  1. Wicked weekend! I'm really quite proud of our performance. First and foremost the car reliability. The fact that when under the pump all the heads went together and solved troy's long term rear brake issue as well as ryan's dying sil80. When you see other teams pulling out gearboxes and diffs in the rain you really appreciate reliable cars! Secondly we were the only team not to have any penalties - which we worked out later had very little effect on the scoring so perhaps we were a little conservative there. And of course how organised we were on race day due to the help of a few - thanks again Bec, Todd, Rob, Jordan, jarrod Big thanks to Jarrod for all the happy shnaps to remember it, also the heads up you were after a few sneaky sideways shots at Honda!
  2. I would love to come along but it looks like I'll be overseas. Hopefully it won't be the last
  3. I found this by chance, Looks like a bit of a heated discussion going on. http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&i...948665514994175
  4. I had a mixed day. Turns out I have a blown headgasket and 1 seized piston in my front right brake caliper. You can't get much better value for money though, I would recommend one of these days to anyone. Wasn't there somebody taking photos or video on turn 1 all day?
  5. What time do the gates open so we can unpack tools etc to be ready for the 9:00 start?
  6. I really can't remember sorry mate. I seem to remember spending around $50 but couldn't tell you how much I bought? could have been 10 metres could have been 25. If you are nearby you may as well drop in and enquire. Because it's a truck place and isn't a shop front then there's no wank factor. Take cash and you might get a discount.
  7. I'm signed up for this one. Hopefully can learn a thing or two. Does anybody know if we are using the dandenong road entry or the springy road entry?
  8. I got mine from Victorian Truck exhausts on Westall road springvale. They are pretty cheap (if you pay cash)
  9. There is a joint I use in ~oakley? just near the corner of princess highway and ferntree gully road in a little side street on the north side of princess highway. I'm pretty sure it's 18 marriott street in chadstone but can't remember the name. They do truck plumbing etc and have alway been happy to sell small silicon bits for cash. I'm not 100% on that address but it's very close to there if it's not.
  10. I finished there last year. I actually miss it a bit, sipping lattes and having a perve down on glenferry road was a great way to fill time!
  11. Winton is a good track to learn at. It has plenty of run off and is not very fast. Although back at round one there was that bloke in his R33 GTR at his first track day who wrote off his car (or close to). There is only really one corner you could do that and he was unlucky enough to pick that one to have an off.
  12. Mount your fire extinquisher aye:? I'll do it for special price 1 night only $2000. It's one of those tricky jobs you don't wan't to have to do
  13. Pretty sure it sucks everywhere. The USA had it before we did (like everything) but it's a worldwide franchise.

    Engine Damage

Yeah while you guys pretty much covered it all, not only does the fuel keep the pump cool it effectively lubricates it as well so if you regularly run your tank down low you reduce the pump's life from it sucking air more regularly.
  15. *cough* december last year...*cough cough*...
  16. You don't work down in port melbourne by any chance do you? I work in the Boeing plant down there.
  17. GEt the engine number off the block and call vic roads. If it has been registered before they will have record of it and can also tell you if it's a stolen motor. The original engine number will also be on one of the ID tags in the engine bay. check that the number on the block matches that tag.

  19. So as I type right now people will be negotiating cones and having a ball at DECA..... I was pretty shattered I couldn't make this one, but gues what I did today instead? I got a private tour of the Boeing plant in Seattle and all I can say is wholly crap! Everyone knows that aeroplanes are huge but just imagine the size of the building that houses the production lines that the planes roll down! For all you plane buffs I got up and personal with 787 build number 1 which is a sexy aeroplane! A bit off topic I know but today made me feel a bit better about missing DECA. I hope everyone had fun
  20. I guess it really depends on how much you want to do it. I don't think anybody entirely enjoys their uni experience but it's a means to an end. If you are thinking about IT or drafting then you are definitely confining yourself to an office job that is less hands on than what your automotive engineering career would have been.
  21. I hate to pick holes and possibly omit myself but I haven't gone anywhere near 1:37 at winton. It was more like 1:44.3
  22. I'm not sure what field you have just pulled out of but I'm a mechanical engineer and my job is a long way off the suit and tie crap. I wear a T-shirt and shorts to work and spend half my time on a computer using CAD and the other half in the workshop putting together the stuff I've designed and had made. I have learnt to weld, run a lathe and also a mill. It may not be your area but it's just an example how you can actually get a good balance of both.
  23. Record the sound from your favorite porno onto a cd. That should perk you up, or sharpen your mind, or harden you the f**k up!
  24. If I was better with computers I would have done this in a slightly more clever way but... you get the picture
  25. I wonder why they don't fill up as quick as the SAU days???
