  1. I know its an extremely long shot but what the hell. Cracked 1 of my rims and dont think it can be fixed Need a 17*7 Grams Light Ray 57C Engineering wheel in silver. Will take 2 rims if needed.
  2. It sounds like you might have a problem with the fuel filler neck which is supposed to be replaced when you complaince the car. Look at this thread 3rd post. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=94640
  3. I had a couple of scratches on my front bar about 6 months ago that I wanted to get fixed up. Used a guy called David 0411 986 259 from "Chips Away". He does dents as well apparently.
  4. Wow thats no good..... PM me which mechanic u are using if you dont mind. How long has this been going on for ? You have been servicing regularly right ?
  5. Mate its the coil packs I BET. It happened to me on Monday and sure enough it was and I ended u taking care of it. Its happened 2 times b4 as well b4 this. Dont get your mechanic to charge a heap of money trying to solve it, just tell him to check you coils. BTW Tim says hi.
  6. Guys Ive had my R34 for about 3 years now. Anytime I have issues with misfiring etc I look at the coil packs. It never happens when its cold only after 10 mins or so and the check engine light comes on. I now just check the coil packs, have had to replace 3 in the last 3 years. Either Araldite them or just buy 2nd hand ones. It seems to be a reasonably commom issue, for me anyhow.
  7. I have an original R34 CWest kit. After a couple of years I wanted to get the front bar repainted, so I bought a Cwest copy off carmate to put in place whilst I got the old original one redone. All I can say is that the one off carmate, is not half as good as the original. It did not align perfectly and the finish was not the greatest. Not saying its not worth the 450 that I paid though, in fact most people could not, would not tell the difference. Its just not as good as an original is all I am trying to say.
  8. Yeah my 34 did that about 2.5 years ago. Only when the rev's were dropping. The check engine light would come on and then go away and the car felt fine. It would happen most often when the car was cold. I didnt bother with it for about a month or so. Then I could hear it misfire etc. Got a nissan dealer in the upper north shore to look at it, through the Nissan Consult program. Cost me $600 and 3 days for them to figure out and replace a faulty coilpack. Moral of the story: Try to figure it out yourself before taking it to someone, it could be something really simple. R34 coil packs are the same S2-R33 you can get them for less than 150 second hand. I wish I had just bought one 2nd hand and done it myself and saved myself all the hassle. Since then I have had the engine light come on again. Went home logged onto SAU, got a 2nd hand coil pack for $80, replaced it myself, light has not been on for 1 year.
  9. Happens to me twice a week. I just change to the right hand lane now, without thinking about it.
  10. Ecl - saw your car just under that little bridge on Tues. Was going to park right in front of you but I figured that 2 R34 parked together would attract to much attention. Hehe.

  15. Hey mate, Hows things ? Tim says Hi. As you know I had a series 2 R33 about 3 years ago, before my 34GT. On average I spent about $90 a week on petrol on the R33 and about $70 on the R34. Mind you petrol is more expensice these days. On the R33 a service had to be done every $5000, on the R34 every $10000. On the R33 tyres were replaced every 1.5 years on the R34 so far 2.25 years. Insurance was $3300 on the R33, $2000 on the R34. But I was younger then so you have to take that into account. On the R33, I had my clutch replaced after about 3years, the R34 not as yet. I really liked my old R33, ive always said it was faster than the R34, but the R34 isnt that far behind. The R33 being a turbo obviously had a meatier and stronger mid range but funnily the R34 SEEMS as good if not a little better on the higher revs than the R33. The R34 is a smoother car, it feels more refined and a little safer than my R33. The handling of the R34 is stiffer and I feel I have a little more control especially on tighter corners, the back end doesnt seem to be as loose as the R33. All in all, I enjoyed my R33 when I had it. But as you know I'm not as young as you are and I guess I dont feel the need for speed much anymore. I think you did the right thing by getting the R34. Its not a bad car to start learning how to drive a RWD manual car. Its fast enough to teach you where your limits should be but also safe enough that you wont get into too much trouble if u attempt to corner with a little too much speed. Also the sudden type power delivery of a turbo car can be a little dangerous for inexperienced drivers. A NA car with its linear power delivery is a safer option. There has been plenty a time when I have accelarated out of a corner in my old R33 and the sudden power of the turbo almost made me loose the back end. Looks the R34 IMO is just plain better.
