  1. Nope nothing to do with the resistor pack.. 100% completely my stupid fault.. There's a little thread in the SA section regarding an elect. repairer. Its in force electronics now getting looked at, nothing is burnt it just doesn't work. Are you tuning on the std injectors? Who's tuning it at Tilbrooks? Tim still there by any chance?
  2. I had a look at Bl4ck32's PFC this morning, it too has the little cut disabling ecu pin 57. So it appears AP Engineering do indeed use one of the rb25 revisions (possibly an early one as the ap engineering pfc uses the early hand controllers) swap the two injector outputs and disable the pin 57.
  3. Do remember its possibly lower than 10:1 as thats the widebands limit. Enough fuel there to hydraulic it.
  4. Hey ppls, thought I'd bump this thread back up.. I do remember a discussion a little while back revealed there's quite a few ppls on SAU that have Internode as their ISP. A quick question.. How do you find their relatively new Premium Usenet service since retention has rose close to around 40days. Its awesome on dsl2.
  5. Thats correct. The motor will spin over at the correct rpm, place less strain on your starter and battery.
  6. Was in a rush.. asked for a top right positive battery. Got home, threw it in the car, threw on the positive, as the negative clamp touched the terminal it sparked and instantly popped the 75amp main fuse ($33 suckers), 10amp incar fuse and chances are my powerfc as now there's no relay click and no display on the pfc h/c The bastard is it was a cheap battery to get me by while I send the old battery off for warranty, the cheap battery has very difficult to see + and - signs, unlike the old battery that has a clear RED marking under the positive side. Well enough excuses I 100% completely stuffed up badly and should have checked. The PFC appears to look and smell fine inside but pin 57 does appear to have a cut in a trace that runs from it, IF this done by AP Engineering or not I don't know, by eye it looks like a precision cut, by camera in macro mode I think it looks like its blown but not burnt, if thats possible. Hows that for a I'M A TOTAL IDIOT story. As a result I'm now researching in to this..... An RB25 PFC will be going in if this R32 item is buggered.
  7. RB240Dav, Mine too simply have the springs, mines an 1992 R32 GTST, the coils have now done 210,000km's. ~60,000km's on the clock when I bought the car, I've done 150,000km's in it.
  8. Definitely some potential. Nice.
  9. For those interested (PaulR33 possibly in his pfc faq thingo majig) I've attached a little animated gif of the differences between the r33 and r32 ecu's..
  10. That is NO WHERE NEAR as stupid as what I recently did.
  11. Interesting, well as soon as I find out if my pfc is fried or not I'll throw an rb25 pfc in to it. Seems almost too easy. kwazza11, Can I ask you if you did the install your self or had some one else do it. I know you did said 'you' switched the two inj. outputs on the loom. Just to double check it was indeed you who did the work as then I know your not leaving something out.
  12. kwazza11, So that is 100% all you did? Simply swap the inj. outputs? I've attached an excel file that depicts the two pinouts, flick between the two tabs to see the highlighted differences. There are a few, one which is of concern is the rb25 lacks the rb20's throttle valve switch (pin 54) and in place of the rb20's throttle valve power (pin 57) it has the exhaust temp sensor signal. On the RB25's ecu pin 17 Injection pulse TI monitor, I wonder if this is the R33's Rich and retard mechanism, it see's x inj. duty cycle then does its mental power dips from there on wards. It would be interestering if the rb25 pfc has this internally connected, if not then I would suggest it does exactly what I stated. I'll throw the GTR pin out in there now. ecu_pinout_compare.zip
  13. Don't spoil the awesome midnight purple with too much pearl.
  14. I wont be.... No friggin ecu. I think I've fried the PFC, until I get my hands on a stock ecu I won't be able to tell. Hows it running anyway? Starting to get a little more throttle and boost in to it?
  15. The throttle switch power supply does see 12v. Oh well I'll get it repaired and fingers crossed it starts to work... I doubt it but. Oh well.. I'll throw an rb25 pfc in to it.
  16. I hope not. This has to be THE most stupid thing I have done. Too busy flying around like a chook with its head cut off.
  17. Paul what version powerfc is yours? R32 one may be a bitsa.
  18. I spotted this while going through a heap of photo's I took. Hrmm.. by eye it looks as if a machine did the cut, using the camera it looks like its blown. ? What does this look like to you? Even if it is the throttle switch power supply (pin 57) I don't understand how that will simply stop the pfc powering up, but yes.. Most likely another fuse I missed.
  19. hrmm yes.. Quite embarrassing really.
  20. Its 100% a diode though as it has the little diode picture underneath it.
  21. It does come in from a power input. How would I do a diode check? An ohm check to see if current flows?
  22. I've taken a heap of pictures of the pcb so if your interested I can email a whole heap or how ever. After a little looking I came across whats circled in red.. I'm quietly confident this would have saved the PFC. As you will know if you read the previous thread the RB20DET PFC is nothing more than an RB25 PFC thats had a couple of ecu pinsouts relocated.. Which is a well known wiring mod if you drop an rb25 in to an R32.
  23. GTSTD1, It would also be good to hear your off the record perspective on the new hoon laws, I really hope you participate in a functional discussion.. Ignore the minority *cough redgtst* as he enjoys stirring and seeing how far he can push us moderators.
  24. Thanks you give me hope.
  25. Here's the other thread with pics. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...0entry2299801 I've got another ecu to test but can't get my hands on it until next thursday.
