  1. Hi guys, I was involved in a accident, an old couple rear ended my GTT. Got it back from the repairs shop. Everything seems to be ok, except for the fact that now when the turbo kicks in, i can hear it whistling. It never used to do this before. Basically the rear bumper was damaged, the boot was slightly damaged and the exhaust tip was damaged. Could have the damage to the exhaust resulted in the turbo whistling? Could the exhaust bumped something near or around the turbo. Sorry for the noob questions. Cheers
  2. I wanted something small to take to LANs as well. Was getting sick and tired carrying a mid tower, plus i've always wanted a small case from my last build which was 6 years ago. The new GTX 560 is out, that could be a better option than the 460, plus your future proofing yourself for that bit longer.
  3. Hi Guys, Thought I'd share with you guys my new PC after 6 years with a P4 Northwood. Specs are: CPU: Intel i7 950 with stock HSF Memory: 12Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz (3 x 4Gb) Motherboard: Asus Rampage III Gene Primary HDD: OCZ Vertex 2 E 120GB SSD Data HDD: Western Digital WD1200FAEX 1Tb Video Card: Leadtek GeForce GTX570 PSU: Corsair HX850 Optical: Pioneer BDR-206BK (BD burner) Case: Lian Li PC-V354 Black Basically bought and built mid december. Won't be doing any overclocking and may buy another GTX 570 later for SLI (when prices come down) Cable loomed pretty much every cable. I didn't notice I had a 'black' theme going until I finished. Once PSU was in, cable management went to sh*t. Stupid ultra long power cables. When turned on. Plays all the games I've thrown at it without it missing a beat. All graphics settings on the highest. The only drawback with the system is the case. Its a pain the ass to just open it as its not your standard 2 screws at the back then slide the side off. instead, you have to unscrew 8 small screws thats holding it on the chassis. So my community announcement would be to avoid this case if you tend to open the sides alot.
  4. I replaced my battery a few weeks ago. It was some lion brand with 350CCA. Went to super cheap and bought a century one with 420CCA as well as new terminals (couldn't find a battery which has got small terminals). The car runs fine now.
  5. If you are buying a dell, its better to get the extended onsite warranty. if something stuffs up, you call dell, dell arranges a tech to come by and replace faulty parts.
  6. Its probably not a huge step in tech, uses same OS as iphone, same sort of hardware etc, and like most apple products its all gimmick and marketing. No real world use for except to read ebooks maybe.
  7. Spec/tech wise its pretty impressive but IMO, for that amount of money i would prefer to buy a euro super car (ferrari, lambo etc). You drive the LFA into town and everybody (besides car enthusiast) will think 'Wow...what kind of car is that?? A lexus...WTF?'
  8. My biggest concern is the batteries that these electric cars use to store power. Like the majority of things manufactured, those things things will fail and need to be discarded. It probably takes more resources to discard the battery safely than a regular car would.
  9. cheers for the reply. Yes the battery is 3-4 years old. Basically it hasn't been replaced when i bought the car. Any recommendations on which battery as a replacement?
  10. Hi, I seem to have an issue with the car battery. I had not driven my car for about a week. My third party car alarm still makes the beep, however the factory central locking (which can be found on the key itself) does not work. Basically all electrics do not work as well as the obvious, i can't start the car. Question is does this always happen when you don't drive the car for a long period of time. Also i'm thinking of replacing the car battery itself as the battery is really quite small compared to the other batteries i see. Can i buy a replacement from say SuperCheap or Autobarn and which model of battery. Cheers
  11. There is another diablo type game called Alien Shooter 2. Instead of goblins and other dungeon creatures you get to kill aliens. Not as in depth as diablo but its pretty much the same gameplay.
  12. Haven't touched my PSP in ages, its the old skool 'phat' version. Its got devhook installed but not the latest version. The only reason why i bought it was to play Ace Combat (which is an awesomesauce game if you like arcade flight sims). I also had the trusty CPS2 emulater so i can play those coin-op arcade games like armoured warrior and aliens vs predator. When i was really into the whole PSP thing, I also used to have a free app called PSPDisp which would allow you to use the PSP as a secondary PC monitor. My friend connected his hacked PSP to his PS3 and accidentally upgraded the PSP firmware. Now he has to get it downgraded using that battery technique.
  13. Got a wave (and i waved back) from a silver R34 with green P's on the corner of Stoney Creek and Penshurst St.
  14. I have the RTM 64 Bit ultimate installed on my Dell XT2 since August. Smooth install from USB drive. Only grip are the drivers and the fact that occasionally when shutting down it needs to wait for an program to close. Other than that its very stable. I've also got the Windows 7 Touch pack installed and its awesome!!! Only drawback is that the current drivers only enable two point of contacts (RC version had 6 points).
  15. Hi, Sorry for sounding like a noob, but tonight the plastic cover underneath the engine came off whilst i was driving (i took it off and chucked it in the boot as it was dragging on the road). It was held up there by these plastic fasteners where you push in and it clips in. I don't know what these are called but from the looks of it they also hold/fasten the trim inside the boot as well. Does anybody know where i can get some spares of these? And what are they called? Also does it really matter if i don't have the plastic cover underneath the car? Cheers Edz BTW its an R34.
