How To: Bosch 040 Fuel Pump In R33 Skyline Si / Sii

yeh i wasnt tooooo sure how the heatshrink i used would react to petrol. but it doesnt concern me because to create a spark you need sufficent voltage/current and it needs to be close enough to overcome the resistance of air (i think from memory is 10^8 ohms - LOTS). also you need sufficent oxygen to burn the with the fuel vapour. and finally (on mine) the lugs i are bolted on firmly with nylock nuts (i know its plastic). as i think about it now, if you were to short circuit the cables submersed in fuel you probably would not get a spark, just the fuse would blow... perhaps try that if you want... CAREFULLY lol i dont like soldering on things that vibrate. where the solder meets the copper it can create a fatigued joint over time. unlikely but happens. soldering is better for joints that do not suffer from mechanical stresses. -

i had my clutch replaced when i bought my car and at the same time they replaced the rear main seal aswell. about 2 months later i was in a hurry and WOT'd the car for a while (on a hot day). when i got back home everything was fine, car ran ok. next day got home from work and noticed oil where my car was sitting. turned out the rear main engine seal was put in backwards and produced a leak under sustained WOT. took the car back, they fixed it and never had a problem since. that was 3 years ago

hi guys i bought a Z32 AFM off of a user on here some time ago (who i wont mention... yet). ive had it sitting here for some time and on the weekend i decided that it was time to put it in. i did some reading and came across paulr33's website (scroll down to bottom) http://www.paulr33.c...nfo/snipit.html i read it and thought nothing else of it. i bought all my electrical tools home from work today and i was taking photos on how to connect the Z32's plug into the r33's stock wiring harness whilst keeping the original plug connected. i finished all the wiring and i opened the Z32 AFM and noticed this... as you can see the mesh is also larger then the stock nissan AFM below this got me thinking back to pauls website on wether or not i have a fake Z32 AFM... however the i did notice on paul's website "The main noticable differences are mangled mesh, crooked label and textured plastic vs smooth plastic casing". the one i have sitting here next to me has a smooth plastic casing. so my question is... is this AFM a fake? im leaning towards that it is... and for those who are interested in having both stock and Z32 plugs connected to the wiring harness... needless to say i left the original AFM connected
