ok here is the reason for the GTR badge... when i brought it, it had a Apexi badge on it. when i removed it, it showed an imprint of where a GTR badge used to be in the clear coat and it looked real shitty, so basically i put it there to cover up the dirty mark and the tiny spots of missing paint. its only there until i get the boot sprayed and the holes boged up. It used to have a GTR wing on it so i spose it must be a boot as well. i can understand your comments but id rather look at the badge than a a shitty imprint.

yeh they do, set to vent at 10psi but they dont make a sound at all. you would need a hearing aid to hear the hiss.. but i dont have one anymore i removed it and blocked up the downpipe SC so i could run more boost. -

dose does sound better but whats better for your turbo however if you have a factory bov, it gosh pshh, why else would you want to change it. i much prefure the sound of a screamer, shame its illegal but as most of you have pointed out unless the cop knows what he is doing and looks under the car there not going to know, most of the time i think they just look for shiny shit and say THATS DEFECTABLE. i remember when a cop said i had a bov on my 4agze (this is a supercharged motor with a Throttle body before teh SC) and he pointed to the fuel regulator, i was like are u f**kn serious, not to mention my dad being asked if he had a V6 in his BA GT lol -
its on my R32 GTST - RB20. why the psi differences? is that due to the fact a RB25 puts out alot more exhaust heat than the RB20?

cool thanks for the confirmation guys, so they use exactly the same flange as a rb20 i take it. so is 14.5 asking to much?

4513 pretty sure. the 4, 5 and 3 is a definate confirmation but the 1 sort of looks like a V not sure, thats teh best angle i can get. really looks like a V but not sure.. so i guess if it was that makes it a 45V3 which yeh is off a rb25, but there is a 45V1, 45V2 as well isnt there? whats the dif between them

no way can i see anything there is just too much shit in teh way and doesnt look very easy to pull it all off. il go have a look at that exhaust number but in the mean time the actuator has a stamp on it that says 242x02 in black writing and its stamped ASN79 or somthn

all i can see is the word Nissan on the side of the housing. its on a RB20 and not sure if its a RB25 turbo.

this is an awsome build, i wouldnt worry to much about the fact your insured for 30K, your not alone my dad has a mint XA GT falcon in the shed which was restored also and they bought the best of every motor part off the shelf from teh US and shannons wont alow any more than 40K its wortha fk load more than that. Prob why they only drive it once a year, spose that would be your plan too after all this effort hey? will be great when you get all your motor bits back.. its an awsome feeling putting together a new motor its all so shiny and pretty and you can put to rest you have done everything correctly with no shortcuts as what you would worry about if someone else assembled it.. are you going to de-dag the block as well, unless the blocks are mint from factory. -
have a look at what just jap charge for a genuine GTR badge... $95!!! just as well u dont have a GTR as on the rear wings the end badges are $250 bucks a side!

what about the turbosmart boost controller, its on top of the head against the firewall. Is that a long way away?

I thought the limit for the 33 turbo was 14.5 pounds?? any idea what a set of coils will be? i have a feeling im not going to get much change out of 2K for a set of brand new ones

thats why i thort i may have a shitty tune :S i used BP ultimate too. im not overly sure but with me on my own it isnt even as fast, with both of us in his car which is an extra 80kgs his is still faster. both of them are kept pretty well factory sort of weight. (he doesnt have weight reduction or anything like that)

Heya guys, I picked up my new pride and joy on saturday and im loving it so far, alltho my mate took me for another run in his HR31 with RB20 red top and it is a SHIT LOAD quicker than mine and i cant work out why. here are my specs RB20 silvertop ECCS Rb25 T3 turbo on 14psi HKS cooler (600x300 ish with was looks to be 2.5" piping. 2.5" downpipe off turbo into a 3" system with two mid mufflers and a rear muffler (5zigen system) (no cat) standard wastegate and factory bov turbosmart controller (it is mounted on teh firewall, should it be that far away from teh turbo and the actuator?) SAFC2 (not sure on how it has been tuned, wether on dyno or in driveway by previous owned) normal GTST box and LSD diff with coilies and a massive pressure clutch, really bites my mates mods HR31 redtop RB20 Rb25 T3 turbo on 1 bar 600x300 cooler (unsure of brand) 3" system straight to a rear muffler with Apexi exhaust valve HKS BOV and some electronic valve control thingo bee*r apexi Neo AFC (tuned for about 250hp aparently) 5 speed manual and lsd we are both running exactly the same width tyres. (its [THN] s old car (tuyen) basically his scares the shite out of me, really gets up and boogies and it just pulls harder every gear however mine feels like it has 40hp less or more and splutters around 5K and is i feel it is slower than my 4agze running 13psi. seeing we both run very similar gear i would expect mine should be a bit faster due to it being a Silvertop, but nooo could i have a shitty tune on the afc? i just dont get it i want mine to be as fast.

good letter man but i think the only thing that is going to change peoples attitudes is "baby was saved by a speeding comodore to its rescue" is it just me or do all these stories not have a resolution to the problem, wait til these drivers turn 30 and we have the hole road full of hoons.

i think he ment he did 290 in another car.. be keen to know what it was with 320 on the clock.. M series beema? prob a customers car too 140kms hr aint even fast, u can eat ur lunch doin that speed.
