  2. He does have a website.. Can't remember it but google Dr Drift. If ur thinking of boosting the crap out of a 21 yr old turbo have a spare one on ur workbench, dont wait til it goes. Also if u want best results from more boost u will need an aftermarket fuel pump, the mixtures will lean out (even tho the stock air/fuel mix is so rich on the redtop RB20DET). The stock fuel pumps simply cannot hold pressure when u add boost. A bosch 040 can be had for cheap. I got mine brand new for $175 and $50 installed. Cheap as and a good safe upgrade. Get a full exhaust system. Pointless adding boost then strangling the turbo right at the wheel. The basics of a remap to gains r... U can change ur timing and lean out the mixture. There is no need to touch ur cold start or anything as it would be running factory so no need for an aftermarket ecu. Basically they have the map from factory on there and just plug in their laptop and tune it. It saves to the ecu obviously and thats how u run ur car.. U will notice an increase in fuel economy.. IF ur planning to change any mods soon then do not get a remap yet as u will have to remap it again to suit ur changes. Get everything on the car, like full turbo back exhaust, FMIC, pod, bigger turbo, fuel pump, just run a safe 10-12psi and then get it remapped. U could see anything up to 170-180rwkw with the right mods without touching injectors and afm as they will be sufficient for that power level. If u get EPA'd at all u can always run a stock airbox and/or stock cooler and there shouldnt be too many issues with ur remap and it could keep more people happy if they look at ur engine. I was caught over Easter with a SAFC, pod and intercooler and haven't put anything back on, just kept the FMIC, stock airbox and no SAFC... i'm probably back under 130rwkw again which sucks but its good enough considering I just go to ork and back and 31 club meets. u will get better response slightly and a much smoother power curve, aswell as more power from the remap.   4. Its deffinately worth the upgrade. As stated the gains r there on 10psi, use the actuator from ur stock turbo and the 25 turbo otherwise u'll run about 6psi. I have the older RB20DET ECCS in an HR31 and with pod, 3 inch exhaust and 33 turbo I was making 130rwkw also, with the SAFC tuned and a Bosch 040 pump to be safe it went up to 152rwkw. Save ur cash and get ur RB20 ecu remapped. Liam

