  1. Hmmm, I understand why most of us agree that a turbo/hi-po vehicle is not a good first drivers car. What I dont understand is the obvious hostility that TEAMSHADOW is receiving from certain members from this forum. Granted people like Mines Datsun may have left bad memories when it came to skylines and p/platers but I certainly dont know TEAMSHADOW well enough to say that he is anything like him. And who cares if his father is buying him the car for him, its his father's money, he can do with it what he wants. I know if i was rich and I was going to purchase my son a car i wouldnt buy him a shitbox. Why should I, when i can afford to buy him a good car. TEAMSHADOW, skylines are nice cars but the turbo charged ones might be a little too much to start off with. If your really wanted a r34 then maybe get the GT (non turbo) or get yourself a nice BMX or Lexus. And if your father is buying it for you then just understand that you are fortunate, more fortunate than some of us.
  2. Hey try calling Powerplay for the window, they were able to get me side windows every time my car was broken into.
  3. Ill give u 280 if it still has the box and if it is perfect condition.
  4. Hmm Powerplay have a pretty good GTT - GTR conversion bodykit. Aparently it involves a new front bar and a new bonnet. Makes the GTT look just like a GTR, without the flared guards though.
  5. No mines the Black R34. You might not have seen it. Yeah I was told your brakes were squealing.
  6. Spotted Abo Bob, yesterday at Powerplay when my car was in for service. Nice car
  7. I took mine off a while back off Shonen and i have the Full Cwest kit as well and its black. So your car would look similiar 2 mine. I think it looks much better without it. All other 34s ive seen have those aluminium GT wings which i sort of dont like. I think it gives the car a much more refined and sleeker look.
  8. Last Night Wed (23rd) on Victoria Rd from West Ryde to Roselle. Spotted 3 R34s (2 black and 1 blue i think) all next to each other, they were obviously friends, all were done up quick nicely. Came up to them in my 34 and we pretty much cruised together from ryde to roselle, giving a few small bursts now and then, nothing silly. Was quite a pleasant trip to an otherwise pretty dull everyday commute. So hey guys i was in the black spoilerless, cwest/kit 34 .
  9. hehe honestly.... i dont seem to get challenged that often. Depends on the situation, late at night, very little traffic maybe ill have a go, but i wont if not under those circumstances. If the car that wants to race is not a quick car then i never bother (e.g 1.6l Lancer with exhaust). If its a car that is worth racing or a car im quite sure ill lose too then ill have a go. Its always good to see where your car stands. And sometimes im quite surprised on how 34GTs go. I hardly ever drag off a light because with our NA cars u really need to get a good launch, this means a 4 - 5rpm launch. Its usually very loud, has some wheelspin and will freak out other cars around u. In other words u look like a racer tool and it doesnt help the image of imports much. No other cars around then, ill have a go. I usually prefer a 40km roll from 2nd gear. Less noisy, less effort and it doesnt seem to attract as much attention. Also it REALLY depends on the guy im up against. If the guy acts like he will do anything to win etc. cut off OTHER people, weave uncontrolably in out of traffic, tailgate people to get them to swith lanes etc. then NO way will i have a go. a person who drives recklessly will drive even more recklessly when they think they are racing as well. so to answer your question, i hardly ever drag another car. Only on those rare moments when u have a clear highway and u are up against a good car with a mature friendly driver who wont do anything stupid just to win a race. Those moments are very rare but when u get them u dont forgot it and whether u win or lose they remain fondly as 'good race'.
  10. Yeah it is a little high but, when i had my old last car stolen, my NCB went from 60 to 20 straight away. Also apparently a coupe has a higher premium than a sedan dont ..... dont know y though but thats what the guy at Just Cars told me.
  11. Just Cars, 40% NCB, over 25, $2100 agreed value of 30g. BTW ive done a 14.9sec 1/4mile pass hehe see told u not that much slower than my R33 S2 which did a 14.4 sec pass.
