    2010 F1 Season

Man, this season is going to be an absolute cracker! I'm going to hit up the Silverstone GP whilst im in the UK, and I'm looking for suggestions of a good place to sit. I've narrowed it to three. 1 Luffield looks good - can see a few corners, is covered, and reasonably priced (286 pounds) 2 Becketts is obviously an awesome corner, but would it be great to sit at all day? (291 pounds) 3 Copse, for the first corner madness and also crazy speed. (329 pounds) Thoughts??

    New Semis

Thanks Guys, very helpful. That heat cycling procedure at the link sounds good, but I think i might annoy a few people if i spend my first session driving at half pace for 4-5 laps! Maybe if I do as Chris suggested before hand then spend the first session on the day gradually increasing load?

    New Semis

Hi All, I splashed out on a new set of semis for my S13 recently, and I just wanted to check what's important when you first take them out. I've driven on used semis before, but this is the first time on a brand new set. My guess is you need to take it pretty easy for the first session to allow the smooth layer a bit of time to wear away. Is this what people mean when they talk about scrubbing the tyres in? Do you need to do lots of moving around, or will taking the normal line suffice? (Normal circuit sprint event, not a hillclimb or anything).
  4. Weekly bump! Just put two new Bridgestone Adrenalin tyres on the front. 400 bux value to the buyer This is a really fun car folks. The paint's not the best, but some might argue that's a good thing - it doesn't attract unwanted attention, you can park it anywhere, or you can skid it without the worry! Reliable car that you can have cheap fun in and as i've said, price negotiable to genuine buyers.
  5. Great thread chaps, it's been a really interesting read for me. There's obviously a lot of knowledge in this thread, so I'll explain my scenario and maybe you guys will have some good advice for me. I play squash two or three times and week, and cricket a couple of times a week. I run a couple of times a week if i'm bored, but prefer to play sport than run if I can. I'm 6'6", and only weigh 88kg, so i'm lean. For strength training, all I do is pushups, military presses, and situps. What i'd like to do is improve the power in my legs to get that little extra court speed. A little extra strength never hurt either. I notice you guys all emphasise the importance of rest/recovery between sessions. I find it hard to fit weights routines in between sport, and so I don't think my body's getting adequate rest time. Can you suggest a way that i can improve my overall strength, most importantly leg strength, without compromising my sport performance too much?
  6. Yep car is still for sale, so feel free to come and have a look! The car is cheap, but feel free to make an offer - you may be pleasanty surprised Answers to some common questions i've had so far: - It has a factory SR20det ECU. - Boost control is taken care of by a manual T-piece. - The front right fender has been repainted with spray can, dude to a VERY low speed nudge. No structural drama as a result.
  7. According to This site, they weigh 1320kg standard
  8. Car is still for sale folks I've got plenty of time to show people the car on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, PM or message me to organise a time!

  10. Hi All, My S13 is up for sale. I have had the car for a little over two years and in that time I've done around 22,000k's. Genuine reason for sale; i've bought another car and don't have the room/need for two. All servicing (oils, filters, pads, plugs, etc) has been carried out by me, anything else has been done by Autosport Engineering, Kirrawee. I haven't had any problems with the car, apart from a failed coilpack - all four were replaced with OEM S15 items. The servicing intervals have been kept nice and short to make sure track work isn't a problem. The body is in reasonable condition. The bonnet, doors and boot are fine but the paint on the fenders and roof are faded/scratched. I'll be sure to make it clear in person. I've recently renewed rego, so nothing to worry about there. Here are the details of the car: Black, 1988 model Rego till 16 November 2010. 116,xxx k's 1997 SR20DET Blacktop conversion. 5sp Manual Short Shifter kit Front Mount Intercooler Garrett GT28R Ball Bearing turbo 3" exhaust turbo back, 3” highflow cat Walbro fuel pump Oil Catch Can Nismo clutch R33 Radiator Pod filter Battery Relocated to the boot. I'm also happy to see people in the evenings since there's still light at this time of year. I live in the Inner West. Price: $7500 You can read more about the car here My Blog Any questions, send me a PM here or call 0412 509 637. Cheers, Leif
  11. Great website. You'd be amazed what you might find on there. There's very little brand bias and great diversity of cars.
  12. Wow, congratulations on the time mate! Really enjoying the write ups you've been doing in Performance Imports on this car. I hope there's a few more to come!
  13. Nice one, looks good! Certainly a big fan of the direction the Motive DVD's are taking compared with what you've done in the past.
  14. Just another admirer of this amazing build. You've built something totally unique, tasteful, and still personalised. It would take a lot of balls to spend this much on a Skyline. I dare say a few people have scoffed and asked why you didn't buy one of the exotics, but i'm glad we're not all the same, or builds like this wouldn't happen. Thanks for sharing.

    2009 F1 Season

I can't believe Kimi doesn't have a drive next year. I agree with the comments above - the Ron Dennis McLaren would have paid that extra coin to secure him. And for 2011, what is going to change? He will be asking the same money, but will be a year older, and a year out of the seat. I fear we might have already seen Kimi's last F1 race.
  16. First Car: 89 Silvia SR20de Second Car: 88 Silvia SR20det My friends didn't even notice when I changed cars!
  17. Interested in the wheels+tyres, but can't send PM's yet. Could you contact me on 0412 509 637? Thanks mate.

    2009 F1 Season

Did anyone else think Massa did a pretty cracking job to finish 4th? He got virtually 0 air time because the British broadcast was too busy following Hamilton's scrap for 16th , but he smoked it off the start with the help of KERS, and held off some more fancied competition in the closing stages. Definitely looking more positive for them. Do people think Ferrari will stick with KERS, now that they're the only team on the grid using it? Watching Q2 on Saturday, I really thought this was shaping as Webber's best chance yet for a race win. It's hard to say that Kimi cost him pole etc etc, but I agree with what others have said here - it certainly would have made things more interesting if Mark had had an opportunity to chase Sebastian from the word go. He stuck to the back of Rubens for the whole first stint, left him well behind after the first stop, and essentially matched Vettel's pace thereafter, which suggests things could have at least been closer.
  19. I reckon Bruce Wayne would love to get his hands on that. Looks unreal. Can't wait to see it in action next weekend!