  6. DR DRIFT remaps them for u. Does a really good job aswell i hear, I was going to get my ECCS done there but my plans changed. Gains dont seem to be as good with the NICS when u add exhaust, pod, r33 turbo etc when everything else is stock, e.g intake, ecu etc but then again the NICS has an ever so slightly lower max power than the ECCS from factory.   7. If they just tested ur fuel pump by adding power and not running in a motor it doesnt mean too much.. Could have been leaning out under boost and running to lean for a while. GTS4WD U could get another with some mods, to catch up to a 25 and then some. Or u could just get the 25 and the base right there for some really good potential. All comes down to how much cash u wanna spend. Spend ur cash now on a 25 and get better results later with mods or spend the same amount on a 20 with mods and have more power than a stock 25 with lower gains for all the mods u do in the future. I reckon it would be ok, most importantly for looks would be placement lol... i cant imagine placing it anywhere that would look really good! Photoshop it on 1st 2 c if its worth it lol.   9. I was always under the impression you can only drive an unregistered car to either a mechanic, testing station, or RTA to get things fixed or registered... U can always send in a letter like I did, however I was unsuccessful in my particular case and had to pay the fine, to the civic compliance (called that in VIC unsure if its the same everywhere else), explain ur situation and if they feel u were doing wat u were doing then they wave the fine.. costs u nothing.   10. Simple but have u checked all the screws? Maybe the wind from driving is pushing them back in slightly.. Unsure if they have any type of sensor to make it stop pushing out but if a mirror is loose maybe it is moving enough for it to keep trying? my Mirrors on my 31 r a bit loose but no problems so far, touch wood apart from the knob black Silvia driver on St Greoges Road who decided to try and rip it off.   11. I have a redtop ECCS in my coupe not a silvertop and its redtop cams in general.. There was a discussion about this and I thik it was the lift on the redtop cam is the most aggressive out of all twin cam RB's. Think it as the duration thats same as silvertop. Doesnt look like many 31 members even know who I am lol. Liam
  12. I think anything remapped is better than a SAFC... Thats y u get better gains from a remap than a SAFC tune coz u cant really change too much on the SAFC just ur air fuel mixtures. Liam
  13. What sort of condition is the VG30 turbo in? I have an R33 turbo and was looking to upgrade to something larger. I'll look into it for my own benefit tho and what state r u in? im in VIC. Liam
  14. Lol U on www.R31skylineclub ? There seems to be a general concensus that the NICS is shithouse. Wiring and intake issues. But if it isnt broken mate! Heavy duy organic should be sweet. Mate had one his 32 GTST for about 4 years and he had it the drags a couple of times and drifted into parties a fair bit and sold the car with the clutch still in pretty good condition. Silvertop is a good option for an upgrade if u like the RB20DET but i personally cant stand having to rev the crap out of an engine to 6800 rpm to get peak power lol. ECCS+R33turbo+SAFC made the peak level pretty high in the revs lol. Hate to have a bigger turbo on one. Liam
  15. Mate I wish i had heavy duty organic lol. I got the Exedy heavy duty cushioned button and its ok for the driver.. passengers dont like the jerk. It can be driven a little like a stock clutch but wears out too quickly. I rev it to about 1500rpm or a bit more and give it a gentle dump so it doesnt stall lol. Xtreme I think make a heavy duty and organic cushioned button. U have a NICS so i guess ur not making that much power.. Organic heavy duty will be sweet from Exedy for what u need. I should have bought one as I dont drag or drift i just drive normally. If drift and drag launches r ur style go for a better rating clutch like the cushioned button or brass button. The clutch pedal on mine is VERY light under ur foot but its not wearing or anything, works fine for its purpose. Liam
  16. Take the black one... All upgrades seem to have been done that u need, kits can be changed but the Nismo one is very nice. I'd hate to own a "look a like" car.. Like a 33 GTST with GTR kit, or evo kitted lancer etc lol. Black FTW! Liam

  18. Same part numbers mate right up to 25's I believe.... I looked in the excedy catalogue when i was buying a clutch my HR31 coupe with the ECCS redtop and it only listed R31 RB20DET... Not specific to ECCS or NICS and have later been told that 32 and 33 clutches r the same part number. Liam
  19. I'd personally take a 1JZ over a 26 if u wanted to modify it. I explored the avenues os 1JZ, 2JZ or RB25DET for my GTS-X. A manual 1JZ halfcut can be had for cheap but then the fabricating to fit it is about 4 times the cost of the 25 for me. Everything on the 1JZ is backwards compared to the 26 as u probably know. For me to buy a good 25DET and gearbox and everything needed to put it in was 3500..... roughly 1500-2000 so max 5500 to have it installed, wired and finished with new seals and timing belt, water pump etc. 1JZ was about 2500 for everything needed including the halfcut to sell what i didnt need to do the swap but in the end I was looking at 8000 minimum coz I'd need a modded exhaust, completely custom engine and gearbox mounts and crossmember etc, completely custom wire the loom, plenum is over the other side etc etc. If u have the cash and if I had the cash I would have gone 2JZ but the 25 for me was more affordable. I guess ur going to need custom gearbox and engine mounts for either engine so look into it. If your going to mod it a 1JZ or 2JZ would be best if you dont want to touch the inside. Liam

  22. deff change the timing belt and if u want go as far as changing all the oil seals aswell do it.. if it drives fine, just keep driving it... if anything blows either rebuild or upgrade but until then save and save and save for when it finally happens. Liam
  23. repeat offenders can have their cars impounded for 48 hours and court appearence... there r different charges like hooning speeding and drink driving... Once ur car has been impounded and u been to court if u get caught again it goes up and up nd until poooooof.... ur car is litterally taken off u and sold at police auction once all cases regarding that car r closed... Was reading it in the local paper and it was something like 173 cars in 12 months had been impounded for whatever periods of time just in my local area! Liam