  12. Hey Munky - Ive got a 34GT. I used to own a stock S2 R33GTST. Mate obviously the R33 was faster because it was turbo but with all due respect my GT is not that much slower. I dont know if its just the newer NEO engine or just the fact that the GT is lighter, but with a full exhaust, pod, extractors, SAFC and lightweight wheels a R34 GT is quite a quick car. When my old S2 got stolen, my increase in insurance made it more sensible for me to get a non turbo car, hence the R34GT. Dont go overboard with the performance side of things because honestly unless u dont care about resale value a turbocharged GT will commandeer less than a GTT. You're 19 enjoy the line and do a few mods and just learn to love the car. Im pretty sure i saw your car once when i drove past the dealer u bought it from, looked really nice and clean in white.
  13. I had pretty much the same thing happen to my 34 about a year ago. It would misfire for about 5 - 10 mins in the morning then would go away. This happened for about 1 month, then finally the ecu warning light came on. It was a faulty coil pack. They are about 300 new or u could get second hand ones for about 150, just so u know the r34 coil packs are the same as a s2 r33 coil packs. If u know how to test them do it yourself. Sorry just realised u are not in Aust so dont know prices where u are.
  14. I took the spoiler off the back of my 34. Just about everyone i know except for some pimply tennagers agrees that it look much better. I have a full Cwest kit though, so i guess the larger front bar and deeper skirts and rear bar give the car a much more aggressive stance.
  15. Hmm ... i wrote a reply but it didnt get posted. Just thought u guys should know that Xenons are 2600 each new, i just bought a front left side, second hand 1 for 1400. So Rigo if u dont have any success im sure the wreckers would buy your pair for 1500 quite easily. Last time i checked a stock complete headlight assembly from Nissan is 900 each.
  16. U guys realise that a xenon headlight assembly cost 2600 each from Nissan. I know cause i just bought one 2 weeks ago for 1400 at a wrecker. Thats 1400 each, second hand. Hey Rigo if u cant sell it here call some of the Sydney wreckers. I bet u could sell it easy for 1500 a pair. Try powerplay in Sydney they were selling them for 1500 each.
  17. Yeah i get my 34 serviced there and i really like their customer service. And Alistair is a really fussy guy, to the point of being a little eccentric about it.
  18. Yeah get Alistair to look at it. Call them 1st and ask Joanne how much it is for a check up. They only deal with Skylines so they know usually what to look out for.
  19. Powerplay are known to be more expensive but thats because they truly choose the best cars. Funnily enough, I remember speaking to 2 other dealers that told me to buy from Joane from Powerplay simply because she choose the top cars, no accident, grade 5 cars. In the end i didnt buy from her but the dealer i did buy from still ended up screwing me for about 2 grand anyhow. Since then my car has always been serviced and taken care of by powerplay ive only ever had 1 issue with them, but for the most part they have been good. Also u know u can ask Joanne to import a car in for u she will just charge her finders fee, i think.
  20. sock - that car has the rb20. Its only the 2 litre without Neo. The GT with the Neo RB25 (147kw) commands a much better price. That car is the absolute base model. It is very nice though.
  21. do u have a model number for the deck ? Also does the screen have colour writing or is it black only.
  22. SS8-Gohan - Regarding GTR kits for a GTT. Was just at powerplay yesterday to get my car serviced and was told that the East Bear GTS-R kit, which is a plastic (better than fiberglass) GTR copy is now available. Unfortunately i already have a full CWest kit but if you interested the price for the GTS-R kit is about 3800 just for parts i think. This im pretty sure includes front rear bar and skirts. ALSO included is a carbon fibre style (dont actually think its real CF). U need to have the bonnet since the GTR kits extends out longer. I saw it whilst i was there and it looks very good. The kit itself will fit all GT models including I think the 4 door (saw a picture of the kit on a 4 door car whilst i was there). Just wish i hadnt paid 6 grand for a full cwest kit, would of got this 1 instead. If u are interested call Joanne at powerplay.