  16. OK mate Macquarie Uni has a huge carpark to practice on though I havent been there for a long time. Behind the gym there are 2 prety big carparks, one directly behind it is pretty big and another further up which is bigger.
  17. Ronin last night on Lane Cove Rd West Pymble, driving along with a S14.
  18. hmm really i got a left hand side for 600 from them when my friends front headlight got a crack. oh well must have been lucky
  19. I know, just wanted to tell 2G that he seemed like a nice bloke and that he should keep acting like a nice bloke. Anyway in that ACA report it was clearly the lebs that got the most camera time. Actually I am happy that I didnt overeact over that burn outs up the front driveway. It would be pointless, I would of got into a fight they would have come back yadda yadda yadda there would have been no end. The police came did their thing, game over no one got hurt. Painless really, except my neighbours came over the next day to talk about the "arab menace" in our suburb  . That ACA report didnt help either you should of heard the comments my neighbours were making on Tuesday. I tell you this, it didnt help my Lebanese builder, he was spewing when he saw that report saying it was the parents fault for not keeping an eye or their kids. It was kinda sad, he told me it was bad enough having to get business in the area without having these "punk kids" (his words) making it worse for everybody else. I mean dont they realise that they are making it worse and worse for themselves and those they love.
  20. 100% agree with you Blitz. I had retards outside my house in StIves doing burnouts and carrying on. Now im a nice guy and I understand what I was like when I was young. I let it go on for about 10mins. Then I went out and VERY politely told them to move on to somewhere non-residential. 10mins after that I had to decide whether to take matters into my own hands or call the cops. Well I did neither as my neighbour had already called the cops. As the coppers turns up, these guys drove past screaming "we will get you Narc". These guys were middle eastern and im sorry 2G but it wasnt the first time that ive had a hard time from them. Ive already been arrested twice already from getting into fights with them, once when they insulted my mother and once when they hassled my little sisters. Both of these times I was able to prove that I was not at fault. I dont know you 2G and all things considered you sound like a decent guy but what you have to realise is that MANY Australians feel threatened by the behaviour of certain middle eastern people. Of course part of what u have experienced is racism but hey I understand that, I myself am Asian and I have seen racist attitudes plenty of times. What I have come to realise though is that racism isnt always one sided. Asians are partly to blame for racist attitudes towards them. Its true that quite often we dont assimilate well with other races, we can be quite rude when dealing with people (especially customers this can come across as being arrogant or aloof), we quite often do not learn the right manners (cutting queues, slurping noodles in restaurants, clearing throats in restaurants, shouting loudly, staring at people) and quite often we dont learn to speak English properly or at all. As an Asian I understand that part of the way people treat me is because of dealings with other Asians. I may not like the way they treat me but I realise that the ONLY way to stop this is to re-educate them by showing them that not ALL asians are like this. There is no point being angry or getting upset it wont get you anywhere. The fact is YOU are an example of your race, you can either act like the stereotype or show others how good middle eastern people can be. At the moment I am building a new house and my builder and all his workers are all middle eastern. For the last 6months I have talked to them and spent a lot of time with them. During this time I have learnt that Middle Eastern people have very similiar morals and ethics to my race and have discovered that they are not at all what I thought they were actually like. It only took 1 man (the builder) to re-educate me and to teach me that I have no reason to dislike middle eastern people. Its sad now when I see the young habibs doing burnouts and acting like d*ckheads in the city. They are just reinforcing the bad image that middle eastern people have and making it harder for the good ones that do work and try to live life peacefully in this country they decided to call home. 2G you cant always BLAME the police or society in the way they treat you. Just try to understand why they do and if you dont like it then re-educate them, set an example.
  21. My R34 came with Xenons. Try powerplay they usually have some and they charge around 600-700 each. Second hand of course.
  22. Hi Ouch, Like my original post says this was a year ago. When my car got broken into last year it was the police that called me and told me about it. They were nice about it and met me in front of my car. They told me what had happened and said if they found anything else they would call me. I know you are frustrated but really there isnt much they can do. Its not like they can ramdomly drive the streets and look for your car. I guess it is for situations like this that people have insurance. Good luck I hope you find your car. As for Hotspots, ive had my car broken into at Macquarie, Strathfield and keyed in the city and Hurstville. You have to accept that cars like ours are a popular target. There isnt really much you can do guys but to try to park it in a secure place. Now I pretty much park at friends places or I drive my shitter around. Cheers
