It's my (made up) tradition to stick any car I own with the symbol of my communist childhood (a.k.a Chinese primary school).

So far on my car: China crap: FMIC, Wheels, Tires, various Gauges (besides boost) & exhaust (I think X-force is made in China?) Jap crap: POD, boost gauge & SAFC 2 Seems like there is an imbalance to the China-Jap crap ratio... Suspension is stock so I'm guessing that counts as Jap as well?

I found this on of the groups on FB today: Seems like he wants to push the modified car = hoon = direct impound without even doing any 'hooning' (or should I say having a modified car is now 'hooning')... which was something I sort of saw comming after seeing the updated QLD hoon laws last year. Having a so called 'illegally' modified car falls under the new Type 2 hoon offence... Luckly, no such crap has appeared in WA yet...

Went & bought a netgear 4 bay Nas unit along with 3x WD 3TB red drives to off load all my animes/movies/TVshows to that instead. One of my old 2TB WD green is dying (WD20EARS) & luckily I had most of the stuff on there backed up to a external drive before hand, seems like all the drives that have shown signs of dying were WD greens (2 so far), with the exception of 2 segates that were DOA... the oldest hard drive, an old samsung 7200rpm unit (that I use as my main game install drive besides the SSD boot drive) I salvaged from my old PC bulit is still working flawless. Random people have being telling me leaving bit torrent running wears hard drives out faster, Is there any truth to that or complete BS? That dying WD green was one of the main drives that I had BT constantly running most of the time, coincidence?

Managed to track down a 2nd monitor with 16:10 ratio to do dual screen with my exisiting samsung B2240, after some quick google research it seems like I need to upgrade my graphics card to do triple screen. <sigh> Small (22") 16:10 monitors are getting hard to find now with everything being 16:9 focused, looks like I might buy another one & just keep it until I can upgrade my card (probably to 770GTX). & people on ebay want ~$300 for a 2 gen old GTX 570? Really?!

I'm still on the old i7 2600k (what ever code name that one was) & I haven't even bothered to overclock it at all... :S Upgraded the video card once way back (from 260GTX to 570GTX) & found haven't found the need to upgrade anything.

Good thing WA is 20 years behind everyone else so I guess we won't see these for some time... All these laws do is breed the perfect Camry grandma driver, the ones that always drive at least 10k under everywhere, take off from the lights slower than the bus next to them, merge on to the freeway still doing 20km/h slower than existing traffic due to slow acceleration, never use >5% throttle & brake the 1st instance they see a speed camera/cop car even if they were already doing 10ks under to begin with.

Yeah good old US of A is good for speeding around, from reading a US based BMW forum it seems like 15mph over is the norm & cops won't bother 99% of the time while the ones that get done for speeding & are complaining with an rant thread got caught doing close to double the speed limit & when I asked about modifing my exhuast for the 335i every body's response was something alone the line of 'get a catless one'... LOL Wouldn't that be NT? They are bring back the unrestricted speed limit to a section of the freeway?

They said that last year, & the year before that... but still yet to happen. There were mentions of it being made illegal because 'bla bla bla, speeding kills, bla bla bla radar detector makes people go 300km/h without getting caught, bla bla bla' ealier this year too, but there hasn't being any follow up with it, looks like the issue has being sweeped under the rug again. I went through several Police RBTs with my radar detector on the wind screen & the cops never mentioned about it. I guess big meets/cruises are a different kettle of fish, but when I had my R33 as a daily I used to drive around the 'hot spots' on weekends but never got defected before, had 'random' license checks or police doing a U-turn to catch up & then sit on my arse for minutes but never got defected. Even the times I got done for speeding the cops that pulled me over just gave me a ticket & never mentioned anything about defects, despite I had 3 dodgy aftermarket gauage installs done with double sided tape. Now my current daily drive, despite being faster & more powerful than my old R33 is 99% immune to defects . EDIT: But I still maintain that WA is better than most eastern states for low level speeding particularly the 0 demerit point one for <9km/h, although this might change if the newspaper is to be believe where they are thinking of increasing the fines for low level speeding & adding demerit points to it...
