  1. Im getting a bad missfire on boost at around 4000-5500rpm. My mods are as follows: Series II RB25DET with: HKS 2530 turbo @ 20psi Splitfires + plugs 0.8 gapped PowerFC FMIC Bosch 023 pump 3" Split dump pipe + cat back Custom exhaust manifold Stock injectors @ 80-90% duty on 20psi Hybrid boost controller(which spikes badly) the most recent thing ive added is a HKS SSQV, can this be the problem? Or is it something else like an air leak? Im also getting knocking every now and then when i boost it to 20psi(mainly during the daytime in hotter weather), if I reduce it to 1 bar or 14psi there is no knocking or missfires. Anyone know what the problem could be? Cheers.
  2. Makes sence what your saying, but I have a PFC installed with a Z32 AFM and its been tuned on an atmo GFB BOV previously.. I had no problems with the GFB, but I thought id give the SSQV a go.. I have the newest SSQV so there is NO pressure regulator on it and I cant tighten the valve spring.. When the valve opens to release the air into the atmo, it takes longer to close than the GFB i previously had, so when I accelarate again after changing gears the valve is still open for a second and the air doesnt get into the plenum causing a stall/labour.. On a positive note, the SSQV holds boost much better than the GFB i previously had..

I just received and installed a HKS SSQV Bov into my RB25DET the simple way, but after the installation I noticed on the instructions which came with it says to disconnect the battery (-) cable.. I didnt do this, does anyone know why it needs to be done prior to installation? or is it OK to leave it connected whilst installing? Also, im getting a real bad boost drop when changing gears, almost as if its leaking.. Has anyone else got this problem with the new SSQV? Cheers.

  6. i got this same problem, i hear a loud hissing like noise come from the plenum at high boost and notice my PSI drop from 20 to 15.. I still haven't got around to pulling the plenum apart and changing the gasket, but i'm pretty sure thats the problem..

  12. whats your timing degrees tuned at? if you take out 1 - 2 degrees timing, you will get slightly better mid range power but less peak power..

  16. The HKS GT-RS is an option.. but im not sure if the Garrett GT3071R is a bolt on for the RB25DET? what flange does it have? And im definately not going to just whack on the biggest turbo I can find without working the internals, I just want 260-280rwkw..

I've recently got a PFC tuned on my RB25DET and am getting 224rwkw @ 22psi with the following mods: HKS 2530kai turbo Custom TuneAgent s/steel exhaust manifold Split dump pipe + 3" Catback FMIC Bosch 023 fuel pump PFC + HC (currently on 40deg and 80% stock injectors duty) Z32 AFM Turbosmart T-Piece boost controller Also purchasing SARD 550cc injectors.. Mid range power is really good with the HKS 2530, but I want more peak power and if possible to have good/decent mid range aswell.. My question is, what replacement turbo can I buy to get around the 260/280rwkw range with my current setup (preferable side mount bolt on)?
