  1. OK jmp, will do
  2. OK what's your favourite DTS movie soundtrack or particular scene? Mine would be the openning battle scene of Gladiator.
  3. I used to use mine all the time, my last place had a nice white wall to project onto. It's like a personal cinema. New place has *gag* yellow walls in the living room and I only have a crappy old 120cm screen, it's just not the same. I'm thinking of selling mine actually seeing as I never use it now
  4. Sony 5.1 Amp/Reciever (can't remeber the model 645 or summit) Pioneer 515 DVD (yes it's old but does the job) Panasonic 80cm TV Sony CS-1 SuperLite LCD Projector Yamaha active sub woofer at the front US Audio passive sub between the surrounds at the rear 2x Jensen front speakers Jamo centre speaker 2x US Audio surround speakers
  5. Having a DVD and watching it on a tiny 68cm TV is a waste also.
  6. I'm supposed to be putting in a few hours at work but if I can't be bothered I'd be up for a drive laterish.
  7. I've almost convinced myself that it was just the angle that meant the detector didn't him pickup, if he'd been behind or infront it would have gone off. Looks like I've found the weakness in the detector, it really needs to be a little dome thing on the roof that picks up 360 degrees around you plus above you aswell for those freeway overpasses. Although it would probably look stupid.
  8. I had the 'line 3 days and thought "I am DEFINITELY going to lose my licence in this thing" so I forked out $700 and it has saved me countless times, until this morning.
  9. The BEL 980 does pick up laser aswell as radar, it won't jam it though, just detect it.
  10. Has anyone heard about a new type of radar gun in use by the Police here in WA? The reason I'm asking is I just got my first speeding fine in 12 months . My BEL 980 radar detector didn't make a peep. The cop car was pulling out of a side street to my left so I'm hoping the angle was just wrong and the detector just couldn't pickup the side-on radar.
  11. 33 and feeling every day of it
  12. I cleaned mine yesterday with CRC Brake-elene (sp?). Heaps of black crap came off. Just a GTST but she runs much better now, feels quicker.

    4th Gear

There was a similar thread a while back on SDU i think and from memory they suggested a good oil change with a stick of Nulon GE70 (i think that's what it was), drive nicely for 500kms then see if it still crunches when giving it a bit of welly. I haven't tried this so dunno if it makes a difference.

mine does the same, synchros are rooted. it's bloody embarrassing, people must think I can't drive... and they may be right
  15. I thank the Gadget God for the good old radar detector, best money I ever spent.
  16. what time were you thinking? and any map ideas?
  17. Hope this doesn't happen to you Imacul8 http://www.news.com.au/common/story_page/0...55E1702,00.html
  18. this little turd is in the paper again... http://www.thewest.com.au/20021107/news/pe...e-sto77953.html He got 7 & 1/2 years jail, good to see some justice being done.
  19. I'm 100% sure that cop cars with their radar active do set off my detector from both infront and behind.
  20. the BEL 980 detector picks up all radar and laser used currently in WA as far as I know. Cop cars behind/infront of me set it off and so do the guys on the side of the road with the laser handhelds. Best money I ever spent, haven't had a single ticket since buying the 'line (touch wood).
  21. mine cost about $800 9 months ago and has easily paid for itself twice over not to mention the saved demerits. Is it fully legal to actually use a radar detector in WA or is it only legal to own one? I heard somewhere that if you get pulled over you need to unplug it or you get fined. Is this true in WA?
  22. I must have looked like an idiot today. Standing in the carpark laughing at a Black R33 GTST at Kardinya Park shopping centre with the stupid "silver guy with sword" decal stuck on it. It really looked silly. Plates were "JENKINS" or something like that.
  23. I'm with RAC too and recently moved house, they said my new place has reduced my premium YAY! by a whopping $55 (from 2200/year to 2150/year) big hairy deal. The problem is they sent me the papers confirming the new premium and it says "1992 NISSAN SYLINE GTR COUPE 6 CYLINDER, 2500cc" but I told 'em it was a '93 GTST. Now I'm dreading calling 'em up to correct this incase they say "Oh, I'm sorry we don't insure GTSTs anymore". BASTARDS! Do you think they'll refuse a claim (god forbid I need to make one) if the policy states an R32 GTR when I actually have an R33 GTST?
  24. Which Harvey Norman sells these? I was in the one at City West today and they dont sell them.
  25. If your thinking this coming Sunday (6th October) the forecast is not good... Sunday : Showers. Strong, squally westerly. Min: 12 Max: 17
