  1. Nope just a prototype and production difference.
  2. I have driven a dedicated gas car for 5 years and never experienced the problems in any of the situations you speak of and my ute is heavily loaded on a regular basis. I am speaking for dedicated gas not dual fuel, there is a significant difference in performance and economy over a dual fuel car.
  3. Dedicated gas falcon, BA Mk 2 will fit the budget easily. Fuel bill of a 4 cylinder with the room of a large family sedan. I have had my dedicated gas ute for 5 years and get upto 550kms to tank for around $40 dollars and that just an au, the ba's are much more effcient geting around 650-700 highway kms to a tank for the same $40 mark. Cheap parts, easy servicing, comfortable and great economy.
  4. Hey guys, in the process of pulling the gearbox out so the OS Giken box can go in. How do you get to the top starter motor bolt, it's proving to be a pain in the ass? I have already disconnected everything else that needs to be.
  5. No worries i will give the castrol a go.
  6. Sounds good and will more than meet my needs. What oil do you run in yours? I was using light weight shockproof in my last box but i have heard mixed opinions. It takes all the noises away in a worn box but when you dismantle a box that has been using it, the oil is stuck to everything but the gears.
  7. When they shoehorn a VR38tt into a 32 GTR shell
  8. Finally got a new gearbox without the trouble of waiting for it to come from overseas. The box is being assembled as we speak and consist of an OS Giken close ratio gearset with upgraded input shaft, all new synchros, bearings and seals. Just could not bring myself to buy some worn out wrecking yard box with unknown history. Basically paid the same as it would cost to build one here but i dont have to wait 3-4 weeks for parts to arrive from Japan and then assembley time, labour costs etc. Looking forward to the added reliability.
  9. One of the most switched on poeple i and my family have had experience with lately is Steve Bell at Bell's Auto's on main north road. His experience is varied but his undestanding of the workings of the internal combustion engine and every aspect that affects its function is amazing. I believe Martin has had experience with Steve also.
  10. Greenline quoted me $2,750 delivererd just last week. Bought one already built here in aus instead.
  11. How about Terry's built box for $1,700
  12. They dont make a -5 2560 only -1,-4 and -9 which is a direct replacement for r34 gtr.
  13. Series 3 R33 gtr FULL street trim, 368awkw=11.1@130mph. This was on 19's with average driver, shit rubber, i dont have the timeslip so cant tell you the 60 foot time but i can tell you there is spin and torque steer in 1st gear so could go quicker on better rubber.
  14. Go garrett and you should not be spending more than $2,500 for the turbo's alone. About $2,100 for a pair of 2560's. Greenline and Nengun are overseas mailorder traders that are only necessary if you are going with trust or hks etc. All garrett stuff is in stock in most states. For your power goals, i think the 2560's would be a great choice with nice early spool and great power potential with the right supporting mods.
  15. My current car and my last car both have CP forgies and they both rattle upon start up. High silicone pistons also known as hypereutectic are weaker than forged in general.
  16. That would be cool as long as people start putting their hand up with something to offer from each model.
  17. Forged pistons are slightly rattly upon start up untill they are upto operating temp/expansion. You should not notice it once the engine is up to temp though.
  18. I am getting 368awkw on low mount 2560's at 22 psi on pump fuel with Tomei 260 degree cams.
  19. I bought mine already built from another forum member, white series 3 full built engine, purposefull styling mods and 370-390rwkw.
  20. Maybe i should give my car a little tidy up, i think i meet the kw requirement.
