me stop using it. I did find it to be excellent and definitely give it a thumbs up. I haven't used bitdefender so wouldn't know. I haven't upgraded in years, its about time I didn.
  18. infected flow.. My cheapo china manifold do zilch comment appears to be incorrect. Well it was correct at lower power levels. An rb25 making just under 300rwkw stock exh. manifold back to back with a china cheapo manifold picked up 20rwkw. I should mention it wasn't a stock exh. manifold to china manifold it was vice versa. He was running around with the china manifold on, blew a hole in it so went back to the stock exh. manifold and lost 20rwkw. Low mid was fairly similiar, just high mid-top end difference. I don't care.. You speculate.. I know what I've seen on the dyno including back to back runs dyno displays.
  19. Replaced the capacitors on the linux box motherboard. 2nd one in I got the hang of it and now can do capacitor in roughly 5mins. The trick I found is to use a really pointy ground down soldering tip, flux pen and desolder wick. Remove capacitor, shove desolder wick over the holes, shove soldering iron in to hole and hold, the solder sucks up in to the desolder wick and the hole is clean, plaster flux over the legs of the new capacitor and motherboard. Little dab of solder on to the tip of the soldering iron and due to the flux on the legs and motherboard the solder literally just sucks its self on nice and cleanly. I've done one board in the past that took a whole day to replace 10capacitors, difference was I didn't use the desolder wick. That gear saves so much time.

  22. I believe this to be so as prior to the ecu and cams the old VS on the open road would get around 11L/100km's.
  23. Cool... But only one of your LCD screens. I doubt we will be able to fit your 180degree panorama lcd display in the back room. lol awesome. Or was that Platnium?
  24. 1. Dyno 2. See 1. GT35r .82 went from very low 300rwkw (on 18psi from memory) to 336rwkw on the same boost by simply dropping on a nice exh. manifold. Also numerous RB25's and RB30's on the dyno I run on that have hit a brick wall around 300rwkw. It literally is a brick wall. I haven't seen any start pushing 330rwkw on the stock exh. manifold. Those cheapo china exh. manifolds do zilch, well so the dyno says.
