  1. i've had M80's in both my skyline and stagea, and also done all my own stereo install in both cars, ripped everything out and reinstalled. never had an issue with noise. might be your speakers are earthing on the door internals if they're wider speakers, as i did have this problem for a day until i fixed it. BDL is the place to go for install, belco guys did a good job for me at the right price. you have to pay for service, not just the unit. you can pay joe blogs down the road to install it for a case of beer, but what's stopping him getting a copy of your frequency, making his own remote and yoinking your car one night with not a sound?
  2. i got a set of them for TEINS, dunno if they're the same for all brands though. they're just a couple of spanner like things, not much to them.
  3. Well, it helped my car because the stageas, and i'm pretty sure all RB25DET's standard run rich, mine is currently at 11:1 A/F. having ethanol increases the amount of oxygen molecules in the fuel, essentially increasing that A/F ratio. i'm not sure if it brings it to the optimal 12:1, but it gets closer. due to the ethanol having more oxygen, it is therefore more reactive, and it deteriorates the seals and rubber o-rings in the fuel system faster. that's the downer of using ethanol fuel i guess. newer cars don't have the problem, but most skylines being early to mid 90's cars do. this is pretty much all i know about it, i'm sure other people know more, or know it more correctly than i do.
  4. I've used it a fair bit, i usually get about 20 - 40km extra out of a tank, depending how i drive. i don't know if that's worth the extra 5c it is over BP98. also being 5% ethanol doesn't really appeal to me, but i figured 5% couldn't hurt too much.
  5. Spotted a white R33 following me up ginninderra drv.
  6. i got fined on my P's and had my license suspended for 3 months... wasn't much fun either, it was during my HSC. in those days i couldn't afford a skyline though, and any P plater who can has too much money.
  7. Spotted a silver series 2 on saturday in canberra, i forget where i was when i saw it though
  8. also why are you going over dickson? i didn't go through dickson to get my car changed to ACT rego. probably easier if you go through a private workshop for inspection
  9. i have a cap gun .45 revolver... it's a toy however and about 5 ocky straps. they might be classes as a weapon
  10. i'll find out about the job next week. if i didn't get the job i'll demand compensation. my brother is in town again with his chaser, so if you want a see another mad family car (other than the stagea) come around. also i think my mate with a turbo MR2 will join us.
  11. Who's coming out tonight? the weather is great, nice and warm and not wet. come and bring your lines out of the garage for once!
  12. snooze has a twin remember, but i think it's a black bonnet, not carbon.
  13. well it's not there anymore, but yes, that's where we went to school.
  14. i usually get mechanics to do my work because 1) i work full time and can afford it. 2) it's a lot more convenient to get someone else to do, which is what you pay for. 3) i don't know evyerthing there is to know about cars and have had bad things happen before while doing home grown mods 4) only have 1 car and need it finished to get to work/training. In a few weeks i'm getting my old skyline back so i can pull the stagea apart however, my one chance in the last 2 years to get underneath the wagon for a decent amount of time
  15. Damn...
  16. You're not a Geoff i used to go to school with in Kelso? Anywho, spotted Mark on a hot date during lunch at Starbucks in the city. i didn't want to interupt your coffee break
  17. Spelt: Cheques. we're not in America here. i'm concerned about the literacy of the children, think of the children!!
  18. anyone know what the event cost is going to be?
  19. yep, 'twas me. just doing spme errands during lunch! were you in the silver R33 on josephson st?
  20. spotted an R34 driving from fyshwick to belco. had 3 digit licence plate
  21. could be a lot of things. electricians can set up your windows to work with ignition on or off, it's not hard to change. standard my S1 doesn't wind up with ignition off.
  22. Unclean!!!
  23. yeah i found that problem. the solution is to not use the auto lights. i think it's a bad habbit to get into because when i would get into my other car, i'd forget they're not auto and the battery would go flat
  24. makes it easier to wind the windows up/close the sunrooves when you forget to and have turned the car off already
  25. dunno where you were, wasn't raining anywhere in civic while i was out. stayed at the museum for about half an hour and no one showed up until i was leaving, and that was just Frink.
