  1. Thanks for organising the day it was good to see some 300+kw cars. Thanks to Unique for holding the day also. On a personal note I got a pb of 186rwkw so cant complain too much for a stock 25.. Nice to meet some of u aswell, it was my 1st SAU meet. Will post photobucket link when I get around to putting the vids and pics on there. Thanks Liam
  2. I have an Impul filter in a stock airbox.... only real performance difference I can notice is the sound.... Pod obviously sounds better unless u take the top off ur box lol.
  3. it usually does help.. I thought it would help me more asking owners of 33 GTR's of their findings and experiences to get a bit more specific. I know the usual things to look for for need to know certain things that are charactistic to the 33 GTR that can be signs of wear etc..
  4. I have told my mate to drive as any as he can to compare even if he has no intention of buying the specific one he is testing. He wouldn't have a bar of it. I thought it was a good idea aswell lol. Yes we r in sydney. He went and looked at a very cheap one and woldnt test drive it coz it had passenger door damage... I dont know what he is thinking.
  5. I'll post my answers and findings to ur questions and suggestions under each one to make sure nothing is missed and in bold.. Pretty informative and a pretty good idea of what to do on the next test drive. Thank you very much for your reply, it has been very helpful and has picked up on a few things I did not check or know to check. I'll be sure to read this again b4 we go for another test drive. Thanks Liam p.s any1 else who knows of other things not mentioned please let me know.
  6. Hey guys, I went to look at an R33 GTR V-Spec with a friend, he is the buyer and not a member yet, and was wondering if there is anything that is a tell tale sign of a thrashed / well used GTR. I will post up my observations on what I picked up on going over the car but this is the first 33 GTR I have looked closely at and been in so I have probably missed a few key indicators. I have searched this topic and found a page that listed a lot to look for but was a general guide for buying any car and was more of a refresher than giving me new knowledge that was GTR specific so i'm looking things that others have picked up on when looking and buying. I'll give you a run down on the car. The car is a white 96 model R33 GTR V-Spec with 41,000km on the dash. Dash is a white nismo 320km/h dash and the centre guages r white nismo guages aswell (front torque, oil, boost). Where they a factory option? I don't believe Jap odometers but if they were a factory option then all the better. The rear diff housing has the cooling fins which I have read r V-Spec specific and has the oil cooler up font top right side of the radiator in front of it. Front lower lip is after market fibreglass but the car drives straight and there is no evidence of an accident or a dodgy repair. Its fairly stock with the only mods being HKS pods, HKS super dragger cat back exhaust and under the dash is an AVC-R. The drivers seat had very little wear and the steering wheel was aftermarket so cant tell from that. The paint on the engine and plenum were pretty mint, I couldn't find a chip or srape etc. The car did run and start very nicely, revved nice and smooth but had a puff of black amoke coming on boost, I stood on the side of the road and watched him drive for a little bit, is thae puff of smoke normal normal? It was not constant, just a puff then nothing else while it revved. One thing I did notice from the passenger seat was shifting from 2nd to 3rd giving it some after the gear change there was a quite a bit of vibration which I was a bit iffy off... I don't know if GTR's do that normally trying to get traction or not or if its a problem in the diff/gearbox etc.. I couldnt hear any scraping or clunking or anything tho so I put it down at the time as the rears spinning a little bit. Sorry for making such a long 1st post but it will save a lot of questions being asked in the thread that I should have just said from the start. It does have what seems to be a dry thrust bearing which we were told would be fixed. My mate was originally told it had a twin plate clutch, when i went withh im it was just said to be heavy duty. R twin plates heavy and hard to press in? Or can they be made to be light and comfortable? lol.. Aside from that the car was very straight, drove straight, no dents that I found and couldnt see any rust around the windows, inside the doors or in the boot under the carpet. The guards had not been rolled niether and no rust there. The engine bay looked fairly clean except for some what looked like oil that had sprayed under the bonnet and on the passenger side strut tower with some dodgy incomplete cleaning... The oil filter is relocated to the opposite side of the radiator support to the oil cooler and was told that the filter wasnt screwd on properly and squirted oil... Likely story? Thanks in advance Liam
  7. Cool thanks guys really looking forward to this...
  8. I dont know if this is looked down upon but a mate of mine would like to come and put his S6 RX7 on.... I haven't been to an SAU dyno day b4 and was wondering if its just for skylines or if other ppls mates r coming and having a run in non skylines/non nissans? All good if its not allowed. Just askin
  9. If its an R33 with a stock ecu and those mods maybe 172.7rwkw?? I dont know if a stock 33 ecu lets it run over 10psi without cutting out does it? My ecu would always cut at 10psi. I have same mods + PFC for dyno and track days on 10-11psi and it should hit over 190rwkw.
