  1. ahhh f**k... my neck really hurts from shaking my head... owww...
  2. hi guys did a search for fmic's with the inlet/outlets on the same side and didnt come across any... im wanting to get my 33gtst s2 up to around the 260-280rwkw's mark. currently im researching as such a new larger fmic. the 1 i currently have is a rather small apexi (not sure of model) with the inlet on 1 side - outlet on the other and the return pipe running beneith the fmic. i basically want 2 up the kw's of my car but still do it "legally" - if there is such a word for imported performance cars ive been told by a few ppl that because my gtst is a series 2, i cannot cut into the chassis because of the air bag sensors. when i got defected a few months ago i got into a conversation with the guy at pits and somehow we got onto the topic of fmics. i asked him about it and what he said was basically "nissan would have done crash impact testing in the design phase of the car and placed and set the air bag sensors at the front of the car in a certain way that only under certain conditions the air bags will deploy. if i start cutting/changing/welding into the chassis this COULD affect their operation thus affecting a safety feature on the car. however, the 33gtst s1's dont have this problem because they do not come with air bags as standard" i came across this thread while searching thru google and some interesting points have been made (im unsure if some are true or not simply because i dont know) http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/...-find-fmic.html -- "Both the inlet and the outlet are on the same tank. If you have ever seen a thermal image of an intercooler when it is operating you will notice that inlet tank is usually 70 to 100 degrees hotter than the outlet. When they are the same peice of metal then the heat from the inlet will carry over directly to the outlet partially offsetting the cooling effect of the intercooler itself." or am i simply worring for no reason and should just go for a sandard larger side to side fmic? thanks in advance adam

  8. hi all thort i mite share something... IF ANYONE HAS A SEAGATE BARRACUDA 7200.11 500GB HDD YOU SHOULD IMMEDIATELY BACKUP UR SH1T! on tuesday night, got home from work, had a drink, sat down, booted up the pc and BSoD! "uncorrectable hardware problem"... a bit of fault finding found that 1 of my Seagate Barracuda 500GB HDD's wont work. i can hear the drive spinning up and the heads moving but the BIOS wouldnt pick it up... after a quick google that returned countless forum topics on this situation, ive discovered that there is a firmware problem - a MAJOR firmware problem... apparently (hopefully) the data is still on the disk, but the firmware fu(kup isnt allowing the computer to access the drive at all... a bit more: http://www.neoseeker.com/news/9683-seagate...at-doesnt-work/ -- spontaneously after random power-downs, the drives stop being recognized by the BIOS. The highest rates of failure seem to be centered around 500 GB ST3500320AS models -- a large number of Seagate driver holders have reported that the firmware update has... yes, killed their hard drive below is taken from wikipedia --------------------------------------------------- 7200.11 Their capacity ranges from 160 GB to 1,5 TB. They support SATAII only. Codenames are Moose (earlier revision) and Brinks (later revision). Their buffer size is 8 MB, 16MB or 32MB. This family has introduced many firmware(microcode) bugs: Disks may not show and utilize all the cache. FLUSH_CACHE commands may timeout when NCQ is used. There is a performance anomaly using hdparm with NCQ queue depth 31 in AHCI mode. Speed test measures only 45~50 MB/s (expected: >100~110 MB/s). Disks may be inaccessible at power on. Disks affected by the last bug will not be detected in the Computer BIOS after a reboot. Numerous users have complained of this and are discussing it in a public forum when discussions in the Seagate forums were subjected to heavy moderation and subsequently closed. The symptom of the problem is that the Computer BIOS will no longer detect the hard disk after a reboot, and upon connecting to the hard disk with a Serial TTL board, this error code will be seen "LED:000000CC FAddr:0024A051". Faulty firmware triggers this 'failure', and the hard disk 'disappearances' seem to be happening in the month of November, December 2008 and January 2009 as reported in the forums. Two companies have claimed to be able to resolve this problem using their solution, namely Ace Laboratory PC3000-UDMA (version 4.13) and Salvation Data HD Doctor for Seagate (version 3.0). In order to fix the first bug, seagate released a firmware update (version AD14) for the affected disk models. In order to fix the second, third and fourth bug, seagate released firmware updates (version SD1A, SD1B, SD2B) for the affected disk models. Owners that have already updated their disks to AD14 have to repeat the process one more time with the latest firmware (version SD1A)! The SD2B firmware update for Brinks silently removes the DCO ATA feature from the disks while SD1A for Moose adds two ATA features. --------------------------------------------------- below is the link to the seagate website with the avaliable firmware downloads and a utility to check if your HDD is affected http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/self...sp?DocId=207931 so far ive tried the firmware update that seagate have provided and for me, it hasnt worked so yeah, i hope this helps ppl who have this drive...

  13. perhaps try a SLIGHTLY smaller socket then what u need and bash it on? ive never had that problem b4 so im not 2 sure...
  14. perhaps he needs some vtec to make it go better... dont 4get that carbon fibre makes ur car go harder 2 u know... guy at work told me that 1...

  16. ^ ^ thats true last sat nite i was driving down beaudesert road with my gf and a mate in the car. i was doing spot on 80km/h as per the speed limit at about 10pm and i passed 1 of those aurion patrol cars (he was turning right at a set of lights - mine were green and his were red). it must have been a slow night or perhaps his quota for the evening had not been met - i do not know, but as i passed him he saw "skyline" on the back of my car and decided to make an illegal left hand turn so he could chase me down for a quote "random licence and breathlyzer check" cop: have you been drinking 2nite? me: no cop: blow into this me: k cop: (blew 0.0) thats ok then cop: while im here, open the hood me: (thinking f**k!) ok cop: (while looking directly at the stock standard turbo) is this car turboed? me: (slight grin on my face) yeh it is. it came standard from nissan like that cop: (keeps looking around) does this car have a blow off valve? me: (still with a slight grin on my face) uhhh yeh... cop: k... giv it a rev me: how much of a rev, a little bit or really boot it? cop: yeh really rev it me: (reved it to 5.5k) k cop: do it again me: (again reved it to 5.5k) ok cop: (has a bit more of a look) hold on a minute, let me check your ride height... me: ok then cop: (wonders round the back of the car and checks it then comes back me) ok it all seems good... have a good night me: k THANKS! i dont think he was interested in MY car - well he was, just not for the reasons u had Jezboosted... lol so yeh... random breath test my ass!

  19. nice write up but i hope u used some hose clamps to secure the pump to the cradle?
  20. hey do you have any fotos of the unit?
  21. it wouldnt really be necessary... but if your planning on getting some more power out of ur car say towards 260-280rwkw's then this mod wouldnt hurt to have... the main reason i did this is because i would like in the near future i would like 260-280rwkw's but to get that you need turbo, injectors, fmic, tune n all that shit and all of this requires a bit more fuel + any excess fuel ur engine doesnt use just gets returned to the fuel tank anyways
  22. +1 for what Mayuri Krab said if ur gonna put a OS on there id spare 30GB for vista (if u use vista) and leave the rest for ur porn (and movies )... for defrag, there is a program out there called O&O Defrag Pro v10.0 which is very good... ive used Diskeeper in the past and IMO i think that O&O is better... but you can still try both to see what u like...
