  1. The way I understand it is that unless it's a stat write off the insurance company do not inform the authorities of the accident. The whole idea of a repairable write off or "total loss" is that the cost to repair the car is more than about %75 of the original value of the car. All the insurance company is doing is choosing the most economical way of dealing with you. I assume that in order to be payed out they have assessed your car and quoted the original value, then probably payed you that figure minus the "buy back" value so that the car never leaves your place. This happened to my brother last month and he ended up getting payed out for his "total loss" and even though the car was stuffed, he was completely entitled to just have it repaired and keep it registered without any inspections. The idea of a total loss though suggests that if it is more economical for the insurance company to just buy the car off you then it's probably not worth fixing for you unless you have contacts that can do repairs significantly cheaper.
  2. You're probably talking about ryan? He thinks he's micheal schumacher since getting that job!
  3. It sucks how these things always seem happen around school holidays time. It's times like these you'd actually rather they came online and started the classic kiddy threads like "Thinking of dropping an RB26 into my datsun 120y, how much psi do I need to run 8's"
  4. I was already embarrassed enough looping in front of everyone then the "austin powers" effort to turn around pretty much topped it off. (not to mention that pesky gemini nipping at my heels with less than half the power!). Was a pretty classic day. We couldn't have asked for a better day weather wise plus the viewing area was great.
  5. What are you gonna use the hoist for? Lifting out the turbos? I didn't realise they were so heavy Seriously though, pull out your spanners, screw drivers, sockets and just start pulling things off. Pulling things apart is easy! just remember how it goes back together again.
  6. Well it looks like after some drunken motivation at Ryan's last saturday I'm coming as well! Hopefully they will accept my entry tomorrow although I can't see it being a problem as there's only 21 on the list at the moment. Hoping to to embarrass a few wrx drivers!
  7. What does this mean? You don't have the GT-RS or you don't have the t25g? How about you just buy me a T28 and we'll call it square?
  8. As you have probably worked out the top and bottom plates on the cooler do not even carry air so why bother touching it at all? That exhaust tip should only take a few careful taps with the right tools to be looking acceptable again. If you decide you are going to get someone to chop it off and weld a new one on you may as well take to it with a hammer in case you find you can actually fix it yourself!

For those of you who are interested (I say this because I know my car's not everyone's cup of tea), here's a vid of my car getting around the first motorkhana map.
