  1. Bought these 2 when they were on sale at Autobarn and Super Cheap a year ago thinking I might have a go doing some small things myself. But Dan's been getting all my business and thought someone else might want them. Selling both for $30 pick up or can deliver if you're southside. Jack - 1400kg Stand - 2x 1200kg I'm sure they'll work for most cars. Send me a PM or text me at 0422 797 486.
  2. Looks like you're a sucka for massive dish rims. TE37 and LMGT4 only come with those dish at 19. Personally I think 18 is the perfect size in terms of look, price (both rim and tyres) and steering. No doubt 19 looks great and better than 18 but I cant justify spend the extra coins just to look good.
  3. The website still say they're making them (I'm assuming because I saw another model which they actually state will be discontinued when the last piece is sold). I was told by Streeter last year when I was buying a new set that I will need to wait for the LMGT4 if I really wanted them. Not discontinued but from what I understand is they need a minimum order before they will produce them. So I ended up with the TE37.
  4. Indeed but at the same time I dont understand the huge price increase. I mean if its 10 or maybe 20%, its still fine but we're talking about over 50%...
  5. Now I was browsing through the website checking the price of rims for my mate. I was shocked to see the TE37 I got last year is now 82,000yen when I got them at around 51,000yen last year! I believe this increase is across all range because I have prices for Gramlight 57d and LMGT4. All these 3 models are over 50% more expensive....
  6. Tried Shannons but they didnt like my carport with a roller door. Said they wouldnt insure it unless its in a fully enclosed garage which is fair enough.
  7. For those that own a GTR (Suspect this is the reason for the "Special Vehicle Excess" which is 1000) and having an insurance with Justcar or planning to, make sure you check ALL the excesses. I was with Justcar for 3years without knowing about the hidden excesses and got a shock when I saw them this time when I was sent the renewal notice. Immediately I called NRMA up for a quote. Got quoted 1250 for full comprehensive with 600 flat excess. The insured value of the car is only 2000 lesser than Justcar. My original premium with Justcar is 950 but with a much higher excess (I did that to lower my basic premium) of 1500. But little did I know I have to pay other excess along with the 1500 (I know its my responsibility to read but I would have thought they would advise you of these excess). If the car is stolen, I need to pay 1) Basic excess =1500 2) Special Vehicle excess = 1000 3) Thief excess = 1000 If I were to make a claim for anything, I need to pay 1) Basic excess =1500 2) Special Vehicle excess = 1000 So in the end I changed to insurer to NRMA.
  8. Yea neither do I until 1 of my colleague told me about insuring his V35 with them.
  9. The agreed value is only 1000 lesser than Justcar... Thats possible because I do recall either Shannon or Justcar mentioned that before. Are you saying a total excess of $800 if making a theft claim or is that $800 on top of the standard excess of $500?? You do know standard excess is what you pay a s a minimum for any claim and any additional excess may apply depending on the claims (e.g. underage drivers, theft etc). I dont think its got much to do with where I live though even is it possible. The "Vehicle Excess" is clearly something additional which they charge and since you dont have it, I can only guess its the GTR badge and not just all imports. But yea... its not very nice to have "hidden" excess and them not letting you know (all they would say is the standard excess). I know its our responsibility to read the fineprints etc but I would expect this to be advised upon signing the insurance... In any case, I'm happy with the premium and the flat 600 excess.
  10. What has alarm gotta do with any excess?? I have immobilizer/alarm installed and list for both insurer... In case you're wondering, its a Mongoose M80 series. I have never made any claims too and been driving for 10 years since I got my license and with Justcar for as long as I have the GTR (3years?). But its only on this bill which I noticed the other 2 excess which I wasnt aware of when I signed up for it. I dont know if the badge has got anything to do with the excess but I do know a 3.5k or even 2.5k excess is a ripoff. Because I dont have a fully enclosed garage. I dont mind paying a bit more to get a hassle free claim (not that I've made any or planning to) which is why I would love to go with Shannon...
  11. Woohoo. Just renewed my insurance with NRMA. Guys with insurance with Justcar you might want to check your excess. Although I bumped the excess up to max to reduce the premium ($900 PA with what I thought was $1500 excess) but I didnt realise they have another $1000 excess for theft and another "Vehicle Excess" which I think is due to the type of vehicle insured. Meaning I'll need to pay $2.5k for any claims and $3.5k for a theft claim! To make things worse, this is based on the old mod list and when I tried adding more things to the list online, the premium sky rocketed (around $1.6k with $600 excess with $1000 vehicle excess and $1000 theft excess). Called NRMA up and got quoted flat $600 excess with an annual premium of $1250. Having said that Shannon would be my choice if they would insure me but unfortunately they dont.
  12. Yea I think Happy Laps is on the 18th. If I dont go for the time attack, definitely happy lap at least.
  13. Just checking if anyone else is keen. Simon? Justin?
  14. Seeing Martin's camera on the helmet got me thinking. Anyone tried these for in car camera mounting?? Was planning to get 1 of these for recording track/drag. Shouldnt be any issue for drag but i wonder if the single suction will hold around the track when the car's swinging from side to side. This is only for a small digi camera like cybershot. Nothing hardcore. http://www.camzilla..../suction-mounts
  15. I dont know I'm in the office now at Milton. But I can leave anytime. Maybe 11:30? Little Hongkong? Malaya Corner? I would suggest parking across the road from Malaya corner next to the school if we're going because there might be a lot of cars at this hour.
  16. $45 bucks power bill for the last 3months! Winning! Hopefully the next one will be closer to 0 or credit. 1pm tomorrow boys! Anyone keen for lunch prior at Market Square???
  17. Gokart this saturday boys! Remember to print your voucher. On a side note, anyone keen for Thursday night car wash at freedom?
  18. We still do it every now and then but just a couple of us.
  19. Hahaha. Thats cause I live 5mins away. Should join John (yaface) and I for dinner on Thursday night someday!
  20. Erm. Not 20 but close enough like 15. What has km gotta do with anything? Dont tell me oil change for gtt or gtst is 50% cheaper? All you need to do is do the mods properly and dont push the car anywhere near its limit (e.g. Running over too much power). It does stay in the shed most of the day but I do attend club events like drag day, happy lap etc. Not just going but actually doing the event.
  21. MX5 + 4WD + Trailer (time attack) or 180SX + 4WD + Trailer (drifting?) or GTR
  22. I dont think insurance would be any different tbh. All imports should be roughly the same. I'm paying around 1100 PA for full comprehensive with 400 or 500 excess (lowest). I used to hate 33s like a lot of you guys but due to some circumstances the 34gtr became out of my reach. And I simply cannot refuse a mechanically sound N1. And yes, the 33 did grow in me. Always. I take it out for grocery etc so kinda like a daily anyway. You dont really need a lot of money to enjoy a gtr really. A good clutch and retune (performance mod) will make you smile everytime you drive it. My advise is get what you can afford and budget for rainy days. When it comes to car, you typically get what you pay for (not saying impossible to get something thats good and cheap). I would always look for a basic car with good mods and untouched engine.
  23. Erm I've got a 33gtr as my first and only car though. Own it for just over 3 yrs and I dont think its costing me a lot to own it. But I do pay more for the 100,000km service. Having said that, I take a bus to work everyday.
