  1. the switch engages when the pedal is released actually, so you would get a squashed finger if you didn't press the pedal.
  2. An R33 and a Stagea have completely different clocks, so i doubt it will fit easily or well.
  3. I moved to Bathurst, remember?
  4. I took mine to Ed's when i was in the ACT, but only a couple of times. Most general servicing items I did myself.
  5. Spotted a myriad of skylines in the nations capital over the weekend, most memourable being a Bayside blue R34 GTR in Westfield Belconnen. I didn't get time to catch up on friday night, and i was in the missus' corolla anyway.
  6. Park brake should not affect the lights at all, unless you're talking about the handbrake light in the dash.
  7. I've been consistently getting 11L/100km drving to and from work, which is a 120km a day. I'm impressed with it, since the factory figures are around 12L/100km. not too bad for a 12 year old car with over 200,000km on the clock I think. 161c/L for Ultimate is starting to hurt though, hopefully someone buys the old girl in the next month or so so i can get myself a little 4 cylinder runabout to save some money on.
  8. I know it's not a Stagea, but I spotted a REGANAMU (legnum) on my drive to work this morning between Orange and Bathurst. Nice looking car.
  9. Haha, yeah I'll take all the other precautions, i'll probably get a mate to help me just to be sure i don't mash my valves into my cylinder.
  10. Awesome, thanks. that's the method I was going to apply, but i wanted to make sure it wouldn't f**k it somehow. I realise having a manual will make it easy to crack the nut on the harmonic balancer too, i can just leave it in gear on the ramps.
  11. I understand what TDC is and how it aligns with the tabs on the cam gears, but that wasn't what i asked. how do i initially get the engine to TDC? do i spin the pulley around by hand with the gearbox in neutral? do i just crank the engine until it stops at TDC like wheel of fortune? what's the easiest way to do it?
  12. followed an R33 to lithgow, WKD-33R. i got stuck behind a slow arse stateman and lost you.
  13. I got mine for $650 fitted. I'm not sure how much the individual bar is without fitment, but you could imagine postage not being cheap, they're not light.
  14. such a shame, I like a good rack
  15. just quickly, what's the easiest way to get the engine to line up TDC?
  16. There was one living in canberra last I was there
  17. Sorry mate, someone else beat you to it. SOLD pending payment
  18. I think I'm just going to get one of Kudos's kits, they have everything you need in them for a decent price
  19. does the RB30 waterpump fit straight up? my car would be another step closer to a VL then, I've already got an RB30 alternator.
  20. is your timing belt still for sale?
  21. This is still available. Master cylinder is identical between late model (pull type clutch) R33 GTSt's and R34 GTT.
  22. Here I am looking for an R33 guide, it's hidden in the Stagea section, who would have thunk it. I'm going to give mine a go, I think I have enough mechanical skills after 3 years of modifying the Stagea to know what I'm doing. Just need to borrow a timing light from my brother in law and I'm set. Would people recommend replacing the water pump after 200,000km? it doesn't seem to leak, but I'm not sure what condition the bearings/shaft are in. also the idler and tensioner pulleys, should they be replaced at 200,000km?
  23. I did the old 'buy a skyline 'cos they're cool' then realised i needed a boot, so i looked around for a vehicle with the performance of a skyline, yet the space of a wagon. I had one of the first Stageas off the boat I think. I'm selling it now, but not in any hurry so i'm still treating it like I'm keeping it forever
  24. does anyone have a link to this timing belt guide? i searched the forum for over an hour and couldn't find a decent one.
