Just a quick pic of my HR31 GTSX

I have read that there r many different versions of the VG turbo's... Yes the VG30DET single turbo 3L V6 is bigger again than the R33 RB25DET turbo charger but its so old.. Unless u buy a blown one of those and rebuild that, but at the same time u could just hi flow that also. I have a couple of mates who have run a VG30DET turbo on an RB20DET and loved it and it would less laggy on a 25 than the 20. Again if u took that option u r buying another second hand turbo with an unknown use by date so to speak. Liam

Nah mate i'm in Melbourne now.. I used to live in Sydney, grew up there but moved to Melb.. I would be interested but wouldnt be worth the effort of going interstate when i have an MTQ 10 mins from work. Could be the flagships in each state tho for this forum...... maybe.......... Liam

MTQ r all over the country... Used to be Dynamic turbo's.... Can't remember what suburb they used to be in in Sydney now, probabaly SW suburbs as I used to drive past them on the way to Villawood. I am going to call MTQ on monday and get some prices on hi flowing a 33 turbo. I also want more power than stock on about 10psi plus maintain the heatshield and current exhaust and cooler piping etc. Hi Flows back in the day used to be pretty unreliable IIRC but now a days its as good as a rebuild plus u get that extra . I gotta say, I have youtubed a lot of dyno runs and that one is by far the most impressive sounding I have ever seen lol... The figure isnt the biggest I have seen but omg I wanna watch it again. Congrats. Can't wait to see what it makes when its completely run in lol. Liam

I have heard that MTQ (in Melb anyway) does fantastic hi flows but cost up to 1400 if u supple the turbo. Liam

Maybe I missed something... Whats the point in having a 3L bottom end so RB30DET and a 2.8 stroker kit? What does it have, RB30DET or RB25DET with 2.8 stroker? Either way i'd have the supra, not as common in twin turbo as the 34's r becoming. If I could have afforded the actual labour I would have bought a 1/2JZ for my car rather than a 25 but with Nissan being so damn compatible right throughout the years the RB25 was the "cheaper option". Supras in my opinion r a nicer looking car, easier to get to ur power goal safer and something ppl would probably enjoy more i think. As much as i like the skylines they r the s**t of the import world followed closely by other Nissan models lol. Liam

No I havent checked yet as the car is a daily. Looks like it might have to wait until the car goes into the shop to get the work done when both boxes r out and next to each other. Liam

I dont know what ratio the diffs r in stock HR31's. My speedo is already out, as my speedo reads 110km/h its actually doing approx 95km/h so maybe an owner in Japan has changed the diff already. If it is now reading more than my actual speed this modification sounds like it will make it more accurate. At 60km/h on the speedo I am doing closer to 50km/h etc. Thanks for the info, sounds like the way to go and would make my current speedo a little more accurate than it already is. Good info. If that is ur budget get a SAFC II, cost about 250 second hand, if u can get it cheaper then all the better. I payed $150 for the tune. Don't know what rwkw the mods u have make in ur car now but they r the same mod I had and I got 20rwkw from a SAFC II tune. If ur pushing 160-170 already then u should get close to 200rwkw but dont be dissapointed if u dont get it lol. I was told to expect 160 rwkw and only got 150, i was dissapointed. Liam

Looks good, I like it.. Always liked the now older style F6. The enw tornado would be awesome.. factory 300KW ute with turbo goodness! Someone mentioend power to wieght, that GTP would have a hell of a lot of torque on it. never driven an aussie muscle car but u'd expect if they r selling them overseas, america and the UK, where 'real' muscle cars r really built then they must be pretty decent. Actuall sucks to hear about the commodore GTS-R.. Taken a great name code from the HR31 and made it into a f**kin banana! Would be interesting to see the new one tho and read about it. U know its going to be a good car. maybe the current F6's will come down in price from over 50k second hand. Liam

With an Rb20 on a quick tune using a SAFC I gained 20rwkw without touching anything else like boost. I had mods but the tune alone got me 20rwkw... Good gain for half an hours tuning! Liam

Yeah I was just wondering if it all came together somewhere. So there isnt a cheaper option than those adapters? Any1 here used them that can comment? Liam

There a cheaper option? Will that callibrate rpm and speed to be accurate? What makes rpm become innacurate? Speed sender? I had an Apexi SAFCII and the digital rpm readout was lower than the tacho was saying. Liam

Well guys I have an HR31 GTSX and there is an RB25DET manual gearbox going in it. The 25 box has an electrical Speed sender and the R31 a cable sender. I am hearing a few things work like a Nissan navara sender but have been told they can be inaccurate. Been told my most accurate option is an R32 GTR sender. Any1 have any more info on this topic, how its done and what else is needed? Thanx Liam

They were shit all tournament! They didnt attack the ball on defence like they usually play, they didnt play the simple short ball and 1st time passes and allowed defence to close them in. They didnt switch play enough, I remember 2 all tournament and it was kewell both times. When he switched it Emerton had about 20m around him of room. Arnolds tactics were pathetic. It was even said when Guus Hijdink was manager Arnold would still want to do things his own way. New, european manager would suit the Socceroos fantastically! My 2c lol. Liam

I hear there isnt much difference between RB25 and RB26 rods anyways... Shot peen ur 25 rods, balance the crank that shold be that part sorted. Forged pistons for an RB25 and it should be fine. If ppl can be making 230-240rwkw on stock internals (new here so dont if the figures r higher) then a bit of strengthening and balancing wont hurt. Liam

4AGZE datto or corolla FTW! Loved the 4AGZE I had, genie extractors, 2.5 inch exhuast and a pod filter and it was beating VR/VS SS manual commodores in an AE82 heavy as SECA! Awesome little build that would be and the engine is so powerful and responsive, way more impressive than my RB20 lol. Liam

Mate go to www.r31skylineclub.com... Anything from a smaller capacity engine is going to be shit on an RB30.... Get urself a standard VL Turbo setup including turbo, manifold, intake pipe, injectors and ecu is the way to go. I believe there r a few for sale on atm just go through afew pages. if your not in any rush u can buy them seperately and add it all at the same time. Even the stock VLT turbo spools up early on an Rb30 so a silvia or smaller RB turbo is going to be almost on boost as soon as u take off. Also will run out of power up top and be useless. Liam

Weetbix box gasket? WTF? If u knew it had coolant coming from the exhaust Y would u buy it or was that a later discovery? Just put a 20 back in it, cheap enough to do and saves a lot of costs pulling 2 halves of 2 different engines apart and sorting out whats still decent and what has been damaged and replacing it. Alternatively there is a 25 already mounted in it so thats another option. 20 would be cheapest for u to sell the car quickly. Liam

Awesome looking setup, all brand new, saw this setup on his car and looks unreal! Turbo and plenum is covered so dont worry about dust and it has never seen the engine tick over. If I didnt spend the money on an RB25.... Can't justify 7 grand to the misus . Good luck Wheez Hound! Well im sure if ur doing a remap get ur hands on an ECCS ecu? I know of ppl remapping R32 RB20 ECU's to run modded RB25's... I thought the RB20 software was all remappable, over here. Maybe just redtop ECCS and silvertop... Have a google and call them up. Liam
