  1. Or you could do a Hightower and do this
  2. Just a quick question why did you change R34 Vspec diffs to R33 Vspec diffs?
  3. I agree with the others the MR2 is a great car, my brother had one but its ability to snap over steer and also the fact that hes still learning to drive i wouldn't suggest the Mr2 for your second car. My second car was a Honda CRX i still think it was the most fun car I've ever driven. It wont keep up with the turbo terrors but a car doesn't have to be fast in a straight line to be enjoyable to drive get some sticky tires for it some coilovers and because it only weighs 900 kilos you could take it to your favourite spot or the track and because its light you shouldn't go through too many tires or pads ultimately turning it into a cheap track day car. As a lot of these guys tend to say pick a heap of cars that tickle your fancy then go and test drive them i thought the CRX was awesome but it may be too slow for you in a straight line or you may prefer rear wheel drive, slowly get a list together and go and find your next ride.

  5. Shitty to hear but this doesn't surprise me at all when i was younger i used to ride my bike to school came back to my bike at the end of the day to find my plastic air caps had been stolen. So if someone is willing to steal plastic air caps which are worth a cent imagine what else they will steal, always better be safe than sorry. My girlfriends mum parked her car in the street on the weekend some wanker threw a beer bottle through the back window, seriously the world is a f**king joke.
  6. If i get lined up by this thing i think i might give it a wide berth i get the feeling it'll be a bit of an animal. I'd love to do a conversion like this on my 33. A mate of mine really wants an s15 with an rb26 his dream ride i guess.
  7. i just had the cam belt done the mechanic has written that the idler pulley for the a/c has seized.so do you think that the idler pulley has seized do to a bigger problem. the cam belt itself hasnt snapped
  8. Recently my car has sounded like a rusty chainsaw and on my way home on Thursday night my car stopped and i had to have it towed. I had a family friend who's a mechanic look at it and he said the idler pulley had been set too tight consequently the belt finally snapped after 5 years of ownership. My question is ive had problems with erratic idle and if i had the air con on for too long the car would simlpy die what other problems could occur, like increased fuel consumption due to the idler pulley set too tightly any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated as i'm not too mechanically minded.
  9. I can't speak for everyone but i think it would be worth the time everyone would think you're awesome in prison either that or you'll get raped
  10. i heard today that new law is just about to be put in place where suspended sentences will be eradicated for serious offenses. It's not perfect but it is a step in the right direction. What i don't understand is why it was tolerated before. My father used to be a police officer he still has friends that are cops he said that these guys don't have assets in their name because if they rough up the wrong person they get sued we need to empower the people that protect us its like having a rottie for protection then saying its bitten a few people lets take its teeth out, sure you have a menace of an animal but without bite its useless. The cops can stop these little faggots they just need support. So instead of slagging them off realise there is a bigger picture, you do their job deal with what they have to its not great. And i find it funny whenever you have a problem who do you call if you think the coppers are so useless, why did you call them? in the future just accept whats happened and move on. Oh and that top bloke saying even the cops are scared of him, i doubt that mate.
  11. My first Japanese car was a Honda CRX it didn't have a body kit or subs the only thing it had was 17 inch rims and very sticky tires and yes a skyline or a Holden or ford would smash it in a straight line but that wasn't where the fun lay with that particular car. Yes in everyday traffic it lacks low down torque as you have been complaining but that's not the point of the car it really comes into own when you're in the twisties and you're working the sweetly gated gear box and keeping the engine in the sweet zone where it generates its power you wont be the fastest on the track/hills but you will be having a lot of fun. The thing that concerns me about this conversation is you are so quick to judge please understand there are horses for courses straight line speed is awesome but what is better is all round balance. It wasn't a type r but i do understand where and why honda has so many type r fans.
