Yeah open road limit is now 130kph...So slow and boring it sends you to sleep....I'd suggest go via Adelaide. (just personal opinion) I have done the drive from Alice over to Brissy down to Sydney. Also done Alice, Adel, Melb, Tas & back. SA police the roads more than NT, so once your in NT you should be right, just slow down either side of a township. Roads through QLD are policed the most. The drive through QLD might be a bit more to look at but after 3000ks its all the same anyway. Roads up from SA are definately better than the ones out to Isa, Wider, flater, straighter, smoother and 20km/h faster.(i think) Watch out for Roo's, Cow's, Horses, Camels, etc. it's surprising what shows up unexpected...Even Eagles flying around will attack your car if it thinks you want its roadkill.. Weather is great at the moment, be careful on wet roads in the NT, they are made for dry hot weather and get VERY slippery when wet. Sunrise and sunset is the most dangerous. Sun glare can be very bad and this is when the animals come out to eat and drink at the roadside, so use extra caution. Good move with the extra fuel, you will need it. Be sure to check your maps NOW and plan fuel stops. Not all servo's in rural areas stock 98 ron fuel, so either phone ahead and find out or be prepared to use 95ron, maybe take some octane booster with you. or if you have enough jerry's.! with dedication you should be able to do 1000k's per day with out too much trouble. BUT MAKE SURE TO TAKE REST BREAKS REGULARLY! If you want to stop by Ayers Rock on the way from Adelaide its about an extra 520k's on your trip. Hope this help a bit, if you want anymore info PM me. Not likely to be the red one, don't think Brett is that silly, and he's over 21.. The cop car was inbound, the Supra heading out of town and stopped at Battarbee st. The cops must have flashed him near diarama and he slowed down and stopped straight away, that might go in his favour at court. At that speed he could have lost them, but they would just be waiting at home and he be in more sh^t. I also heard a bit of a police chase last night, well sounded like it briefly anyway. Was at the carwash around 8 or 9 and could hear someone giving stick around town, (saw a little white thing go past, "no names") then heard sirens start up and had a chuckle, then a second set of sirens and all 3 disappeared into the distance.. And on another note,,, I was accused (not to my face though) of doing burnouts everywhere just because theres a purple spotrs car in my driveway and a burnout in front of my house... (my friend really put it up this bloke on my behalf though, he didn't know they actually new me, haha). Shits me cos there's burnouts all the way up the street and around the corner, but I own a sportscar so it must be me? right? F&kken Dumbasses.... Ryan, If you are gunna leave it rego'd interstate change it to your name while your down there, it will be a pain in the ass to do from here. Still get that letter unless he is going to the MVR with you transfer ownrship. It just really helps. Whatever u do , DO NOT leave it in the previous owners name longer than you have to. I'd say when you pick it up change rego into your name in NSW & ask them about what to do to get the refunded portion when you change over to NT. I'm pretty sure NT rego is cheaper than NSW, so hopefully the 8-10 months refund should pay for 12mthns NT rego.... and as said you have 3 months to change it over to NT by law.

yeah it will have to go over the pits, any change from another state has to. Get a letter from the previous owner stating their full name and address with rego, vin number, and sale price. Saying they are selling the car to you, oh and you full details also. and signed with their printed name. example: I Fred Smith of 69 Menow Road, NT, 0869, on 23/09/08, owner of Nissan Silvia S13 Rego 123-456, Vin # ?????????????? agree to sell this vehicle to Joe Bloggs of you get the point. Signed Fred Smith {insert squigly signature} Make sure they have signed all their relevant paperwork. You'll need at least a few hundred bucks.

apparently you get more airflow than you think coming around your headlight as it is not sealed..... still, a larger feed would probably be heaps better.