  10. Hey guys, Havent been to a NSW SAU meet yet so pretty keen to make this one my first. Wasnt going to come due to some spark issues but got some new coilpacks. Last run with dodgy spark was 185rwkw so hoping to beat that by a little. See u all there. Liam
  11. I had a great day... Didnt rip off any mates... How about u. .... Someone put a condom on it for me!
  12. Right this is bullshit... Wasn't gonna say anything on R31 club BUT.... Get ur own f**kin idea man. Seriously. Stealing someone elses idea for a sale, stealing their pics, their product... Whats next... U gonna take his woman? f**kin low man! I love ur quote.... "I dont wanna cut his grass... My prices r cheaper"... I hate people like this! He wasn't even in the country when you started. After 5 successful group buys on R31 club, he goes on holiday and u jump in on the same product.... LOL... Too bad he already exhausted R31 club b4 u got to it.. Can't believe u even tried man. Pretty pathetic. For all those thinking of buying HID kits... Angry is a trusted member of both clubs... 7 or 8 group buys on 31 club, maybe 9 and not a single thing gone wrong with money OR product quality or anything for that matter. There is about 70 or 80 ppl who will back that up. Find something else to sell man! EAT A BAG!!! Good luck
  13. Mate i seen ur car at a workshop in western sydney, front drivers guard is str8 and rubbed back, same colour just rubbed back. runs and sounds nice.. very quite!!! front bar and cooler r all ok so is the rest of the body. I was admiring it for a while, 1st thing i noticed... shit those a works vsxx rims.. same as my HR31 ... is looking good, sounding good and 275 tyres on the rear looks farkin tough! mine got 255's and pushing the rear guards so dont wanna go bigger... It seems to be ok anyway, if i go back soon i'll take some photo s for ya!
  14. Be careful with cheap short shifters.... I had one and in 1st, 3rd and 5th it made a grinding noise.... Not bad crunching, just constant.. 2nd, 4th and reverse had no issues.. The old saying... If you want to modify a car and have it be reliable, don't skimp on the cost and buy good brands that are proven 99% of the time. Something that's a 50/50 chance of being shit isn't good enough. Liam
  15. Could very well be an adjustable actuator.... I got one of those with my 24 turbo.. sold it to a mate... shoulda kept the thing in hindsight... Liam
  16. I dont know if u've found ur problem yet or not but it could possibly be either a gasket leak between the manifold and turbo or u may possibly have snapped 1 or more of the 4 studs that hold the turbo onto the manifold... I had my RB20 doing the same and a mate found out that one of the studs was missing and a tiny bit of gas was leaking from there making a little high pitched whizzing noise.. Just to note i ran an RB20 turbo actuator (10psi) all day on my 33 turbo and with the 3 inch exhaust gained 1 or 2 psi on top of that depending on the conditions. I always thought the turbo was stuffed but it was just a tiny leak. Liam
  17. Hey mate i'll pm u my number, im interested in the stock R33 shifter! Thanks Liam
  18. DAMN... move it forward lol. i'm goin back to Melb on feb 20th, would have been good to see what the car gets.... Liam
  19. Got a price for me? Every1 else is charging way too much.. Liam
  20. Thanx for the replys and PM's however the prices have been way over what I know I can get them for. I wanted these a.s.a.p but it looks like i'll just have to wait due to the fact that people r charging rediculous amounts for them. Liam
  21. Need these in the next few weeks. Please if u r selling some let me know. Liam
  22. Is it just me or is any1 missing the point its an ECU CHIP not an aftermarket ECU... I would still like to know if its a generic RB25 chip or if it has been tuned specifially for this car with those specific mods. I sold a SAFC that had a tune for the mods I had at the time. No good for the next guy if he has more boost and/or bigger turbo and better injectors etc. Just a thought. Could explain it running so rich. Liam
  23. Bet it still has only 3 of 4 tail lights tho at best! That's bloody rediculous... If some bogan is willing to pay over 5 grand for a VL he deserves for the value to go down. GTS-R (NISSAN) will slowly go up. As much as a 32 GTR now a days... Give it 10 or 15 and they should be fetching over 35ish. Starts to climb pretty quick once they gain more and more Jap nostalgia. AE86 Sprinters in stock form r collecting as much as 12-13k aswell. Just gotta put ur GTSR in a bubble and have it detailed. Liam
  24. Is the chip modded/tuned for ur specific car and mods? Or just a universal thing? If its a universal thing the results wont be much good. U need a tune thats specific to ur mods. I have a 34 turbo on a S2 25, 2 inch exhaust, FMIC and stock airbox running about 10 psi and it makes about that. Ditch the chip and get a remap. Liam