  12. Mate i was in your position not long ago all i did was chase money at the end the best i could do was nearly 700 a week im 27 now and toward the end i felt depressed and shitty because i was applying for all these apprenticeships and no one wanted me fair enough too.and not just that all my friends where trade qualified or had uni degrees and where earning good money.its a shit feeling being poor mate.LISTEN and listen good do an apprenticeship and find one you like offer your services for free on weekends or during the week or whatever suits you best just because someone says do electrical you may not like it try them all and then make your choice then go do a pre apprenticeship ,you may get picked up during the pre apprenticeship.if you have the intelligence maybe do a uni degree but at the end youll have to pay back a tidy amount of money ,with an apprenticeship you get paid to learn and your debt free at the end and you can earn about the same money as a uni grad theres no future in unskilled work change youre life now while you can because you might find it very difficult later on .theres also all sorts of incentives from the government now do it mate while you can
  13. Personally i think the epa is a load of shit, i used to have a 3 and a half inch exhaust all the way through and i loved it but every 6 to 8 months id be epa'd which is fair enough i knew the risks. In my eyes for a system to be fair their has to be no bias when i say bias have you been driving down the road and a truck vents its exhaust gasses or a Harley goes by you and its decibel rating would be in the millions yet its OK because that's how it came from factory and with every wanker harping on about fuel economy yet when you do something about it you get EPA as r31 nismo was saying. all it is is sheer nannying and pestering if they really cared cars over a certain age would be crushed and if you couldn't afford a new car you catch the public transport system decibel ratings would be universal hence why i believe EPA is bullshit
  14. Me and couple of friends are going to the Bulla rally we've organized accommodation in Mansfield so that's all taken care of. I do have a few questions can you sit on the mountain and watch or can you only be at the start and finish does it cost anything to watch and most importantly can you bring booze. Since where staying in Mansfield once we get to bulla is their anywhere to park if you're not competing. Are any of youze planning a cruze up together as this would make the three hour trip more enjoyable Any other information would be appreciated thanks
  15. I used to have a 180 with an sr20det the engine itself sounds a bit agricultural but the mid range torque is ALOT better than the rb25. Im talking standard (exhaust, podfilter) if you plan on leaving it standard a skyline will take you up top i dont care what the rest of the people say its almost line ball to about 85 to 90 then the skylines strong top end runs away i think the sr20 perfectly suits the 180 and sylvia.dont bother with the rb20 if youre planing on doing a conversion powerwise they are about the same i think the sr20 has more torque standard. Also i hear once you put coilovers on a 180 the font end can tend to be a bit bouncy on uneven surfaces and having an rb20 or 25 because of the extra weight settles the front end a bit but you will have to have someone who has done the conversion to confirm this, but this too has its draw backs more weight over the front wheels it will also upset the balance nissan chose to endow the 180 with. And i know it sounds stupid but have a look at prices to modify an sr less cylinders=less coil packs when or if you chose to modify i also found extractors where cheaper and even just for maintenance sparkplugs but like with all things drive a 180 with an rb20-25 if you can and one with an sr and make youre choice YOU are spending youre hard earned dollars so you might as well make yourself happy not what people who dont know you think
  16. seems as though the new gtr suffers the same problems of its older brother blisteringly quick but ultimately uninvolving.oh well take enjoyment in the fact that while youre smashing everything else on track...i was going to add more but i think that bout sez it
  17. i can tell you that it was designed for the american market to shovel snow on the cold mornings
  18. i think something must have been broken on it) prolly the gearbox:-)
  19. was wondering if you still had the rims and if they would fit an r33 s1
  20. hey alex will you be able to send these on or is it strictly pick up only.because id like to purchase them ill obviously pay postage its up to you
  21. "than u buy one and gotta spend 10k on the engine to make decent power, and the second u flat shift it the gearbox gose through the floor..... Grab a brand new WRX sti or wateva. and a old r32 gtr, 2009 vs 1989..... put 15grand into both and see who comes out on top" i agree once you start putting money into skylines they are a better car but thats the problem you have to put money into it and if i did buy a gtr you dont know if it has oil reserve problems and youre up for a rebuild and everyone knows that the gtr is an endless pit. I was saying for a stock car its better, i dont know bout the rest of youze but ive never flat shifted any car i have mechnaical sympathy.i drove a 1996 sti and i liked it the way it was, i dont want to spend any more money on it its an excellent responsive package.i never thought id go a suby over a skyline but times change. And 15g geez i only spent 16 on my skyline when i broght it i couldn't justify spending that much on mods but people do it and im really happy for them.its just not for me
