  1. There was a bloke floating around the forums a little while back who converted his R32 to LPG. Apparently got it done then never heard from him again.
  2. Setting up a performance car is all about the package. Inlet air temp compensation should not be taking in to account. Ambient yes.. Why should the pod bloke receive a slightly inflated figure when at the strip the conditions are not 'equaled' via an IT temp sensor.
  3. Drop carlh an email, he used a cheapo Z32 ignitor, with a few pinout swaps. Cheap and its new.
  4. Watch that mid range skyrocket once you do bring on the boost.
  5. Bloke I knew in his 33 had 213rwkw, ran 108mph and a 13.1. 2.1 60ft with granny shifts.
  6. No... Its a very poor setup. What turbine wheel is it running, a motor is generally limited by its hotside, not its compressor.
  7. Yer don't be SOFT!!! Awesome stuff carl... You appear to be a picture man like myself.. Keep them coming.
  8. hrmm.. well i'm soon to hit the dyno again soon so I'll grab a print out of back to back. I won't fiddle, there's nothing to gain by doing so.
  9. Be aware to throw a jun or proengines crank collar on the crank it requires removal of the crank.
  10. Are you sure thats correct and not the other way around? I've seen exactly the opposite. Higher power readings in a greater shootout mode. A dyno day last year this was also shown when a car ran up on Shoot6 mode then ran up on shoot8f mode and made another 30rwkw. Nothing changed no fiddlings nothing. I've too seen this with my car the last time it hit the dyno, all though the difference wasn't as great as 30rwkw. I believe there was also an article on the ford turbo forums showing the same that I have seen.
  11. The noise is probably lifters that have bled down slightly anyway. Give it 50km's or so and it will be quiet again. Throw some nice oil in it and off you go again.
  12. If you really want to clean her up throw some Mobil Delvac 1 in. Its a diesel full synth 5w40 and can be picked up for under $60 ($50 here in Adelaide) Don't let diesel scare you, its perfectly fine in a petrol engine and meets the API SL specification for gasoline engines, mobil state so them selves. http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS...vac_1_5W-40.asp OR.. Even better, throw Motul 300v through it, nothing cleans like an ester based oil. Bob is the Oil Guy
  13. I too have this issue. Have had it with the old motor as well, the new motor was new running a different oil pump etc. On the dyno mine always appears to be fine so I can't get it tested. It has been suggested it 'may' be a sticky relief valve as when mine does it a couple of quick free rev's to 5500rpm+ has the oil pressure sitting normal again. But as it was the same on the old motor it buggers me. Most likely the guage and the car has done quite a few kays.
  14. Unusual.. I think your solution was a fluke... Maybe you lucked out some where or there's an issue some where else that you have some how managed to fixed unknowingly.
  15. Roy, I think the other dude meant to say the 'R34' thermostat begins to open at 82degree's. The R32/R33 on the other hand begins at 76degree's. If the thermostat is genuine or not also depicts the cars operating temperature and how quickly the thermostat opens completely. The genuine opens slow and by little amounts until its nice and hot. This results in a slightly warmer running temp with less fluctuations and a considerably quicker warmup. The aftermarkets (supercrap autostores etc) open wide and really quickly, the aftermarkets also take ages for the car to reach operating temp from a cold start. On my sisters VL it would tend to run hotter under consistent load with the aftermarket but run cooler just pottering around, in the R32 I haven't seen this problem, it simply ran cool all the time; all though I didn't get to 'really' test it out in hot weather. I dropped the genuine thermostat in the VL as it ran much better and wouldn't over heat when giving it a boot full up willunga hill. Both genuine and aftermarkets are rated to 76.5degree's. (I sound like a record) I recently said the same in another thread.
  16. Yer typo... I do think you missed my point though.
  17. Yer the guage (2 other R32 guages I've also seen) reads half from around 70degree's right up to 108degree's or there abouts.
  18. It won't be anything to do with the exhaust or wastegate side of things. Check all piping for vacuum leaks, maybe in the heat of the moment you accidently missed nipping up a hose clamp. Have you bumped up boost? Maybe the fuel pump is no longer keeping up. Have you got the bumper back on? Care to post a few pics of the fmic behind the front bar? Also could you do me a favour and measure from the top of the ic to the very bottom of the ic piping? I'm after another fmic but want something that uses the stock piping route, as the blitz item does.
  19. And which shootout mode are you talking about? There's many and as the number rises the ramp rate is less to prevent wheel spin.. i.e the difference between SHOOT6 and SHOOT81. The Shoot81 is much softer than shoot6 and for some strange reason shoot81 also reads around 30rwkw higher, well in a back to back run that I've seen.
  20. Its still running near stock boost and a small crappy turbo, so only mild. The motor has lots of torque but thats about it. No high rpm which I am really starting to miss. The highlight of my day last dyno day was Sky30's rb30 and MS75 pushing out 391.1rwkw. Both sound awesome and seriously grunty.
  21. Well there's no bending of the rules then... If we are able to get a decent number 20odd (which it looks we already are) then its SAU only. No Nissan silvia/calais turbo members that are not sau members etc.. Don't take it personally... It wasn't meant to come across as such. People like Platnium, chops, busky2k (may be some more I've left out) by all means are 100% welcome as they are what I consider SAU members. You know your all welcome anyway, as you are us... SAU...
  22. Roy, What FMIC you running? I noticed a slight decrease in response when dropping the FMIC on to mine, I think its a poo fmic, bar/plate sperco core with the in/out located in the center of the core. It also runs poo 2.25" piping. So its poo poo.
  23. Mine cracks 95degree's in traffic. The stock guage starts reading greater than half once you hit *from memory* around 108degree's. Then it quickly heads north.
  24. So I guess restrict it to board members then... i.e platnium with his vlt, chops and his ls1 etc.. Is that what we are all getting at or even those two can't run?
