My old Geforce 570GTX kicked the bucket earlier on this week so I replaced it with a Gigabyte 970GTX G1 edition, while I was at it, I gave the CPU HSF a much needed clean (haven't really touched it in over 3 years). Besides a decent boost in gaming performance I noticed this card uses less power at idle compared to the old 570, my UPS is showing ~100W for the system vs the old 180W. Still haven't bothered to OC my i7-2600K yet, haven't really found any program I use to really stress it out even at stock clock speeds. Thinking of getting a much needed monitor upgrade (still running 2 ancient 16:10 samsung business mointors), thinking of getting a AOC 24" 144Hz G-sync monitor so I could use the feature from the new graphics card, but would running it triple screen setup with the two old 60Hz monitors cause issues?

The more reason I want to play it now... <big middle fat finger> to the nanny 'save the chlidren government bodies who decides what I can and can't play...

If it gets banned here (most likely given our past history) due to our "won't someone please think of the children" gay crowd, guess I'll just torrent...

3 MPS's party trick is the roll on acceleration, 80-130 in something like 3 seconds. I have only ever driven 'performance cars' as daily, started with the R33 on my Ps, and last year moved to a BMW 335i. Don't think I can ever go back to driving a vanilla fax machine car like a Camry. Also regards to high upkeep of Skylines, depends on what you are used to I guess, after owning my BMW for 1.5 years, the skyline's upkeep is peanuts in comparison (with both cars being 'lightly modified', only bolt ons mods with stock turbos, although the 335i is pushing about 100 extra rwkw), anything 1/2 major breaks in that car is easily a 4 figure repair bill while the only 4 figure bill I had with the Skyline was a major service (timing belts + water pump + pulleys etc etc).

My car is close to 21 years old & still on original coils, even my copper spark plugs lasted over 40,000km.

What's the current decently priced graphics card people recommand? Thinking of upgrading my aging Geforce 570GTX as I found it can no longer maintain stable frame rate on recent new-ish games (such as watch dog). I'll only be gaming on a single 16:10 mointor (1680*1050), however I would like to run with graphic setting set close to max and I would like the ability to run 3 of these monitors from a single card (some thing my current GPU can't do) in the near future. Currently I'm running two of these mointors. Rest of my system consist of Intel i7-2600K, Asus Z68 mobo, 8GB ram, whichI believe don't really need upgrading at the moment for gaming improvements.

Changed every 5000 km/6 month, car just has the usual bolt on mods (TBE, FMIC, POD, boost tee + SAFC II) running ~10psi on stock turbo. It was just used as a daily driver (auto) for the past 4 years & now my mum uses it mainly for work runs. I should add they are still semi synthetic oils (Shell HX7), the ones I used before were GW Syn-X 3000 10w40 which was about $28/bottle.

Just got some $16 Shell 10w40 oils for my next 2 changes, come to think about it I've being using sub $30 oils for ages...

I had a $50 china bike for 10 years & never had an issue.

Where can I buy a set? Nit will go nicley with my china spec tires & wheels.

Why car, I suggest a tank... start with something cheap while still on your tank P plates. I suggest an old Soviet T34-85 are good noobie tanks, with plenty of them in the 2nd hand market due to the massive amounts produced. Avoid the higher end German tanks, while great they are at blowing shit up for their era, they has over the top servicing costs (even if you DIY) and legendary tanks like the Tiger & Panther commands outrages prices on the 2nd hand market. The only German tank I would recommend for a noobie would be the panzer VI although it would need to be the later upgraded models with the long barrel 75mm gun & extra 80mm armor plating to make it viable option when encountering road raging chevy-badgedore bogans. Avoid Japanese tanks as they have crap armor & isn't very intimidating against a SUV soccer mum trying to cut you off. You can go American as well, the humble Sherman M4s are reliable & cheap to run although looks bloody ugly imo, if you can score a firefly model with the upgraded British 17 pounder gun for cheap you're onto a winner.

There is no mention of idling the car for any length of time in the user manual of my BMW & from what I've read on the BM forums, most people don't idle warm up neither, just drive off & keep the rpm < 2.5k until oil temperature is around >/= 90 deg C.

I do Holds the zoom function at 125%, chrome/firefox seem to reset back to default 100% everytime a new tab is opened.

335i came in manual, although it is much harder to find. The ZF6 speed is a pretty good box anyway & the auto 335i is faster at traffic light GP... They respond pretty well to mods too, upgraded downpipes (rest of the stock exhaust is suprisingly very good for flow) + tune (Cobb or JB4) will see some nice boost in kw & Nm. If you happen to come across a sedan (E90) you will get zero attention from Cops/bogans/ricers/P-platers as it looks like a base spec 320i with the exception of twin exhaust tips.

Also QLD have reduced the speeding tolerance for the 4th time for this up coming easter, because everybody knows doing 101km/h in a 100km/h is deadly...

21 years now, I don't get why everybody hates rattles, I think it gives the car 'character'...

& the current VF commodore SS is sold as the Chevy SS in the states.

Bought some Penrite 10W-40 Everyday plus as it was on special & $1 (almost 6 Yuan worth of savings! ) than GW Syn-X 3000. Will see how it goes but my initial verdict is: probably would make f**k all difference...

So I have being using GW Synx-3000 semi-syn oil for my car every 5000km or 6 month for a while & I'm wondering if I go with a full-syn oil would I be able to extend that interval to 10,000-15,000km or every 1 year? Reason being I'm too lazy & the Car (basic bolt on mods) is currently used by my mum driving back & forward to work, which is only ~6km or so & probably never sees boost (besides the time I take it for a drive).
